Not that I agree entirely with it, but the law in question was actually designed originally to "protect the french languange in Quebec" seeing as the province is in a (mostly) english-speaking country. It came at the time in a response to the problem for the french-speaking population to actually understand the signage in its environment, since much of the companies/etc. were run primarily by the english-speaking. However, this did not have entirely the desired effect (of course, this depends on perspectives) since the result was mass exodus from Montreal to Toronto as far as company headquarters were concerned. Anywayz, the issue always was a bit of a touchy issue for the province.

I usually get passed by most traffic when going at 120kph (75mph) in a 70kph (45mph) zone at 3 am (closing time for bars) when there's little traffic and no pedestrians.

Taking advantage of the fact that light emitted from a laptop display is naturally polarized to begin with, a 3D stereoscopic effect can be achieved by covering half the screen with a cellophane sheet in order to construct orthogonally polarized left and right scenes while the viewer wears eyeglasses holding two polarizers oriented 90 degrees apart...

Actually removing the program does not actually block messenger. There are many clones out there that use the same protocol and servers that messenger uses (trillian, JMSN, etc).
