MS has no stamina, and their credit, they quickly recognize the instances where they themselves have failed to promote something.
Is that you don't learn very much. steep learning curves are good because you learn a great deal in a short time. the inverse of that - idiot proof systems that monkey can use, means you never progress much beyond a monkey's facility or utility with it. and maybe THAT's a good thing but be sure you want something that's as simple and one dimensional as that.
So who cares? We're already a year behind schedule for replacing 4 year old laptops. We're not really refreshing hardware unless it's some exec or some drone who managed to get an exec to sign off on it. We could run XP for another 10 years. The only downside is the inevitable embarrassment with customers over our inability to open their Office 2010 and later docs on our MS Office 2002 machines but we're slowly abandoning that for Open Office anyway which is even less MSO 2010/2013 compatible so again, who cares?

Tiny fluctuations in electricity, volts, amps and frequency wreak havoc with electronic circuits at the micro chip level since small changes in the over and under power against the standard are quite destructive at the atomic level of semiconductors.
So other than zero corporate use and how it's not much cheaper than a netbook which, as a sector of the market died more than a year ago and it's nowhere near high powered enough for most actual use that's not browsing, I don't see a single thing wrong with it.
