  1. Re:Not acceptable on Proposed CA Bill Would Create Domestic Offender Database · · Score: 1

Your debt to society is paid, unless, of course, you're a drug offender (even low level marijuana possession... ) Drug felons can't vote, own a handgun/possess ANY kind of weapon in most states (including, but not limited to, knives, box cutters, exacto blades, pepper spray/mace, stun guns, etc.).. They also can't get any kind of federal financial aid for school, any kind of federal housing assistance, cash assistance, food assistance, and in many states, even medical assistance is limited. I'm willing to bet drug offenders will be up next for a registry..

So if RIAA gets money from blank CD's, and an unsigned artist is producing their own albums, burning their own CD's, then..

Who is stealing from who? Are people downloading music stealing from the artists (many who are buying their merchandise and attending their concerts), or is the recording industry stealing from unsigned artists?

Why should I, as an unsigned artist, be paying money for every blank CD I use to record my music?

Torture happens on U.S. soil also. In 2003, I was in the Spokane County Jail for 40 days..

They refused to let me eat a religiously vegan diet, I went from 165 lbs down to 130 lbs in 40 days, due to not receiving enough food that I was able to eat. They also recorded in the records that I WAS eating meat, which was factually incorrect.

They would switch my diet to a vegan for a few days before they would weigh me, then switch it back immediately after weighing me, as if they were trying to put a little weight on me before they weighed me, so in all likelihood, I was UNDER 130 lbs..

Welcome to America, where your religious rights no longer count, and they can refuse to feed you food that is compatible with your religous beliefs.

You are assuming that you can PROVE that you were not read your Miranda rights. If you don't have any witnesses, you have no proof. They're going to take the cops word over yours.

Also, in Spokane, Washington, the cops don't read you your rights, you get read them the NEXT day by the "telescreen" judge, by a judge that you see through a TV with a camera system.

AOL is the most popular ISP because it comes pre-installed on a lot of computers, and the people signing up for it don't know they're selling their soul and you have to wait upwards of an hour to reach anyone in cancellation... Which is basically the only way to cancel.. Sending in the letters, the letters don't seem to make it there.. Hmm..

It's REAL easy to sign up, almost impossible to cancel without cancelling your credit card.. I know several people who had to do this.. and they have an indemnification clause that says if you want to sue AOL, you're paying for their lawyers..
