As if that wasn't enough, if you accept Facebook's privacy policy, you're the type to tolerate all sorts of shit which ultimately makes you to blame for the gradual erosion of individual liberties. Your desire to put convenience over a sensible policy of personal information dissemination makes you a useful idiot of every authoritarian state.

Which the main reason I never used it our any of the other sites. I can't remember which one it is, but you have to register just to look at anything. Not worth the effort, just so I can be tracked.

My son has the 360 version, but I can't stand to play it due to the crappy controls. I bought the other ones in PC form an had a blast with them. I was planning on buying this one, so I could enjoy it with proper mouse/keyboard controls. Since they did this, I won't buy the PC version. I sucks that all I really can do is watch someone else play through it on the 360.

Therefore I blame the publisher for using securom, and I blame Microsoft for not supporting keyboard and mouse on the 360.

  16. Re:I hate it on New Xbox Experience Goes Live · · Score: 1

I pretty much agree with most everything you said. Our 360 is pretty much only used as a media center extender. The new interface has made it difficult to get to the area you want. The menus for music and videos use larger fonts and graphics, so you see fewer items on the screen at once. The highlighted text bar is bright green with light grey text. Makes it difficult to read. There is no option to sort directories before filenames, so directories are mixed in with the file names now. Videos didn't work initially, and required a re-download of the codec pack. Codec support is still weird, in that videos that play fine by going through the videos menu, won't play inside of the media center interface. It also seems to have too much of the "are you sure you want to do that?" Vista UAC type crap.

I didn't know about bypassing the avatard creation. Too bad you can't delete the 'tard and do without.

The simplified blade interface by hitting the silver "X" ball is nice, and would be better if you could make that the default.

That reminded me of the "Idiot" amendment that was on our ballot.
On Election Day, Iowa voters will have more to consider than just the usual public offices. Also on the ballot is what some Iowans are referring to as the "Idiot Amendment." The proposed amendment to the Iowa Constitution regarding voting limitations for mentally incompetent Iowans finally makes it onto the ballot 11 years after Rep. Pam Jochum, D-Dubuque, and former Rep. Betty Grundberg wrote the proposal. The proposed amendment affects Article II 5 ("Disqualified Persons"), which currently reads: "No idiot, or insane person, or person convicted of any infamous crime, shall be entitled to the privilege of an elector." Iowans are asked to vote on whether to strike "idiot" and "insane person" from ; in place of the outdated and offensive terminology, "mentally incompetent" will be inserted into the Constitution.

  21. Re:Forced social games on Former Gamers Want More Social Games · · Score: 3, Insightful

MMOs killed my favorite.. LAN gaming. We had an active group of LAN gamers that got together about every other month. We had about 50 or so people show up to game and talk smack and drink bawls. Then Evercrack, DAOC, and finally WoW whittled away the people that showed up. When the LANs finally died we had about 20 or so people, and about half of them would log into their MMO accounts.

One bright thing though, there is an annual LAN coming up next month, and since it is rare, there is less MMO bullshit going on.

My congressman, a Democrat, is up this time, and after researching the candidates, decided to go with the Green party. I also will be holding my nose voting for Obama. I'd vote for the Greens if I thought it wouldn't end up benefiting McCain/Airhead.
