    Also, unpaid internships are generally illegal in America.

    Unpaid internships are not necessarily illegal. It all depends on what the intern is doing.

    Unfortunately, for laws to matter, they have to be enforced. Illegal unpaid internships go on all the time and no one cares.

    If you're dumb enough to wear your tracking device to the scene of the crime, then what do you really expect?

    And if you are actually innocent? There appears to be evidence that innocent people were caught up in the dragnet arrests.

    Stop assuming that everyone who is arrested is guilty.

    Really, I thought that the speed was fixed by the need to be synchronous with the grid.

    Looking at the wind farm near me, it's quite obvious that all the turbines of each type rotate at the same speed for that type (or they are stopped).

    In my humble opinion, they are a bunch of shits.

    I tried to help some nuns by getting Niantic to delist some Pokemon Go places on the convent's private grounds (at the request of the nuns).

    There was construction going on at the time. Despite uploading photos of the construction, showing that the area was dangerous, despite uploading photos of signs and fencing indicating that the area was private, Niantic would not remove the stops from the convent grounds.

    Anyone who gets hurt playing Pokemon Go should sue Niantic, because there is a likelihood that Niantic has already been told that the area is dangerous.

    My son had this happen to him. A house for sale in San Francisco was listed with his number. I told him to just tell callers that the house was already sold.

    I always have to laugh when someone brings up the terrible driver support in Linus, which by corrolary sends teh Message that Windows has superlative support.

    There are lots of webcams and printers that are not supported under Windows, yet remain supported under Linux.

    Let's be realistic: the whole "non-existent drivers under Linux" was always nothing more than a marketing ploy by Microsoft.

    I ran into a worse problem recently.

    The website runs some javascript on the entered email address, which prompts a server somewhere to attempt to validate the email address. The attempt is achieved by beginning an smtp transaction to the MX host for the domain name.

    Now, combine this with postgrey: the mail server sends back a temporary failure, which the server stupidly interprets as the email address not being valid.

    The stupidity of this whole setup is monumental. Not least because exchange servers will accept emails for non-existent addresses in its default configuration.

    The reality is that most customers won't care.

    * Note: this was deliberate. As others have pointed out, you don't accidentally put ads into an app. Also, why wasn't it pulled immediately? This was a deliberate attempt to test the reaction to ads in the keyboard app.

    If they are mostly unenforceable, then banning them would have little effect.
