Then don't advertise something that it's not. Say it's a 5mbit burstable connection and 1mbit sustained. Or say right there on your advertisement, "We are like every other ISP and oversell our bandwidth and then cry later when people use it." I'd have more respect for your whining.

Yes, you will lose customers but they will be in the 10% bracket that you don't want anyway. Let those people use real ISPs and let your lame ISP cater to the Mom and Pop's that check e-mail, CNN, and look at porn while the wife is out at her book club once a week.

Well, given that 80% of their $5.6 billion in operating profit (from TFA) is derived from ink and toner, they are not going to allow it to slip away. Otherwise they could potentially lose about $4bn in profit.

And that is exactly why I buy a new HP deskjet printer every single time it runs out of ink. They are $10 less than a new print cartridge and I *usually* end up with a free USB cable out of the deal.

I bought an HP Deskjet 400C on the first day of college in 1997. It worked for 5 years. While printing the 40th copy of my final paper in college it died. Literally pieces of metal started rolling out w/the paper. I haven't found a single non-laser printer that will last more than 5 weeks.

I'm happy to continue taking their money when I buy a new printer each time.

Note: I use Google Maps constantly as part of my job and personal use.

ask.com's map stuff is *far* superior to Google Maps for the general user. Not only are their maps more up to date (and allow for zooming in further in more areas) but it works just as smoothly.

What about it? I don't care how much the Wii costs, from what I have seen (mostly here because no one else seems to give a shit about it) it won't offer me what I like to play. The XBox and the PS3 do/will.

Personally, the Wii is the first console I'm planning on buying since the Playstation 1, and it's the 1st one I am hoping to spend a decent amount playing since SNES (I only ended up owning 3-4 PS 1 games, got it more out of habit than actual want and dropped out of gaming since).

I owned one game for the PS1. I owned a couple more for the PS2 because it came with 5. I play three (GT1 -- originaly for the PS1, Katamari and We Love Katamari) on the PS2. I don't see what your point is that you will be buying more games for the Wii...

I would rather there be a single game for a system that I can play for hours on end for several years (I have been playing GT1 reguarly since 1998) than if I could buy 10s of games that I will complete and not be interested in again.

I haven't made my descision on which console I will end up buying but it certainly won't be the Wii. While I know that is an unpopular stance here on Slashdot (the Wii talk here reminds me of the Mac loving Slashbotters and what Linux used to be here).

If they were going to re-route people they could send a couple of SMSs (or the entire message if you have a decent cell phone that merges "large" SMSs into one) with the text directions of where they need to go.
