Come on guys, this is a Russian Tabloid. Can't you choose a better source for "news". I've seen some pretty hokey things in there. See the "UFO" link on the left side?
What's your point? It was clear to that you weren't going to jump for shore at that point, even after I had gotten you close enough to do so. My only option was to jump on and get you to safety. My wife could see us at that point and could tell the coroner that the puddles of goo were you and me if we didnt make it.
You say you live a half mile away and that you believe Commerce Park is a recreation area? I'm not trying to be rude, but Commerce Park is a Technology and research park. Also, no one really works for Y-12, the work for BWXT-Y12, which does have good benefits, and pay is based on education. Are you sure you didn't visit X-10(ORNL) or K-25(ETTP). They are relatively close (especially X-10). X-10 has lots of high tech computer gagedtry now, especially with the spallation neutron source.
Yeah, and I knew some dumb ass who found a raft in some of that mercury infested water off of Melton Lake, and pushed himself around to a dock... Oh wait that was you:)
1 Billion? That's a little absurd. Let's put this into perspective.
Selling one console per second that would put them at 30 years of selling to reach that goal. I know that they would be selling more than that per second, but it's just something to help put your mind around how large that number is.
Also, what about people the amount of people who don't have electricity, who are too young/old/whatever to play it. Those that wouldn't have the interest, those that wouldn't have the money. I just can't comprehend where someone would get the number of a billion.
Yeah, I had a friend who had a voice activated Clarion AutoPC(Car radio). While talking in the car, sometimes the radio would respond to things that we would say, when obviously we didn't say any of the phrases that should have triggered it. Whe then made it a game to come up with alternate phrases to get the radio to respond. Some of my favorites were.

Ok, this all comes down to jargon.
Maybe, instead of labelling these malicious and/or annoying applications as spyware or malware, these individuals who decide what is spyware and malware and report to us recommendations instead of labels. They can recommend for us not to use certain applications and even put down reasons why. Honestly, most of them already do this, but for some reason in our polictically correct world, words that generalize kill us. To me, if I didn't expressly ok you to install your product on my machine, and it got there, then your product is spyware/malware. I don't know if this is the case with IDownload, but being a toolbar, I'm assuming it is the case.
Actually, studies over the past year have shown that alcohol (especially wine) prevents aging illnesses. However these studies have said that one glass of such per day prevents such and 3 or more a day increases the chances of other types.
I've never seen a study saying the same of one pack or even one cigarette.
Though it wasn't a computer by today's standards, it was my first real interaction with technology. I actually learned to spell using it, though turns out that those displays had a side effect... no lower case. I was in kindergarten and my teachers were suprised that I could read so well, but lost when it came to lower case letters.
When you shut down your inbox, the mail server returns to the spammer that the address was not found. So, this only works with spammers that look for bouncebacks. Well, that's fine, that probably does work for a good number of spammers.
If this is the approach you wish to take, why not configure your server to create bounce backs for people outside of your white list or whatever? Seems like it would be a solution without losing potentially important emails.

I think you should rephrase. Companies will raise prices elsewhere. They already charge more than they have to for the disservice. However, if they feel they can milk a little more out of you, you know they will.
I was in Chinhae(excuse the spelling), South Korea in April of 2001. During this time, the locals were running 8 MB DSL lines to every home in this "small town" of a few hundred thousand people, who have open sewer systems running through their streets. Now, this was a decision that was made by the government of South Korea not long before this time, to work towards making their country a technology powerhouse.
If officials are disappointed that our country doesn't have as much broadband users, then they should work at pushing regulations that can help that, such as getting monopolies like Bell South here in Tennessee, to drop their rates, and allow other providers to use their lines. Just earlier this year, all the 3rd party offerers such as AT&T and MCI had to stop offering DSL because the government sided with Bell South in line use issues. Our DSL runs about $45/month for 1.5 Mb/s. Cable isn't much better, because there is no competition.
For myself, the speed is worth the price, and I pay it. However, for the common user, that price isn't worth the bandwidth.
I think it's wonderful that the SpaceShipOne team one the X Prize. However, I think it went a little outside what the competition was trying to accomplish. I do admit that it is a great achievement, but what I'm referring to is that the prize was for $10 million. In such, I think they were hoping that someone would spend less than that to pull it off with a reusable craft. They obviously spent much more than that. They still did it for less than the US government spends pulling it off though, so they still did prove a lot in the exercize. What do others of you think? I think prizes like this can be great to move our society forward and get individuals active in inovations.
And one can't forget the blatent advertisements for "Space Quest X: Latex Babes of Estros" in "Space Quest IV", or was that "Space Quest XII"... hmmm, damned timelines screw me up.
IMHO, Episodes I and II ruined movies that I considered great in my youth. I mean, many people would have said growing up that the Star Wars trilogy were some of the best science fiction films ever made. Now, I never entirely agreed with that, but they are darn good movies.
After watching the past two releases, I have a bad taste in my mouth. I don't enjoy watching the old movies nearly as much as I once did. They are all part of the same storyline, and for that reason, I find it hard to keep them seperate.
Now, we know that this movie is going to be crap. I mean, we all hope that it will be good, but deep down, I think we all know that Lucas cannot redeem himself. If we refuse, as a group, to see this movie the weekend it comes out, it would make a point. It would send a message out that we will not simply watch whatever they throw at us just because we hold on to some childhood memories. We will not see a movie because the first one did so well. We as a group cannot allow the movie industry to rape us anymore. If they want to continue to raise the price, then we need to continue to empty their theaters.

Yeah, but the article says "1 billion consumers" not 1 billion units.

You mod this parent as funny, but come on, it's actually good marketing.
Oh, very true. Mod parent up.
I could see giving up the info for a good movie, but come on, the Pacifier?? :)

Ah, I had misunderstood. Thanks for the link.

Well, he'll have something to do with his server now. I see only one comment posted to this, and I already get server unavailable messages.

This is only for a BASIC compiler. How many of you that are bothered by this even use BASIC? Hands up please.
What I mean to say is they are not patenting !=, they are patenting "IsNot". From my point of view, who really cares?

Actually, it reminds me of the beginning of the movie "Top Secret", with the song "Skeet Surfing". Man Lucas is just a comic genious
