Microsoft sold the Xbox at a loss. The ONLY reason that the Xbox still lives that that your "microsoft tax" that you pay for with every PC sold goes to prop up the Xbox.
The same could easily be said for Sony's PS/PS2/PSP line. Deep pockets from other industries allowed entry into this one.
And you may say the Xbox has not turned a profit, but that is a short term view. Look at it over a period of 20 years and then try to draw conclusions about who made money in it and who did not and where things stand then.
One thing the Japs seem to have down is taking the long view, not evaluating total success or failure over the period of four months.
WoW occurs in a place where there IS a story, as told through the original two games. There is probably some liscenced fiction out there, too. But the game occurs in a time/place apart from this story.
Similarly, there is a LOT of time between Ep 3 and 4. This is when SWG is suppose to occur. And I think it works as a time/place/theme. Trying to turn the game into a non-Sand Box is where they have a problem.
That straight sandbox games don't work. And that we needed to focus much more on the Star Wars experience. I think in the past, what we probably made was the Uncle Owen experience as opposed to the Luke experience. We needed to deliver more of the Star Wars heroic and epic feeling to the game. I think we missed there. That's what I think we really brought to the game [with the update].
No, that is what makes Battlefront 2 works, what makes JK2 work. No one will pay month after month for that same experience, which is the premise of the MMO revenue model. What people pay month after month for is the sandbox with complicated options and roles to explore. I was playing Eve for a while - which is in a Star Wars-like atmosphere - and I was trying (and failing, that's another story) to become a manufacturer. Not a space pirate or Luke Skywalker - a Manufacturer/Industrialist. I sold the cheapest ammo in several solar systems. I would play a more economic game in SWG if I could have.
Even Battlefield 2 seems to have more depth than SWG does now.
This sentence says it all: We really needed to give people the experience of being Han Solo or Luke Skywalker rather than being Uncle Owen, the moisture farmer
Sounds like she wanted JK2 or something like that. The game is dead. Lets see if their new advert campaign gets them any new suckers.
This specifically says you do not have to be a paying member.
Fill out the forms and them a popup appears that says, very clearly, "The Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach Beta Stress Test is Open to Subscribers Only."
Hironobu Sakaguchi, long the creative heart of Squaresoft, was the director of the movie, and was ostracized by the rest of the employees afterward finally gave in to Japanese tradition and ended his life at the end of his own Samuri Sword.
You might want to investigate Battlefield 2. It isn't fully persistent, but the games does carry stats and you can get a LOT of points for not being a great twitch gamer.
You know, both gold and diamonds did occur to me as something to give as an example, but that would be flawed because both have extreme intrinsic value.
Gold is the most malleable and ductile metal known. An ounce can be beaten into 300 square feet. It also doesn't corrode easily and conducts heat and electricity extremely well. It is required in many, many industrial applications.
Diamonds are similarly of tremendous and unique industrial value. Their unsurpassed hardness and and unique thermal and electrical properties.
I wonder how someone with such a _low_/. ID number could be ignorant of that and make such a stupid post as you just did. Wow. I think you should surrender it and start at the end of the line for this. I will notify the Commander of this travesty.
I think the fascination is that this is a virtual economy with objects that have no real value outside of that which we assign to them.
You could make an even better argument for the even greater millions spent on artwork each year, particularly certain modern works that go for seven figures or more. Same for historical artifacts - witness Antiques Roadshow.
It's really nothing new.

Is why pay anything for music at all when you can get unlimited amounts for a fixed price each month using Play for Sure.
And even if you don't want to pay for that and not rent the music, you can get songs at a variable price for the competitors at $0.79 or less. They just don't work with the Ipod - which really blows. Going off on a rant, it is so vastly inferior to other players like the DJ it is simply on the strength of it's design that people must like it. CAn't use it with gloves or cold hands. Hard to operate without looking at. With the Pocket DJ, it's very clear when you hit the skip/play/pause and volume buttons while running or biking or lifting. Not so with the Ipod where you can't even use the scroll wheel during the winter.
But I have meta-moderated people down for months and months. I go right through and metamoderate everyone DOWN everytime I see the option pop up - several times a day.
If you really want to cause havoc, start metamoderating everyone down. You actually get meta rights several times a day. Eventually all the potential moderators will be gone other than the few 'permanent' ones with unlimited points and they probably can't read every post (though I have a feeling that they will get this post.)

What's the issue here?
What if they give master chief very small penis?
Yeah. That's more like it.
2) Your graphics card either sucks or doesn't work well with the game. Graphic options can be adjusted in game.
sorry there wasn't a mac version, bro.
...psssst.... I put floride in your drinking water....
Here you go:
Winblows Version
Anti-social elitist nerd version
The bi-curious version (OSX) is labeled as 'cumming soon.' Sorry.

1) The game's levels were poorly designed and you should find a better game or map.
2) Your team has lost. Get a drink while your tickets get punched and do better next round, you whinny little goat.
That is what you said, and that was an ignorant remark revealing your lack of understanding of material science.
You are hereby instructed to log out of your sub-50k ID account and create a new one, never to log into droleary again.
Yes, it would be a definite violation of the Geneva convention to deny the civilian population access to Pr0n and World of Warcraft.

Agreed, sell. And put your money into a more worthwhile growth industry. Like pay phone booths.
And if it bothers you that much, it might be because of that 'extra' chromosome you inherited.
