This could be one hell of a way to fix the holes. When MS comes out with a patch, they could just write a virus that spreads like wildfire, exploit their own hole that then fixes that hole.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but "truly random" numbers are not just practically impossible, but ARE impossible. Everything (including natural effects) can approach randomness, but never be TRULY random. Everything follows a pattern in some way, even radiation.
No, SCO is violating 4 completely unrelated patents (to each other and to the case). It is a sort-of blackmail shot at SCO.
"The patents cover a data compression technique, a method of navigating among program menus that use options that are arranged in a graphical tree, a method for verifying that an electronic message was received and a method for monitoring computing systems that are linked in a cluster."
Ok, so SCO says IBM cannot distribute AIX, but they do so anyhow. Linux tells SCO that we either distribute under the GPL or not at all. Then IBM tells SCO that SCO cannot distribute Unixware, etc... Pretty soon software as we know it will become undistributable. The RIAA would love this tactic.
How do you think Sun will feel when all the SCO licensed Unix will be release into the wild (public domain) after spending $100,000,000 half a year ago.
The only thing you would then need to worry about is a robot that can maintain robots. Or even better, a robot that can program. If any of you programmers make a program that can program, I'll program your ass!
The US has this too. It was even in the Bill of Rights over 220 years ago. It's called "Illegal Search & Seizure", yet the DMCA passed anyhow. If there is any constitutionality in the US today, it'll get overthrown or DMCA will become an amendment (and the later will not happen because you need a 3/4 vote by the people (not reps/companies)).
Basically, MS is openly admitting that they will be skewing their own results. Anyone else find it odd that MS(N) used "apple" as an example. This is because they want to skew the true web results to not favor their competition as much as it the competition shows up on a specific search.
Hey, I wanted to search for a pimp-mobile on Google, but when I searched for "car", I got a listing of car manufacturers and price listings. It's terrible!
Processor - 233 megahertz (MHz) processor, such as an Intel Pentium II or Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) processor
Oh my god! They are giving us a choice?! I'm going to take full advantage of that!

Light signalling morse code

me covering up my body odor with deoderant makes me dumber and weaker. Mmm, maybe I should sue Right Guard for taking my "intellectual property".
This is the most informative post I've seen that somehow gets a Funny rating...

int main(int argc, char *argv[]) {
printf("You're clean!\n");
return 0;
}
I assume Mandrake ...
I wouldn't expect the French to step up and defend anything.
For a second there I thought they would be hiring a programmer...
Why would you burn SCO's shares? That would make the existing shares go up!
Even better yet, "rm ~/.bash_history && ln -s /dev/dsp ~/.bash_history". Now everything you type will literally "sound like crap".
I don't see how hard this could be with wings and 5+ miles of altitude to work with. However, it is pretty cool.
Just that humans expire more quickly than copyrights.

If they are made my MS, then the robots will crash enough that we'll need more people to maintain them than the jobs they replace.

quick job during your lunch break
...
I hope this is a typo. Otherwise, I think I'll pass

You must add that any research paper about apples is just _that_, about "apples" not "apple".

This is not far from not being a non-duplicated story.
I think less means money. yeaaaaahhhhhhhh....
