    you are wrong about ATI 3D support under Linux. There is a binary driver to support all modern hardware, including 3D accelerated. This is the driver i use with my Radeon 9800. Look it up on the ATI web site.

    If they were supplying a fan and heatsink that would never need replacement, they might be on a more moral high ground, but having a stock fan that dies easily and then claiming you void the warranty if you correctly replace the heat sink isn't user friendly.

    Unlike the 737 and 747, which have been continuously upgraded, it's essentially unchanged. Almost as outdated as the 707.
    The reason it is grounded isn't due to its ancient design, the Concorde still runs fine. It's the economical downturn we are in that prompted its end.

    a.) Linux will probably one day support WM formats. Thus no more bitching that you don't have the right OS to watch the cool vids that fly around here sometimes.

    Since I do not want to "upgrade" from windows media player 6.4 to 9 on my win2k box, I acctualy use mplayer on Linux to checkout the odd WM9 files I come across !
    That said, I understand that for some, official support would be welcome.

    Would this tax work the other way around ? If a country outside the US has a higher labor cost, should they get tax deducted ?
    I ask this because we pay a whole lot more tax in the country I live in.

    Yes, but the point is they don't need to keep the IRC client, the WYSIWYG HTML editor, the Web browser interface, the JavaScript debugger, the DOM Inspector since you can chose not to install all of the above, I still don't get it...

    9.1 "final" is available right now (checkout the mirror list).

    The /. effect hasn't kicked in yet since I'm maxing out my ADSL download (64KB/s).

    Unfortunatly, it comes with MySQL 4.0.11, KDE 3.1... when MySQL 4.0.12 (production release) and KDE 3.1.1... just came out.

    I agree with you on the low voltage for desktop CPUs but your example isn't appropriate. My IBM ThinkPad 570 with a PII 333 mobile displays DivXs in full screen (1024x768) without a single frame drop. (tested under win2k + BSPlayer, but probably runs as well under Linux + mplayer).
