While the "slippery slope" argument in itself is a logical fallacy against one particular instance, on the whole it seems to be very true and concerning.

"slippery slope" is only a fallacy if you say beacuse of something something else WILL happen. It is not a fallacy if you say because of something something else COULD (or is very likely even) happen. I find that people that scream about the "slippery slope fallacy" are usually doing so because they have no other arguments to back up their position.

erm...your statistics leave a bit to be desired. Your first link only covers Michigan and your second link is only for Atlanta, GA. The 3rd link is to a site called "Opinion Journal" and doesn't even bother to cite it's sources. It also includes such gems as: Maybe, he suggests, the difference is that those in red states are more generous with their own money while those in blue states are more likely to be generous with other people's money. Definately an impartial source.

Overall I would say that this is a really bad sample population.

This last link I am not really sure what to make of. It seems to show that the states that make the least money donate a higher percentage of their income than people who make more. One of those sites also mentioned that the highest donations were people earning 60,000 to 90,000, a pretty comfortable, but not rich position. The only correlation I am seeing is the state income one, the interesting part is that all of the states that donated the least actual money all ended up in the leading positions.

Overall, I don't think that results from one state and one city give an accurate representation.

I know I do! Usually, in contract law, when one side decides to unilaterally change the terms the contract is voided. We set the terms, we waited our 50 years or whatever for Mickey, and when the time came to pay up (into the public domain) the contract was changed. Since the contract is void I am gonna just have to go with my gut. I have a VERY hard time seeing the public good in infinite copyright. I guess it is time to re-negotiate.

wow, anecdotal evidence and blatant misinformation gets modded insightful, nice...

Thermometers around the world, satellite data, and much soft evidence like receding glaciers and retreating sea ice points quite clearly to global warming being real.

I find that in particular hard to believe. I don't know what kind of thermometer you have, but the last few years where I live (Pennsylvania, USA) have been much colder than usual.

A couple links from a google of "average global temperature":
    one
    two
Both of which quite clearly show that temperatures are in fact increasing and proving, once again, that anecdotal evidence means shit.

Second, the theory is quite sound. CO2 pushes the energy budget of Earth up. Less energy out means Earth has to heat up.

IANAS, but doesn't less energy mean that the Earth will cool down?

um....no, seriously, why would you even think that? If you are taking in the same amount of energy, but are losing less energy, you will have a net gain, simple.
