One very bright part of the Sega was their sports series that was developed by VC. In the last couple of years, they have been rated on par or better than the EA series. Sales don't reflect that just yet, although it does take some time to build a franchise.
I'm not really sure how this arcade thing will come into play in the US. I don't think there are very many arcades left here, although that DDR thing seems to be popular and I look forward to dropping $20 on a machine one day to try and get the hang of it.
First, I know what I'm talking about here because I have sold and purchased multiple accounts of AC. I haven't played in over a year.
In the case of Asheron's Call Turbine is now able to enforce the rules that have been in place since the game was released and Microsoft chose to ignore. This isn't/shouldn't be surprising for anyone that actually bothered to read the AuP or CoC when they signed up for the game.
No, they aren't 'enforcing' anything. They are just telling Ebay that they can't make money off of it anymore. People can still buy and sell this stuff, just without the convenience and limited security of Ebay.
No. If you have a house or an account and you want to sell it, you still can. So you wind up selling it to your friend or someone you trust already in your allegiance or something, and the person who does not have these kinds of connections is left out. At least with Ebay they could compete.
Houses and accounts will still be sold, they just won't be done in an open, accessible way. The economics of the market will be tremendously less efficient and more open to fraud (as Ebay at least makes it a little less likely with seller ratings, etc.)
Though maybe it won't be that bad. There are other venues (playerauctions, etc.) that will be publicly available.
The article called these vehicles dangerous but they have to be much less dangerous than cars. With a car error, you can slam into another car or into a tree or pedestrian. When this flying vehicle has a problem, it can disable it's engines, release a parachute, and let you sink gracefully to the ground, deploying a cushion beneath you before impact.
For some reason, for years Google had blocked somethingawful from their search engine. It isn't blocked anymore, but I really wish I knew why it was originally.
Actually, it does make sense. Consider how the gaming market is not uniform - what does well in J does not often do as well in USA, and vice versa, and there is definitly a consistent style to the FF RPG, etc. type games, I think it is fair to give them a catagory. Just like you should give Diablo clones a catagory. It just makes sense to group them together.
Now, as for the use of the term 'sushi,' I really don't see that as anything to take offense at. Sushi is closely identified with J culture, so attaching it to a game catagory that does seems reasonable. Just like 'rice' rockets.
And yes, I bet there are a lot of 'hamburger' type catagories in other countries that we aren't aware of due to us being in the US. I am not offended.
Generally, Rice-Boy will start out with a car that was not meant to go fast (typically a Honda Civic), and attempt to "fix it up," usually consisting of aftermarket rims, lowering springs and an aftermarket exhaust system with a large exhaust tip.
All of which make it go oh so much faster. Or at least sound faster.
A compliment to you on your expert analysis. Too bad your comment can't be modded to 6 or 7.
It would be nice if, in addition to having mods rating stories, allowing all registered users to vote for the 'best post of the story.' You would definitly get the award for this thread.
Yeah, I never thought that would happen. That use to be the reason that PS2 would own everything. I was just trying to think of upcoming PS2 games that were exclusive and going to be dominent but yeah, they are all sushirpg.
Plus, with Madden going online with XBL, the reasons for going PS2 are fewer than ever.
The whole sports thing is really between market dominator EA and and the 2Kx guys at Sega. In the last two football seasons, I thought the Sega product was better, though many found EAs product better (maybe cause it was more familiar?).
But 989 and the MS Sports products were just hangers on and both were single platform. The two guys still standing are mutliplatform and Sega is online with both systems. EA may be too.
The software could be programed to insert commercials between the songs in real time. It could be a way to enhance revenues and make being a full-time musician more profitable/plausible.
I am quiet proud of the writing I did. We were a serious zine with representatives at e3, we got all of the games given to us in advance by publishers. It was Well-Rounded Entertainment.
I was a video game reviewer for a zine, I could probably not program anything more than a tic tac toe game. I don't think many movie reviewers could make a movie. I've done published book reviews but have no near-time expectations of writing a book.
I too am in awe but my inability to replicate their work on my own does not disqualify me from criticising it.

No. You presume people are too stupid to know about alternatives; I do not. I sold one of Sony's game accounts on an alternative.
The move is a net-negative. Just watch and see how much easier it is to get a house. (No easier). Btw - I was in early beta so nya nya na nya nya.

Why is this modded troll???

Just like the style of cartoon known as 'anime.' The use of the Japanese-ish word to describe common traits of a cartoon.
Similarly, rice rockets to make sense because of origin of the automobiles being small, rocket-like Japanese cars.
I think you need to get over the common application of culture-related terms to nouns that are associated with that culture.
maybe I'm in a minority amongst a bunch of simple-minded weirdos.
Saying that you can't grasp this abstraction suggests that you are the 'simple minded wierdo.'
Actually, it is a step above the GF3.

Don't forget: all your lightbulbs are belong to us.

Still, does that apply to Kingdom Hearts and the upcoming sequel? Or do the characters all have to be anime-ish?

They aren't paying us to be helpful and being helpful is not our goal. Amusing ourselves at their expense may be.

Pretty damn funny. I love ATHF.

Also, in the first film, Senator Palpatine is a 'greyish' guy unless you were a geek and knew in advance about his metamorphasis (and I did not).

thanks for sharing that; absolutly fascinating.
