Hire someone in India to take these calls. Give him a nice title and put his phone number on your website. Pay the Indian guy by the number of hours he keeps the caller on the phone.
Last week I receveied a letter in the e-mail telling me I had won a lottery and asking me for my bank information. Unlike the Nigerian scams, this was sent from Spain by snail mail. I've seen Nigerian scam e-mails before but this is the first phishing snail-mail I've received
Doesn't the patch itself give away the location of the flaw? Comparing the size of files in the two installations should tell you which parts have been patched. I'm assuming a serious flaw means an explotable buffer overflow.
At least 45 people whose jobs involved ordering and distributing AOL's free promotional CDs were told last month to take paid leave and look for new jobs, according to one executive who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the news media.
A larger portion of the cuts are expected to come from AOL's business in Europe, where AOL has said it is negotiating to sell its dial-up-related business to European telecommunications firms.
Since the beginning of the year, AOL has shed 1,300 positions, mostly in its call centers in Florida and Arizona. The majority of jobs expected to be eliminated in this round are in the marketing and other divisions related to recruiting new subscribers. AOL and Time Warner executives said they found those efforts were no longer profitable and said they plan to end them.
I could be wrong about this but I think they go by your IP address. If you use your user id from a new IP address, you'll be asked one security questions out of three security questions on your account profile. You'll only be shown the SiteKey if get the question right.
How would the phisher be sure his script would get the same question from the BofA website.
You'll recall the recent tossing-out of the guy that was put in there by the last president, primarily because he did such a lousy job stewarding the agency's prediction of events like 9/11.
Why do people assume taking ethics courses makes people more ethical. I'm sure Jeffrey Skilling and Ken Lay too ethics courses when they got their MBAs.
In the US, generic versions are created after the patent expires. In India, they have process patents. You can make a Viagaralike drug that's identical to the Pfizer drug as long as you use a different process. It's basically a legal ripoff.
I have no experience of education outside the US, but I can say confidently that public education in my country sucks.
Public school education in the US doesn't suck..it's just being dumbed down a little in the quest to leave no child behind....Some children will always be left behind. That's just the way it's going to be.
American parents expect their kids to do well in school without any parental involvement. Parental involvement is the foundation of a good education. A lot of people have lost sight of this.
If that happens, more men will buy GM/Form cars. With google maps in the car, they can get where they want to go without having to stop and ask for directions.
I'd say that Time Warners IP is more valuable and durable than googles IP. Google is more innovative than Time Warner but the value of their IP will sink if the pace of innovation slows. If google stops innovating today, MSN could catch up in 2-3 years. OTOH, TimeWarner's IP is in the form of movie/music rights which will always retain some value.
How long before "someone" calls up people to tell them their SSN was stolen in the Lexis-Nexis break-in and asks them to verify their SSN/address so that they can receive "free" credit protection. I'm willing to bet at least 10% of people called will give away their own information.
If your password is something you've ever written on your computer,
When I was house-hunting, I saw houses where people had theie root passwords written on post-its stuck to their monitors...and an IP address. As we moved from the basement to the study upstairs, the bookshelves were full of books on "Computer forensics". Either these machines were honeypots or the IT security guy selling the house is clueless.
I have some issues with my internet service(Adelphia), not with my VoIP provider(Vonage). There's a two second delay before the conversation starts but other than that, I am generally happy with my service. I have the 15$/month plan and I never run out of minutes. I use a cell phone for long distance calls. You can set it up so that if your internet connection is down, the calls to your VoIP line get forwarded to your cell phone(or office phone if you prefer). I had a problem using a VPN connection when I had the VoIP box in front of my linksys router. You can open up the right port to fix that but i've been too lazy. I have the VoIP box behind the linksys router and it works fine.
I DO have a problem with using multiple lines. You have to plug in your phones to the VoIP box. You can fix that by cutting off the power supply coming from your LEC line.
They are concerned Lenovo employees might be used to conduct industrial espionage.
Are they worried about Lenovo employees(presumably Chinese) spying on the companies they sell laptops too? for e.g., if a laptop from a defense contractor is sent to a Lenovo facility for servicing, are they afraid the Lenovo employees might get some information they shouldn't be getting? Aren't IBM laptops serviced by third parties anyway? Where exactly is the potential for industrial espionage?
It would probably also mean a tax hike, something that Dubya would like to avoid at all costs.
Wouldn't it be something that the Chinese would like to avoid at all costs..a tax hike for the largest consumer market for their products will be like a tariff on their exports.
What's with the image of what looks like a hindu holy man with a trident?
Aren't we doing that when we buy iphones made overseas?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Or spend millions to come up with a new name like Sprint.
George Tenet was awarded a presidential medal of freedom.. Not exactly a tossing out of underperformers..

If you see a dupe in 3 hrs, it's a slashdot article.
Use the Last Tab extension.

AOL: You've got VoIP
Either way, I'm sure they'll do a better job than most parents.
They should have called it CAN'T-SPAM....What do they expect from people when you tell them they can spam..
