Don't be an idiot. The 8 he receives are all local, with local content, traffic, etc. There's nothing precluding him from getting satellite either, as my HD reciever was all of $120 with Sirius/XM readiness. Get off your high horse and give something a try where you don't have to justify your monthly fee.
So? With your criteria, you miss the guy with 15 years of experience, but never had a need for a certification. I'd be ashamed to miss some great people because of something as silly as that.
I hate to be mean, but you are everything that is wrong with the official boards. You assume that everyone wants what you do. You assume that casuals WANT to raid, but just never will. You assume casuals want to PvP (but quickly changed that to Asians when you were called out). I'm sure you assume raiders are the only ones that should get any good loot, too.
I've heard all of your arguments on the offcial forums. I've heard them from the rest of the very vocal minority from the first day I played Everquest (launch day, so I've been around to hear them all). I've heard them in EQ, in EQ2, in WoW, in Eve, etc.
I'd like to take this opportunity to "thank" a vocal minority for hijacking an entire genre from the majority. At least I'm saving the subscription fees.
BeyondTV records natively to mpeg2, that can be placed directly on a disc and put in your dvd player. If you have a software card, I believe you can record to wmv on the fly.
I think what the parent was saying was that he uses the automatic "Show Squeeze" function to compress the mpeg recordings down to wmv at an acceptable bitrate for his iPaq, and then just drags them onto it in the morning before he goes to work.
ShowSqueeze is pretty nifty for things like that, especially since it has optional time constraints on when it will run.
Take a look around you. People STILL do stupid things, like jump skateboards down stairs, riding rails, etc...
If you could simply turn off the pain receptor, you're turning off what is essentially a survival mechanism. In this case, the recurring pain is a constant lesson to not do that again. If Joe Skateboarder can just turn off the pain any time he gets hurt, what's to stop him from trying to ride the edge of a building that's three stories tall? Only death is an unacceptable injury then.
I'll propose one: Throw their asses out. But oh, that's not politically correct in this day and age, is it? Or better yet, quit letting them in until diplomacy actually works (which we know it never will).
No, of course I don't think that it's the right thing to do, but you asked for options, and I'm tired of worrying about peoples feelings that are costing people their lives and liberty.
Interestingly enough, I've never had any ill will towards Canada.
Unfortunately, due to the singular stupidity and misplaced nationalism of one citizen, I now feel compelled to invade Canada with my army of my wife and nine year old son.
We forsee this to be short campaign, as my military VASTLY overpowers Canada's. We will do all we can to limit collateral damage on our deep-strike campaign against the aformentioned idiot
Stand by Canada, liberation is on its way!
(all kidding aside, you sir, are an idiot who's obviously never done much research into history)
I relied on the announcement from John Smedley, President of Sony Online Entertainment.
The announcement can be found on the eq2players website, dated 7 Jan 2005.
How's that relying on Slashdot for my news?
Adventure packs were announced last week there Mr. Smartypants. On or around the 7th of Jan.
And they DO milk you. They charge extra for everything from extra character slots to access to their extra "features" on their web site.
Some people find these things "worth it", but I certainly don't. I payed Sony for 5 years of EQ1, I bought EQ2. I played it for a month and watched them start nickle-and-dime people, watched the lame excuse for solo and casual content, and left.
Yes, you CAN buy it for the desktop and get support, 24/7 if you need it.
Of course, then I think of the fact that I've never had to call support myself, as the answers to almost any question can be found online if you need it (yes, I know, hardware is a different thing, but you can get hardware support very easily).
Conspiracy? Wow, that's a really strong word to throw into the FUD campaign. It will certainly have people looking at Linux with even more doubt.
Hopefully, the judicial system will work in this case and force SCO to actually prove their side of the issue.
SPEND LESS!
My income is not going up proportionatly to rate of increase in taxation and inflation. At what point will they consider that we just can't AFFORD to pay them any more?
I'm expected to budget myself to live within my means. Why can't the government (state, federal,et al) do the same?
You're actually paying for a year of support with the purchase of one of the Advanced Server (and derivative) products.
As a matter of fact, prices have been lowered in the new pricing structure, but limitations have been placed on number of processors and amount of memory that may be used.

Then you haven't done jack-shit with your computer.

100% agree with you. The reality distortion field is in full effect.
That's what they thought when they took the gun off of the F-4 as well.

I already pay for it, through my workplace. Now I get to pay for it twice.
How does my comment indicate in any way that I wouldn't pay for insurance? I've seen no valid argument for wealth redistribution yet.
LOL...well, that's what you get while posting during a conference call :)
That's easy. When someone says something BLATENTLY incorrect, it's human nature to correct the statement so it's not accepted as fact.
Regardless of wether or not you agree with liberals or conservatives, saying that liberals don't force their views on others via law is incorrect.
And I'll miss James Doohan as much as the next guy.
Explain welfare and medicaid, and that guy FICA who steals part of every one of my paychecks then.
You're argument falls flat in the face of the fact that everyone doesn't use one internal combustion engine.

That it was painted out of poop might have had something to do with it. (that is, if I remember the story right)

But can you happily dive from 1000+ feet into water? 500? 300? 200? Better do a little research before YOU get the Darwin.
There's a reason people that jump off bridges die, and it's generally not drowning or hypothermia.
Your quick to judge mentality disgusts me. Maybe he is on neither side of that ridiculous spectrum. It's possible he was just making commentary.
You need to do better research.

This isn't insightful, it's pandering to the stereotypes of southern culture.
Have you ever BEEN to Texas or any of those southern states?
