I live where I live because my history saw my father now deceased help send men to the moon. I could say a lot of things but a few rough points come to mind.
NASA needs to fire its astronaut crew all but say 4 or 5 key persons and recruit a whole new astronaut crew set for 7 year hitches that plan on their being sent out to get a real job afterwards. The new astronaut crew should be recruited from persons who are US Citizens and who are aged 16 to 19. Of course they should be exceptional persons. We have plenty and they are being treated like crap now.
These young persons take the point. They should be recruited from our high schools and they will know what to do with space. The old dumb dead heads at NASA haven't a clue and it should be obvious to all. These young pioneers will help us with so many things if this is done.
But we have to be a bit nationalistic here. We cannot afford the luxury of spending our national treasure on the children of other nations. This is not dislike of others. It is just proprietary interest. This extends to the spin off tech. Currently such tech will go first to China because of our arrogant trade policy that disrespects our own children.

So lets just be polite and let you look up a few bits of data on Tardive Dyskinesia . Be sure to crank up your search engine on the various drugs used to treat and I noted the general classes.
I long ago found that those who demanded such proof usually don't accept it when presented. Regards to the Zoloft, Prozac etc class of stuff the data is coming up everywhere to the point that the FDA is starting to have to take note. The black box warnings are starting to show up! About 20 years late! Just for the record if you go to the PDR (An advertizement by the drug company) and look up Ritalin, Prozac and several other drugs you will get a real eye full when you take a look at if the drug is effective in children and when you read the warnings. Go ahead if you dare. You may find that as an RN one is a patient advocate and yes I am well supported and yes I have personal clinical experience with this and non-clinical experience. A fellow RN was MURDERED by her son who was on this crap trip passed off by these "Legal" drug pushers who lie a lot. So was her husband! One of their children was murdered and two others were badly hurt. NAMES: YES! Jeffrey Franklin in Huntsville, Alabama was the Murderer. This came out in the court cases and it came out in family lawsuits that succeded in supporting the two badly hurt kids for the rest of their lives. The companies involved had such a damning case against them that they settled out of court eventually in order to hide their guilt.
The specific routes and conditions of damage are well documented. As an RN having to administer such drugs I had to daily document for the side effects that you question if they exist. This is in the extreme level of documentation required by law.
First as an RN who has been present (not treated but watching and post TX caregiver) for ECT. It is a horrid failure. However some vagal nerve stimulation might be of some value. It could hardly be less effective than most of the so called treatments of today. SO MOD this parent up those of you who are mods! If you don't like this post get a life mods!
The FDA studies on this reveal the treatment is of very little if any value. So that makes it light years ahead of the various MAO non-MAO etc Tri-... etc treatments which in a matter of months or years leave the person with a whole complex of debilitating neurologic damage which is perminant or Prozac types which make the person likely to become homicidal and suicidal in too many cases etc. With this all said... I have a strange suggestion for this device. It probably if placed correctly would be an effective treatment for Sleep Apnea.
Heads up you research types. Sleep Apnea represents a suppressor signal in the brain which normally applies to suppressing voluntary activities that has become misdirected to the suppression of the muscle tension in the upper airway and to varous respiratory control centers. This is a candidate begging for this type of treatment.
I have sleep apnea. I know. I have no trouble sustaining my breathing pattern or airway conditions until I fall asleep. CPAP may hold the area open but it would be much nicer to have a little nerve stimulator implanted and have it detect the lack of a signal and to supply it locally.
The good news here is that the FDA when it allows such a device allows it out and it can be applied "off Label" so this can get going now. I am sure that other good uses of such devices exist. Depression however is probably the least likely to apply.
I appreciate your impression that a Corporations only interest is money. This is often true if the company is actually trying to work. When they sink into Keylogging etc they have shifted from money to "power" and the frame of reference has shifted from the company to some individual within the company.
Actually there is a common misconception that money is the objective. It works pretty well in defining the interests of simple and mid to low range economic strata function. Thomas Jefferson pushed the bill of rights ever more forcefully as his french friends began to meet the french razor for their accused state in Paris etc. To be blunt, the bill of rights is not something to prevent us from handling terrorism. It is something to prevent the worst kind of terrorism. STATE TERRORISM by a government who arrests without warrant... Jails on evidence obtained by rash seizures and private secret searches... and which keeps anyone who opposes it marked as enemies of the state.
I have been at some length of effort to determine if the Patriot Act as now constituted has any functionality useful for Anti-terrorism. Bluntly it has none. It hasn't even been used for that purpose effectively. The few arrests under it resulted in charges which were so blithly messed up by the Federal agents that they were useless. If you are inclined to believe some of these arrestees were guilty, the US Attorney General and et al were practically enemy agents sabotaging the cases. If you believe the charged were innocent the Attorney General and his minions were playing Gestapo. Even more scary is the reality that both conditions are probably true!
The bottom line is that no additional powers were needed after 911. The USA was not some phlebe in the world without laws or well practiced experience handling such events. Contrary to the claims that we were, terrorism was noted in the US Declaration of Independence. It has ruled US History until about 1940. The Indian Wars and much more were halmarked by such events. The USA does not need to suspend its legal/constitutional protections in order to deal with Al Qaeda. This act and its extension are just plain wrong. The few effective enforcements we know about are even more scary when we find that they were applied to affairs having nothing to do with any acts of terrorism.

I have bothered around in physics since I was a teenager. I upset the powers that be in 1975 when I told Kirk Vonnegut (Troy NY) some things about lighting and tornados and their electrical effects. By 1995 I talked with the NASA Environmental guys in Huntsville and they told me that He was saying the same as I had said in 1975. I have because of this the dubious honor (not worth a plugged nickel) of being the one who while not credited actually taught NASA how Lightning worked and much on weather science. This is all important because it leads to one conclusion. Sorry for Einstein and the others but GRAVITY as a force does not exist. The force we call gravity is a side vector product of EM Force Density.
I know I will hear from the equation people who are just sure this isn't so. The Physics types will have a cow right there on the spot and well it will go from there. Frankly there are three great errors in Physics other than believing it. (1) The speed of light is not a constant regardless of media or conditions there is a variability even with frequency. This has long been observed. (2) The G constant does not exist. It is one of those funky numbers cooked up to make the equations work. (3) Finally the issue of Signal to Noise ratios makes any observations beyond those of a few light years highly questionable at best. Refraction and bending of light by media make even closer observations come into question and assure that those at millions of light years are entirely fanciful to assume any data is what we think it is. What are we looking at could be reflections of ourselves for all we know.

Now just for a curiosity, I worked on a previous job with the Wife of the Head of the Local FBI office. She was an LPN. One night she told me how she had been living in New York at the time working in Queens. She commuted to work that PM and arrived from her Long Island home without seeing much of anything unusual only to have her supervisor on shift, ask her if she, "had seen that airplane shot down?" The actual number of eyewitnesses and the reports on this event are staggering.
TWA Flight 800 was filmed in Video by not less than 50 parties including good film of the Shoot Down per the report of the people taking the pictures. It was the subject of Still Photos by some 2000 parties and there were not 200 but probably closer to 20,000 eyewitnesses of what was universally reported to be a shoot down incident. A major effort was made to attack the reputation of any witnesses and the video's were all captured by the FBI and the owners were forbidden to even keep copies! This was a first class lock down of information. This event was so well witnessed by location and time that the only way one would have it more observed is if one had advertized it for weeks and sold tickets. The location was optimum for observation by thousands being at a popular beach location and adjacent to major highways and train routes with large populations.
Now that we have suffered 9/11/2001 we cannot deny that there were parties out there trying to do this at the time. We also see a government with motive to hide it. Witness the reaction to the effort to get an open report on 911. Witness the efforts to deny the conclusions of the 911 report and to refuse to respond appropriately to it! We also learned after 911 that there was a flight that was deliberately crashed in that time period by an Al Qaeda type who was Co-pilot of an airliner. It too was denied!
Currently I am wondering something. The case of Terri Shivo in Florida is clearly an effort by some political leaders to cover up and hide something else they are doing. No rational person can argue that Congress as a group gave a rats rump about Terri. They would not even hold a special meeting if we had 2000 people threatened with immediate death if they did not meet. Congress is undeniably that crass. I would like to address a reality regards "martyrdom operations." We have seen thousands of suicide bombings in the middle east in recent years. These appear to be some religeous zeolotry and a few of them are. Most are not! What is going on in the middle east is mostly a case of gangsters of the worst type (even worse than the mafia) who will come and hold a family hostage unless they sacrafice one or more of their children to such operations. This has been exposed in Iraq by the Iraqi TV stations of late and it has cut into the support for such dramatically.
These people are nothing but cold blooded gangsters of the very worst sort ever to appear on earth. Any other presentation is a serious mistake. These gangsters use drugs to completely "Zombify" some persons into doing this as well. Their history of doing so is where we in the English Language get the word Assassin. This accounts for most of what we in the west mistakenly think is religious extremism.
Regards using life in prison to deprive these people of "Martyrdom" is another western IDIOTIC MORONIC notion. I have in my past worked as Registered Nurse in the Tennesse State Prison Hospital. (1996-1997 time period) During that time I learned about the internal dynamics operation in a prison. Essentially prisons are run by the inmates. They splinter into 3 groups in order to survive. Whites join the Skinheads or die at the hands of the Black Gangs. (Prison population is about 80% Black) The only alternative is to join Islamic Gangs. Odd man out dies or has a miserable life. Islamic Gangs being the dynamic power brokers they dominate the prison evironment and did so well before 911. Sentancing someone to life in prison who is a genuine Al Qaeda type leader claiming Islamic Status is like giving them a life tenured position in an Al Qaeda College. They train all the short term persons. It is like putting an Al Qaeda recruiter on perminant state payroll.
This is what we saw when the orginal WTC Bombers were organizing and running the 911 coordination from a New York State Prison. Please note that my experience is prior to 911! Our prisons were already inflitrated by Al Qaeda prior to 911 and I saw it then.

I have seen this first hand having actually handled the paperwork on such deals. Let me just lay the pattern. In the mid 1980's when this crap really got started I was running a Cabinet Shop and wanted to really start growing. When I went to my bank who routinely loaned me lots of 90 day money and asked for some 2 year money secured over 500% with property they turned me down. I went to the recommended classes by the local banks on raising the money. The gist is: (1) Give a big donation to the local officials who are on the town council for their reelection bids. (2) They get the Industrial Development Board to build and equip your factory and even train your people using "School Tax Money." (3) Your factory and its equipment is tax exempt. (4) You keep the money flowing to the local / state officials and all will be happy.
When I call this Faschism I know exactly what I am talking about and I have been there to see it in action. I have actually handled the paperwork on such deals. This crap is why I am not a Cabinet Maker now! I got out because it was clear that the bankers didn't want to allow me to grow. Remember in the USA if you actually try to grow by Equity the IRS destroys your efforts so don't give me the crap about why didn't you try to just save etc. If you equity fund you have to take it out of your customers.

The reason for this is a simple little bit of US TAX policy which these CEO types demanded and got passed. It seems that the more money you earn for the company the more taxes they must pay or they will have to move the job off shore to avoid the taxes as Ms C. did. Of course if you make any money, you had best sop it up into CEO pay rather than pay stockholders because of US Tax law as well. This is why US CEO's act like companies are their own private cookie jar.

To be specific having spent the last 3 years working on XML I can suggest that there are numerous problems with XML.
XML Tagging is tedious and stupidly top heavy in overhead. Contrary to being human friendly it isn't. XML Tagging should be shortened to a simple set of defined tag names and then type definitions. After that each name would be addressed by an index. Typing of data should be contained in a process to extract that is associated with either the tagging index or an over the top wrapper which is similar in function to the DTD. But frankly the whole process is currently a mess.
The expansion of data with tagging currently can be as much as 3 or 4 to one. This is because of the recursive parsing process if you are recovering data a gemetricly expanding time consumer. If you use linear display the process is nearly worthless for anything but a single display process. It works great for short things. In short it just eats up processing time and band width. It makes a good universal file storage structure and that is it!
Once the file is retreived it should be crunched into something like MySQL or such if any real processing is going to happen.
Nothing really is gained by such a markup system over just a series of hashed tags that are indexed. Such tagging and indexing is a lot less of a tax on band width.
This having been said, XML works and is OK for many uses. I am not sure it really has any advantage over flat files or such. It drinks band width and program operations time. I think in time it will turn out to be a fun toy but not much else. Of course someone else might find a good way to tell me why I should use 40 characters to transmit what should have taken 10 characters and how it should have been faster or more efficient some way to use it. The whole concept was definitely good for a lot of programmer payroll time.
Being aware of Apollo stuff and some successive stuff this is just a natural progression. The really good thing here would be to get the patient out of the hospital and away from all of those nasty germs growing in that germ factory called a hospital. Your health gets in greater danger the closer you get to a hospital. They are really dangerous. Just to clarify I am an RN and I do know what I am talking about.
Hospitals have a risk of infection that is horrid. The problem is population density. In a 100 bed hospital your chances of catching something there in 3 days is about 10% or less. If the hospital has 500 beds it is about 50% Don't even think of those 2000 or so bed hospitals! What is worse your risk is of really nasty (Germ Warfare types etc) bugs getting to you like MRSA and Hemolytic Strep etc.
The best thing we could do for public health in the USA is to reduce the size of our hospitals dramatically. Following right behind that we should for the exact same reasons cut down on the size of our schools and especially get rid of or reduce daycares!

At risk of telling the terrorists how (like they don't already have somebody who knows more than myself telling them) I am going to lay out just how difficult it is to come up with a U-235 device. First take the U-235 and powder it in a inert gas environment. Then Sinter it like a ceramic (very hot here) into two hemispheres or use C-4 to explosively form it into a hemisphere. The latter method is probably the best and fastest. Once formed place one hemisphere on a plate of armor plate steel attached to the muzzle of an Artillery tube say 155 or so. With a fashioned shell probably best aluminum cased load the other hemisphere in the shell to be fired in the gun. Weld the whole thing severely shut with high grade steel with a few slits near the muzzle end to allow pressure to decrease but not clear through. The whole thing needs strong containment.
That is about it for the bomb building except delivery. Difficult but not impossible. The problem of getting the U-235 is difficult but not impossible and takes far less resources than in the old days. The cost is well within those of a fairly rich person. Essentially the process is to take Uranium Hexafloride and Ionize it into a particle accelerator. Taking a set of high tech magnets send the gas down the accelerator tube and the magnets will aim the streams. This process used to be really expensive of energy and such but frankly isn't very expensive due to advanced magnets developed under the US Navy's Advanced Propulsion Project and now made in China... (Anyone suspecting North Korea here is right)
It is probably pretty easy to do this by a chemical process in presence of these strong magnets as well. Something similar to Chromotography. But for those who will argue, this isn't free. It probably could be done for several million dollars now. It would be a lot cheaper in a 3rd world country where you don't care too much about the junk you throw around or the people exposed to it.
If I place a webpage out where any party may browse to it and obtain information without a special password or other control mechanism on it to prevent actual casual access to it I have placed it in the "Public Domain." Point A noted yes I do understand public domain. The problem here is that these guys didn't understand it. This is just like a person placing a statement in the open and complaining that someone heard it.
I have been developing for people who want to have something secured on line. Well I must admit that it is a considerable chore. But I knew that if I placed information out where a browser could pick it up, it would be picked up. Again only an idiot or an ignorant fool in today's world would assume that placing an open website without proper lockup of data that said data would not be used any way a browsing machine or person wanted. Robots exist. Get with the program. I could see that if a person were to break the security mechanisms and get the data they would be stealing or misusing the data. But if these people expect to make a quote on line to any party without proper mechanisms to prevent it from being picked up and used they may as well forget it.
Just for the record there are long recognized legal precidents that conclude that any party who publishes data openly is subject to it being seen. Attempting to rewrite these Common Law protections into the Copyright Law is ignorant. Attempting to enforce a copyright on something you placed into the public domain is unlikely to survive.
Objecting to my using a robot to compare prices isn't likely to work either. If you published your price, well it is not exactly a secret. This is the problem with internet businesses. They made their living because of the extremely low overhead associated with their market in undercutting the traditional businesses such as travel agents. Now that these agents are gone, they find themselves cutting each other up. There is nobody else left. (Happy fight guys you started it!) They attempt to live by denying the ability of determining competing prices in a market they created based upon such. It will not work. Even if they are successful in fighting 3rd party use, they will fail due to easy comparison. They need to get another business model.
The problem of no information on line didn't appear when net rights were losely enforced. This doesn't seem to be a problem for anyone who understands that the net is open! It only seems to be a problem for those who want to own the net.
I find it objectionable that somebody would place data in the public domain like on the net and then expect that they can actually hope to control it. My objection comes from my gut reaction to IDIOTS.

On Pine trees they don't lose their leaves in any less a dramatic fashion than do Maple trees. They just do it at a different time of the year. They lose their leaves just after the spring bloom when they already have the new set in place. Yes they do spread it out some otherwise but they do have a particular time to lose leaves.
The whole problem with genetic engineering is that the complexity of the situation makes for profound and unintended consequences from small actions. We have a lot of examples of this kind of thinking that the author of the article portrays and its results.
The gypsy moth is one example. Bred to give north America a silk industry it laces the area with big silk nets as it kills whole forests. The same kind of idiotic thinking brought us hundreds of ferrel species and now we have everything from Starlings to Pepper Trees. The results are just awful.
I could sound like an opponent of Genetic Engineering. That would not be so. I am a fan of it being wisely applied. The problem here is that people are not being wise at all in the industry. Everything from the "Terminator Gene" to the pirating of whole species using wild cross polination tell us that these genetic engineers need treated like the "Galactic Alliance" did with Jumba in "Lilo and Stitch." They need banished for "Evil Geniusing."

I live where I live because my history saw my father now deceased help send men to the moon. I could say a lot of things but a few rough points come to mind.
NASA needs to fire its astronaut crew all but say 4 or 5 key persons and recruit a whole new astronaut crew set for 7 year hitches that plan on their being sent out to get a real job afterwards. The new astronaut crew should be recruited from persons who are US Citizens and who are aged 16 to 19. Of course they should be exceptional persons. We have plenty and they are being treated like crap now.
These young persons take the point. They should be recruited from our high schools and they will know what to do with space. The old dumb dead heads at NASA haven't a clue and it should be obvious to all. These young pioneers will help us with so many things if this is done.
But we have to be a bit nationalistic here. We cannot afford the luxury of spending our national treasure on the children of other nations. This is not dislike of others. It is just proprietary interest. This extends to the spin off tech. Currently such tech will go first to China because of our arrogant trade policy that disrespects our own children.

So lets just be polite and let you look up a few bits of data on Tardive Dyskinesia . Be sure to crank up your search engine on the various drugs used to treat and I noted the general classes.
I long ago found that those who demanded such proof usually don't accept it when presented. Regards to the Zoloft, Prozac etc class of stuff the data is coming up everywhere to the point that the FDA is starting to have to take note. The black box warnings are starting to show up! About 20 years late! Just for the record if you go to the PDR (An advertizement by the drug company) and look up Ritalin, Prozac and several other drugs you will get a real eye full when you take a look at if the drug is effective in children and when you read the warnings. Go ahead if you dare. You may find that as an RN one is a patient advocate and yes I am well supported and yes I have personal clinical experience with this and non-clinical experience. A fellow RN was MURDERED by her son who was on this crap trip passed off by these "Legal" drug pushers who lie a lot. So was her husband! One of their children was murdered and two others were badly hurt. NAMES: YES! Jeffrey Franklin in Huntsville, Alabama was the Murderer. This came out in the court cases and it came out in family lawsuits that succeded in supporting the two badly hurt kids for the rest of their lives. The companies involved had such a damning case against them that they settled out of court eventually in order to hide their guilt.
The specific routes and conditions of damage are well documented. As an RN having to administer such drugs I had to daily document for the side effects that you question if they exist. This is in the extreme level of documentation required by law.
First as an RN who has been present (not treated but watching and post TX caregiver) for ECT. It is a horrid failure. However some vagal nerve stimulation might be of some value. It could hardly be less effective than most of the so called treatments of today. SO MOD this parent up those of you who are mods! If you don't like this post get a life mods!
The FDA studies on this reveal the treatment is of very little if any value. So that makes it light years ahead of the various MAO non-MAO etc Tri-... etc treatments which in a matter of months or years leave the person with a whole complex of debilitating neurologic damage which is perminant or Prozac types which make the person likely to become homicidal and suicidal in too many cases etc. With this all said... I have a strange suggestion for this device. It probably if placed correctly would be an effective treatment for Sleep Apnea.
Heads up you research types. Sleep Apnea represents a suppressor signal in the brain which normally applies to suppressing voluntary activities that has become misdirected to the suppression of the muscle tension in the upper airway and to varous respiratory control centers. This is a candidate begging for this type of treatment.
I have sleep apnea. I know. I have no trouble sustaining my breathing pattern or airway conditions until I fall asleep. CPAP may hold the area open but it would be much nicer to have a little nerve stimulator implanted and have it detect the lack of a signal and to supply it locally.
The good news here is that the FDA when it allows such a device allows it out and it can be applied "off Label" so this can get going now. I am sure that other good uses of such devices exist. Depression however is probably the least likely to apply.
I appreciate your impression that a Corporations only interest is money. This is often true if the company is actually trying to work. When they sink into Keylogging etc they have shifted from money to "power" and the frame of reference has shifted from the company to some individual within the company.
Actually there is a common misconception that money is the objective. It works pretty well in defining the interests of simple and mid to low range economic strata function. Higher than that the whole issue shifts to power and there even money will not buy the issue. The powerful will forego money to keep power. The sad reality is that the powerful rarely consider the "common good" or other values

Just a bit of history
Thomas Jefferson pushed the bill of rights ever more forcefully as his french friends began to meet the french razor for their accused state in Paris etc. To be blunt, the bill of rights is not something to prevent us from handling terrorism. It is something to prevent the worst kind of terrorism. STATE TERRORISM by a government who arrests without warrant... Jails on evidence obtained by rash seizures and private secret searches... and which keeps anyone who opposes it marked as enemies of the state.
I have been at some length of effort to determine if the Patriot Act as now constituted has any functionality useful for Anti-terrorism. Bluntly it has none. It hasn't even been used for that purpose effectively. The few arrests under it resulted in charges which were so blithly messed up by the Federal agents that they were useless. If you are inclined to believe some of these arrestees were guilty, the US Attorney General and et al were practically enemy agents sabotaging the cases. If you believe the charged were innocent the Attorney General and his minions were playing Gestapo. Even more scary is the reality that both conditions are probably true!
The bottom line is that no additional powers were needed after 911. The USA was not some phlebe in the world without laws or well practiced experience handling such events. Contrary to the claims that we were, terrorism was noted in the US Declaration of Independence. It has ruled US History until about 1940. The Indian Wars and much more were halmarked by such events. The USA does not need to suspend its legal/constitutional protections in order to deal with Al Qaeda. This act and its extension are just plain wrong. The few effective enforcements we know about are even more scary when we find that they were applied to affairs having nothing to do with any acts of terrorism.

The USA has not done one of the many things required to respond appropriately to the problem of terrorists yet. It doesn't intend to either because the leaders do not think that there is a real threat. Don't believe me? Why are the "Minute Men" on the Az border right now? Because the Bush team refused to do its job at all! Everything to make it a heavy burden for decent people but nothing to solve the problem.

I have bothered around in physics since I was a teenager. I upset the powers that be in 1975 when I told Kirk Vonnegut (Troy NY) some things about lighting and tornados and their electrical effects. By 1995 I talked with the NASA Environmental guys in Huntsville and they told me that He was saying the same as I had said in 1975. I have because of this the dubious honor (not worth a plugged nickel) of being the one who while not credited actually taught NASA how Lightning worked and much on weather science. This is all important because it leads to one conclusion. Sorry for Einstein and the others but GRAVITY as a force does not exist. The force we call gravity is a side vector product of EM Force Density.
I know I will hear from the equation people who are just sure this isn't so. The Physics types will have a cow right there on the spot and well it will go from there. Frankly there are three great errors in Physics other than believing it. (1) The speed of light is not a constant regardless of media or conditions there is a variability even with frequency. This has long been observed. (2) The G constant does not exist. It is one of those funky numbers cooked up to make the equations work. (3) Finally the issue of Signal to Noise ratios makes any observations beyond those of a few light years highly questionable at best. Refraction and bending of light by media make even closer observations come into question and assure that those at millions of light years are entirely fanciful to assume any data is what we think it is. What are we looking at could be reflections of ourselves for all we know.
Now I guess I will be subject of every insult known to Physics and a few others but I just shot at the Idiots who throw around equations rather than reality. I can expect nothing less. Now just for a curiosity, I worked on a previous job with the Wife of the Head of the Local FBI office. She was an LPN. One night she told me how she had been living in New York at the time working in Queens. She commuted to work that PM and arrived from her Long Island home without seeing much of anything unusual only to have her supervisor on shift, ask her if she, "had seen that airplane shot down?" The actual number of eyewitnesses and the reports on this event are staggering.
TWA Flight 800 was filmed in Video by not less than 50 parties including good film of the Shoot Down per the report of the people taking the pictures. It was the subject of Still Photos by some 2000 parties and there were not 200 but probably closer to 20,000 eyewitnesses of what was universally reported to be a shoot down incident. A major effort was made to attack the reputation of any witnesses and the video's were all captured by the FBI and the owners were forbidden to even keep copies! This was a first class lock down of information. This event was so well witnessed by location and time that the only way one would have it more observed is if one had advertized it for weeks and sold tickets. The location was optimum for observation by thousands being at a popular beach location and adjacent to major highways and train routes with large populations.
Now that we have suffered 9/11/2001 we cannot deny that there were parties out there trying to do this at the time. We also see a government with motive to hide it. Witness the reaction to the effort to get an open report on 911. Witness the efforts to deny the conclusions of the 911 report and to refuse to respond appropriately to it! We also learned after 911 that there was a flight that was deliberately crashed in that time period by an Al Qaeda type who was Co-pilot of an airliner. It too was denied!
Currently I am wondering something. The case of Terri Shivo in Florida is clearly an effort by some political leaders to cover up and hide something else they are doing. No rational person can argue that Congress as a group gave a rats rump about Terri. They would not even hold a special meeting if we had 2000 people threatened with immediate death if they did not meet. Congress is undeniably that crass. So I would love for someone to enlighten me on what is actually at issue going on here. Remember if you are thinking she is significant you are probably mislead. I would like to address a reality regards "martyrdom operations." We have seen thousands of suicide bombings in the middle east in recent years. These appear to be some religeous zeolotry and a few of them are. Most are not! What is going on in the middle east is mostly a case of gangsters of the worst type (even worse than the mafia) who will come and hold a family hostage unless they sacrafice one or more of their children to such operations. This has been exposed in Iraq by the Iraqi TV stations of late and it has cut into the support for such dramatically.
These people are nothing but cold blooded gangsters of the very worst sort ever to appear on earth. Any other presentation is a serious mistake. These gangsters use drugs to completely "Zombify" some persons into doing this as well. Their history of doing so is where we in the English Language get the word Assassin. This accounts for most of what we in the west mistakenly think is religious extremism.
Regards using life in prison to deprive these people of "Martyrdom" is another western IDIOTIC MORONIC notion. I have in my past worked as Registered Nurse in the Tennesse State Prison Hospital. (1996-1997 time period) During that time I learned about the internal dynamics operation in a prison. Essentially prisons are run by the inmates. They splinter into 3 groups in order to survive. Whites join the Skinheads or die at the hands of the Black Gangs. (Prison population is about 80% Black) The only alternative is to join Islamic Gangs. Odd man out dies or has a miserable life. Islamic Gangs being the dynamic power brokers they dominate the prison evironment and did so well before 911. Sentancing someone to life in prison who is a genuine Al Qaeda type leader claiming Islamic Status is like giving them a life tenured position in an Al Qaeda College. They train all the short term persons. It is like putting an Al Qaeda recruiter on perminant state payroll.
This is what we saw when the orginal WTC Bombers were organizing and running the 911 coordination from a New York State Prison. Please note that my experience is prior to 911! Our prisons were already inflitrated by Al Qaeda prior to 911 and I saw it then.
I simply do not understand the idiotic notions of people that our prisons punsh or rehabilitate. They do neither. They function mostly as schools for crime. If you as an investor actually got paid for those hot earnings from R&D you would be most happy to go to the well again and take the risk.

I have seen this first hand having actually handled the paperwork on such deals. Let me just lay the pattern. In the mid 1980's when this crap really got started I was running a Cabinet Shop and wanted to really start growing. When I went to my bank who routinely loaned me lots of 90 day money and asked for some 2 year money secured over 500% with property they turned me down. I went to the recommended classes by the local banks on raising the money. The gist is: (1) Give a big donation to the local officials who are on the town council for their reelection bids. (2) They get the Industrial Development Board to build and equip your factory and even train your people using "School Tax Money." (3) Your factory and its equipment is tax exempt. (4) You keep the money flowing to the local / state officials and all will be happy.
When I call this Faschism I know exactly what I am talking about and I have been there to see it in action. I have actually handled the paperwork on such deals. This crap is why I am not a Cabinet Maker now! I got out because it was clear that the bankers didn't want to allow me to grow. Remember in the USA if you actually try to grow by Equity the IRS destroys your efforts so don't give me the crap about why didn't you try to just save etc. If you equity fund you have to take it out of your customers.
Lets be clear, if this $45 million had been chopped into nice neat (average) $250,000 packages to pay house and supply R&D types they would have been able to hire some 180 researchers in a well funded R&D team. Of course the company would rather pay her...
The reality is that this is what is the matter with the whole of US Corporate America. The CEO's who do little or nothing but talk themselves up get the rewards and inventive types get walked down the hall. The reason for this is a simple little bit of US TAX policy which these CEO types demanded and got passed. It seems that the more money you earn for the company the more taxes they must pay or they will have to move the job off shore to avoid the taxes as Ms C. did. Of course if you make any money, you had best sop it up into CEO pay rather than pay stockholders because of US Tax law as well. This is why US CEO's act like companies are their own private cookie jar.

To be specific having spent the last 3 years working on XML I can suggest that there are numerous problems with XML.
XML Tagging is tedious and stupidly top heavy in overhead. Contrary to being human friendly it isn't. XML Tagging should be shortened to a simple set of defined tag names and then type definitions. After that each name would be addressed by an index. Typing of data should be contained in a process to extract that is associated with either the tagging index or an over the top wrapper which is similar in function to the DTD. But frankly the whole process is currently a mess.
The expansion of data with tagging currently can be as much as 3 or 4 to one. This is because of the recursive parsing process if you are recovering data a gemetricly expanding time consumer. If you use linear display the process is nearly worthless for anything but a single display process. It works great for short things. In short it just eats up processing time and band width. It makes a good universal file storage structure and that is it!
Once the file is retreived it should be crunched into something like MySQL or such if any real processing is going to happen.
Nothing really is gained by such a markup system over just a series of hashed tags that are indexed. Such tagging and indexing is a lot less of a tax on band width.
This having been said, XML works and is OK for many uses. I am not sure it really has any advantage over flat files or such. It drinks band width and program operations time. I think in time it will turn out to be a fun toy but not much else. Of course someone else might find a good way to tell me why I should use 40 characters to transmit what should have taken 10 characters and how it should have been faster or more efficient some way to use it. The whole concept was definitely good for a lot of programmer payroll time.
Being aware of Apollo stuff and some successive stuff this is just a natural progression. The really good thing here would be to get the patient out of the hospital and away from all of those nasty germs growing in that germ factory called a hospital. Your health gets in greater danger the closer you get to a hospital. They are really dangerous. Just to clarify I am an RN and I do know what I am talking about.
Hospitals have a risk of infection that is horrid. The problem is population density. In a 100 bed hospital your chances of catching something there in 3 days is about 10% or less. If the hospital has 500 beds it is about 50% Don't even think of those 2000 or so bed hospitals! What is worse your risk is of really nasty (Germ Warfare types etc) bugs getting to you like MRSA and Hemolytic Strep etc.
The best thing we could do for public health in the USA is to reduce the size of our hospitals dramatically. Following right behind that we should for the exact same reasons cut down on the size of our schools and especially get rid of or reduce daycares!

At risk of telling the terrorists how (like they don't already have somebody who knows more than myself telling them) I am going to lay out just how difficult it is to come up with a U-235 device. First take the U-235 and powder it in a inert gas environment. Then Sinter it like a ceramic (very hot here) into two hemispheres or use C-4 to explosively form it into a hemisphere. The latter method is probably the best and fastest. Once formed place one hemisphere on a plate of armor plate steel attached to the muzzle of an Artillery tube say 155 or so. With a fashioned shell probably best aluminum cased load the other hemisphere in the shell to be fired in the gun. Weld the whole thing severely shut with high grade steel with a few slits near the muzzle end to allow pressure to decrease but not clear through. The whole thing needs strong containment.
That is about it for the bomb building except delivery. Difficult but not impossible. The problem of getting the U-235 is difficult but not impossible and takes far less resources than in the old days. The cost is well within those of a fairly rich person. Essentially the process is to take Uranium Hexafloride and Ionize it into a particle accelerator. Taking a set of high tech magnets send the gas down the accelerator tube and the magnets will aim the streams. This process used to be really expensive of energy and such but frankly isn't very expensive due to advanced magnets developed under the US Navy's Advanced Propulsion Project and now made in China... (Anyone suspecting North Korea here is right)
It is probably pretty easy to do this by a chemical process in presence of these strong magnets as well. Something similar to Chromotography. But for those who will argue, this isn't free. It probably could be done for several million dollars now. It would be a lot cheaper in a 3rd world country where you don't care too much about the junk you throw around or the people exposed to it.
If I place a webpage out where any party may browse to it and obtain information without a special password or other control mechanism on it to prevent actual casual access to it I have placed it in the "Public Domain." Point A noted yes I do understand public domain. The problem here is that these guys didn't understand it. This is just like a person placing a statement in the open and complaining that someone heard it.
I have been developing for people who want to have something secured on line. Well I must admit that it is a considerable chore. But I knew that if I placed information out where a browser could pick it up, it would be picked up. Again only an idiot or an ignorant fool in today's world would assume that placing an open website without proper lockup of data that said data would not be used any way a browsing machine or person wanted. Robots exist. Get with the program. I could see that if a person were to break the security mechanisms and get the data they would be stealing or misusing the data. But if these people expect to make a quote on line to any party without proper mechanisms to prevent it from being picked up and used they may as well forget it.
Just for the record there are long recognized legal precidents that conclude that any party who publishes data openly is subject to it being seen. Attempting to rewrite these Common Law protections into the Copyright Law is ignorant. Attempting to enforce a copyright on something you placed into the public domain is unlikely to survive.
Objecting to my using a robot to compare prices isn't likely to work either. If you published your price, well it is not exactly a secret. This is the problem with internet businesses. They made their living because of the extremely low overhead associated with their market in undercutting the traditional businesses such as travel agents. Now that these agents are gone, they find themselves cutting each other up. There is nobody else left. (Happy fight guys you started it!) They attempt to live by denying the ability of determining competing prices in a market they created based upon such. It will not work. Even if they are successful in fighting 3rd party use, they will fail due to easy comparison. They need to get another business model.
The problem of no information on line didn't appear when net rights were losely enforced. This doesn't seem to be a problem for anyone who understands that the net is open! It only seems to be a problem for those who want to own the net.

On Pine trees they don't lose their leaves in any less a dramatic fashion than do Maple trees. They just do it at a different time of the year. They lose their leaves just after the spring bloom when they already have the new set in place. Yes they do spread it out some otherwise but they do have a particular time to lose leaves.
The whole problem with genetic engineering is that the complexity of the situation makes for profound and unintended consequences from small actions. We have a lot of examples of this kind of thinking that the author of the article portrays and its results.
The gypsy moth is one example. Bred to give north America a silk industry it laces the area with big silk nets as it kills whole forests. The same kind of idiotic thinking brought us hundreds of ferrel species and now we have everything from Starlings to Pepper Trees. The results are just awful.
I could sound like an opponent of Genetic Engineering. That would not be so. I am a fan of it being wisely applied. The problem here is that people are not being wise at all in the industry. Everything from the "Terminator Gene" to the pirating of whole species using wild cross polination tell us that these genetic engineers need treated like the "Galactic Alliance" did with Jumba in "Lilo and Stitch." They need banished for "Evil Geniusing."
These people and their corporate sponsors world wide, display between them a mixture of Corporate Greed of the worst kind and just plain foolish stupidity of the first water. It is a combination of what would be described legally of Criminal Intent mixed with Criminal Negligence. To trust such people is the height of ignorance.
Nobody can deny the financial incentives in this industry are compelling even nations to bend to the forces at work here. If you can produce a crop that is 1/5th in price it kind of wipes out all other considerations for a time. In the words of the Dr Suess book. "Sometimes I think progress progresses too much." This unfortunately is a time where the most strenious of law needs to be applied. The danger here is greater than with Chemical or Nuclear weapons. We could by accident wipe out life on the planet this way. To advocate this kind of genetic engineering mentality is rather like saying we should take a kindergarten and put in it as play toys fully fused and push button triggered Nuclear weapons. Only the scale here is a bit off. Genetic Engineering gone awry will get much worse if the proper set of accidents or stupidity gets going.

Then they built their business using Tax Exempt Bonds and Industrial Development Authorities. This is quite precisely a case of a business built out of State Investments. In the strictest of definitions this is "Fascism."
Now to be really fair wouldn't you love to be able to build a business where other people's work made you money and you didn't have to pay them and you could even tax them for building your property plant and equipment? Wouldn't you just love it where the US Army would define that no other bidders need apply for contracts to supply similar services? Wouldn't you love it if you could get all of this and then have the money all to yourself not even until recently having to pay the suckers (Investors) who supplied additional capital to your company? I could go into this a bit deeper but it is clearly and plainly fascism.
Don't you love the defenders of the Steve and Bill Show who argue about "Free Enterprise" and "Free Markets" and stuff like that. They talk a nice story but that is all it is, a story. It bears no relationship to any facts. This not troll it is just the facts so mods if you disagree get a life!
