  1. But it is a peaceful religion!!! on Internet Censorship's First Death Sentence? · · Score: 0, Flamebait

Coming to a country near you...unless the wimps of the would start squishing these morons like the pigs they are. As a matter of fact, take a page from General Pershing and do what he did. Line up about 50 of them. Dip bullets in pig blood. Execute all but one. Take the bodies, toss then into a common grave, pour pig blood & pig body parts on them, cover them up (while the one you let live watches). Let the only survivor go......they did that in the late 1919's era.......NOT ONE more act of terrorism for a long time.

The only thing that bothers me about introducing genetically altered food of any kind into the supply, is, say 10-20 years down the road, what happens if some sort of genetically mutated virus/bacteria gets into the food supply from a genetically altered animal? Screwing around with DNA, when we simply do not completely understand the ramifications can be a little scary. Once altered, if you don't have a 100% pure strain to store, what happens if say, "cows" get to the point where they either die off completely, or are "not fit for human consumption"?

Not to buy the iphone. I looked at it when i bought my at&t Tilt. A. I'm not into games B. I'm not into MP3's/videos C. (personally) I don't like closed source devices. Yes, the MS6 Mobile is a "closed" OS, but at least I can tinker with the registry, add just about any application I want without having to bow to the Apple police. The iphone is a nice device, but I don't like a company telling me what I can and cannot install. It's MY PHONE. I'll install what I damn well please.

Kill it, let people forget about it for a few years, THEN bring it back. Hopefully by that time, Rick Berman (however you spell it) will have died off and some other writer can bring back this franchise.

  10. Tubes rule! on The Transistor's 60th Birthday · · Score: 1

I'm old enough to remember the "glow" of the old tube devices. I worked in a television repair shop in the 70's and remember working on these beasts. Many a finger was singed replacing some of these suckers. Many times I would have a old 6U10 tube fail, causing the 6LQ6 output tube to run away and actually glow cherry red hot! An awesome site to watch, but then the pain of waiting for it to cool down enough to pull out and replace. I miss the days of soldering tube connections back together, removing dead mice or other critters who crawl inside those boxes to keep warm in the winter, then get zapped on the high voltage transformers. Ahhhhh.....the good old days ;)

  12. when everything bricks on Ham Radio Operators Are Heroes In Oregon · · Score: 2, Informative

People turn to the amateur radio community. Check most cities that have a amateur radio club, and you can bet that once or twice a year, you will see them holding a "field day" where they try, in short amount of time, to contact as many other operators across the world, as a contest, and to make sure their "portability" works. This keeps them in tune, in case of a major disaster, when utilities, such as power, phone, CELLULAR fail. We can get the important messages to the outside world. 73's KB0GNK

  14. You do not have a right to vote anyway on How Much is Your Right to Vote Worth? · · Score: 1

Go look it up. "Technically" you do not have a right to vote for President in the first place. It was SUPPOSE to be that we the people, voted for the house of representatives, "the peoples house". State legislatures voted for the senators, "the states house". The senators elected the president from among its members. THAT was the way the constitution was written. I wish it would go back that way. But, with the so called popular elections, the person who gets elected is like a stupid American idol contest! Personally, I think some sort of IQ test or means test should be administered. If you are so stupid you can't find things on a map, cannot tell who at least some of your senators or representatives are, cannot name ONE supreme court judge, or something similar, then you have no business voting. If you are so self absorbed that you cannot keep involved with what is going on in your country, then you have no business voting!

I don't watch or listen to most of the other networks, but, I would fight to the death if someone tried to take them off the air. We are suppose to be a nation of independent thinkers, but, in your "my way or the highway" attitude, you would rather have your socialistic utopia here. After all, socialism and stifling free speech works... it just hasn't been tried by the RIGHT people yet...
