And what's up with only being able to resize from the bottom right corner? Is there really a justification for that?
The justification is that's the way all mac windows work, and have worked, since it's inception. It's easier for new computer users to have a single place to do something, and not really a pain for more advanced users.
Actually. I've did something like this once before, since my site was on topic.
I directed people to my cafepress site, http://cafeshops.com/ruechaos and someone used me as a refferer. Given that my site was relevant to the article, was it wrong to do so?
My father "webmaster" of www.engineeredfireprotection.com can't distinguish between the address bar and the yahoo search text field...
He would hate MSN just because it's microsoft, but he'd be pretty much powerless to change it, not knowing how.
PS. If anyone wants to drop him a line to tell him the site looks good but needs better organization...I would greatly appreciate it...he won't listen to his son.;-)
Manny who bitch-gripe about the cost of a CD or renting a DVD are the same people who don't think twice about plunking down $2.50 - $3.50 for a cup of fancy coffee.
My friend bitches about paying $1 per song on iTunes but spends $1.50 for a stupid ringtone for her phone...and she buys a lot of ringtones...
We have the capacity to make laws to do whatever we want. We could enact a law that completely shuts our borders to imports/exports if we so chose.
Currently, the market favors the employer. They are running a race to the bottom in prices which in the long run, hurts everyone in the US.
If we allow them to screw us out of overtime, it puts more money into their hands and less in ours. This in turn, gives them more money to buy in cheaper labor outside of our country while giving you less to spend locally.
While I agree that America needs a wake up call and that we, in general, have gotten lazy...if this short sighted, ateoo attitude of employers is allowed to continue, we face disasturous economic collapse.
And graffiti is much better than straight handwriting recognition.
As a former Newton user that switched to a Palm Zire 71, I can atest that Graffiti sucks. Newton's hand writing recognition, even cursive, was much better.
I do so miss the Newton...if only Apple would bring it back. My Zire, though great in physical size is lacking.
If more developers use product activation, we will be forced to. If your system gets trashed and you have to reinstall a piece of software, but the developer has long since gone defunct, taking their product activation servers with them...I'd say you're up the creek.
.has it become acceptable to use anyones computing resources without their knowledge and consent?
Some sites are plain text, this uses up less CPU cycles than a flash intensive site.
One could argue that this applet provides no value to the end user, and that could be true. However, it could also help pay for the free content that the user is viewing.
It is neither inherently bad nor inherently good. I can see it going both ways. Porn sites will use it for god knows what. Places like SETI and Folding@home could use it to benefit mankind.

Windows Media sucks more on a mac than QuickTime sucks on a PC :-)
1.) Take picture :-)
2.) Photoshop picture
3.) Print picture
4.) Take picture of printed picture
Funny, you couldn't boycott them if Microsoft hadn't bought them...they would be out of bussiness.
I'm just as pissed as you, probably more (I'm a mac user).
Public opinon didn't stop the recent war in Iraq.
Though, in general I do agree with you. What happens when we get a strung out general who decides to program his bots to kill anything in site.
What's specific to the science and engineering files that caused so much trouble?

When I suggested we go out and actually do something, they looked at me funny.
They had the biggest and best machines with nice expensive flat panels...soley to run AIM on.
Sadly? SCO produces nothing valuable. It's only source of revenue are frivolous lawsuits. Hasn't their stock been going up because of this?
Why didn't the dotcom bubble burst for SCO?
World politics aside, is there anything in British Law stating that the Queen can't kill whomever she pleases.
Most of them are still alive. :-)
I really do hope that they send this man to jail for fraud, but I doubt that will happen.
Done and done ;-)

Otherwise, I whole heartedly agree.
An acronym is a form of word, duh.
:-)
I acknowledged that, duh.
Um...wouldn't that be an acronym? While words, those aren't too hard to create.
In that case, I coin "ateoo" At the Expensive of Others. I think ateoo can make it into the vernacular since it's the way most people act now.
I'm guessing the redhead. Am I right?
So when do we go over and take those Indians' land? I think that would solve our problems. :-)

Apparently someone hasn't played Dance Dance Revolution. ;-)
Did they halt production? I know that my store lost a couple of thousand in sales simply because Apple didn't ship us any units to sell.
