could that be because they received "volume" (promotional) discounts, or because they bought their systems 2 weeks before the Opteron was made available?
well, surely he might get more *minutes* of battery life, but I can't imagine him being as *productive* while waiting for his programs to load, memory pages to swap, and files to save... all over a blistering USB 1.1 bus to a screamin' compactflash disk.
First off, people don't call a can of Pepsi a can of Coke. This is a myth. Instead, what happens is if somebody orders a Coke, but Pepsi is all they have, it's assumed that it is an acceptable alternative. In the case of soft-drinks, it is not that big of deal.
sounds like you haven't spent much time in atlanta;-)

frequencies down to 35 and even 25 Hz are heard by most people, and not felt. additionally, most speaker cabinets and cones aren't tuned to reproduce inaudible frequencies.
Tell me becuase I honestly don't know. How much CPU is needed for your audio needs?
in my experience, you can never have too much CPU for audio processing, and you most likely will never have enough. better to put it in the closet or another room than compromise with something slower than the fastest chips you can afford.
if you've ever installed Red Hat, Mandrake, Suse, Fedora... or most desktop-oriented distributions, really... you'll know that a browser, video/audio players, IM, email, and various other useful applications are installed by default. you can use the bundled stuff, or you can (really) un-install it, or you can install something else.
there are millions of acres of farm-land idled by federal subsidies. we'd do better to pull the subsidies and invest the money in programs to support corn-based ethanol fuel. most existing cars would require a simple timing adjustment to use blends of ethanol+gasoline.

it fits in my back pocket.
I would think you'd CHANGE the password after regaining access.
I *did* spend my hard-earned cash on the sound system, rather than on the logo. *that's* why I got a NEUROS and not an IPOD! duh!
it was a nice thought though.
are we reading the same google results?
FreeDOS will run on DOSEmu on Linux.
RTLinux?
you know what they say about jazz... if you hit a wrong note, just move a half-step up or down and you're good to go ;-)
don't forget that $200 copy of MS Windows.
i use imap ... i'm not an unsophisticated user ... and i still have no idea what the local folders are useful for.

mozilla's more like an armored tank than a sports car.
