    I would say that the # of titles "stolen" are far more than those sold.

    there are *gasp* other sports out there that don't generally include getting wasted w/your buddies (although at alumni events they sometimes do ;-))

    Individuals that train in a team setting (playing on local servers) but compete on an individual basis in tournaments (like Quakecon).

    Yeah, typically in these sort of events (*gasp again*) you don't typically root for a team, you root for your favorites...

    Most sports seem to be heading this way as it is (long ball hitters w/shit teams, kick ass players that carry the whole team)

    I would think that the people from JYW could come up w/a far better space vehicle from the scrap heap (at least it would be better looking -- there was some guy that painted their creation to make it look nice).

    Sorry but I really don't feel that at $550k this is worth it. It is in terrible condition and would need tons of restoration work.

    I think that it should be donated to a museum or at least reduced in price...

    honestly, does it matter anyway? They are giving away patents left and right. Other countries don't accept them. They are basically worthless.

    I say we need to do some work and improve the system before we start expoiting it.

    You have to buy the PS2 devel kit (only if you are in .jp) - $250

    You have to buy this X server which you know isn't going to come cheap. - $$$

    Now, explain to me how the PS2 (which is already a computer that carries a decent price) would be a viable platform for home Internet/set-top box technology..

    I still feel that a computer w/a small size and Linux/Windows would still be less money than a PS2+goodies.

    yeah, this is true, but it is MS that has it turned on by default w/o letting the average user (which by the way is their intended target) know.

    it is both MS's responsibility and the user's. I agree that the user should know what the hell he is doing, but MS should not have *ANY* service installed by default w/o telling the end user (especially when targeting the market they are).

    They probably understand the fact that there is VERY little that they can do (other than blocking port 80) than inform their users of what to do. At least they are giving "Worm? I have a worm in my computer? There's no dirt in there" guys the information.

    As much as I hate Verizon and their bullshit, at least they are trying to do something.

    Gotta give em SOME credit ;)

    they said that they are filming this as one long movie, not two... Interesting.

    I hope to see more story and less visual crap. Every movie out these days has "Matrix-like" moves and it is just getting old. I would really hope that the next one is just as groundbreaking as the first.

    sorry but for a basically limitless budget for a movie I can't think of *any* reason why he would want to name it "Attack of the Clones". I am sure that someone behind the scenes had to have had a much better title...

    The first movie basically sucked. I don't even want to think about what this one is going to be like w/a name like that.

    Want to see the limitless budget die? Keep the name.

    Netscape 6.1 is slow as hell for me right now. 128mb and a dual 400. At least this version will actually run. 6.0 wouldn't get past the download...

    I don't like any of the Mozilla builds, they crash constantly and don't work that well. This has been all right so far, but I expect the same problems I always see.

    Probably going to be stuck w/4.77 for the rest of eternity.

    I am noticing quite a bit of hits coming w/in 1-2 minutes of each other from the same IP. They come in three in a row now...

    I am apparently lucky as I have yet to see too too much traffic yet I feel it has only begun... :(

    wrong. It was quite boring. Linux is still too hard for the typical Joe while XP will do everything for them. Average Joe is still frightened of Linux in general and they are "comfortable" w/Windows.

    XP in time, will have everything that it should, Linux in time will too, they are just currently worlds apart.

    If you are going to write an article comparing them don't bother to compare their login screens.

    In my experience you either (1) want Windows to look as far from Linux as possible (or you end up trying to type commands everywhere that are for the other OS) (2) Linux is not comparable to Windows in any way/shape/form (3) this article was pointless. Great, XP has logins, who cares?

    no, a dynamic IP does nothing to really help... They scan for your system in a range of IP's, find you, hop on to you, tag your system (now no matter what IP you have they know where you are), and play w/you.

    Static IP's are a conveinience not a necessity. I don't personally believe that they should cost the large sums that most ISP's charge (the ones I have used don't charge much).

    I don't think that having PPPoE is a good thing personally, one more bit of overhead on a conjested network...

    If it will fix my 1000+ms pings to the gateway, I will love it. Otherwise, out w/the new, in w/the old.

    I agree. I have only bought Slackware. The rest of the distributions I have used have either been downloaded or on CD for near nothing ($1 or the like).

    I have just started to use my PDA for something other than my schedule.

    I have a digital camera that uses CF cards. I swap the CF card out of the camera, pop it into the PDA and viola, I have all the files.

    MP3's, etc are all on there as well. Nothing like sitting on long airplane trips w/MP3's, Spy Hunter, and Solitare ;-)

    My father recently purchased an iPAQ (I have a Cassiopeia). He just bought a 1G microdrive ($385.00 blew my mind) and stores TONS of crap on there. MP3's, pictures, games, etc.

    My Cassiopeia is slow as hell (especially during transfers, mp3's, etc) but his iPAQ is quite fast. I can only say that PDAs have come along way from the crap that Palm has put out (no comments on my opinion please)

    The space available these days for the price is amazing. That 1G microdrive is tiny. At this point in time I don't see the point to conserving space and features... 500k. Bleh.

    they tried this w/other people held in jail for whatever reason. No one gives a shit about people in jail. If I saw an advertisement to let "John Smith Out of Prison" I would skip over it, annoyed that they made me turn another page in the paper.

    I pay $1.00+ for a newspaper only to see someone who supposedly is a criminal? Get real.
