cleaning up someone else's mess doesn't mean you like to do it.
Obama is doing the responsible thing. Cleaning up the geopolitical mess that bush created without thinking things through. It is one of the few things I agree with. Because the moment we leave Afghanistan the Taliban take back over and Bin Laden comes out of his cave again. They are far to strong still. However since the American public thought it would be a quickie kill them off and leave, and let the mess sort it self out like what we did in the 1980's with the Soviet occupation, This time we are sticking around. Hopefully for the next 20-30 years. that way a whole generation grows up not hating the USA but at least thinking mostly nice things about us.
Except I always know when I am watching 3D movies. The throbbing headache and nausea are abig clue. With-some 15-20% of the population feeling some effects from watching 3D movies they will fail in their current form.
To top it off I have yet to see one "3D" effect. The movies just look grainy, dull(polarized lenses limit light dulling colors), and in many cases boring. Remember those 3D puzzles 10 years ago that if you stared at them you could see another image? 3D will die like that because a hundred million people in the USA alone can't see it.
2 or three years? try 10. it has been 5 years since I have flown and almost 10 since I flew to Boston. I look up the rates every once in a while(my sister isn't far from the airport, and driving in Boston sucks)
For a non Stop Flight from upstate NY to Boston is $250 each way. 10 years ago it was $140. Non stop flights are less expensive but take 4-6 hours to do with 2+ hour layovers. I can drive there is 6 hours.
I can fly to vegas which is 3 times farther away for half than i can fly to a major city that is 45 minutes by flight. call it an hour if the air traffic is heavy. The fuel alone should mean the prices are closer than that.
actually i am just tired of airline prices. It used to be well worth my time to fly instead of spending 6-8 hours driving. now a days it costs almost twice of what it did back then.
I find it sad when one can fly to Florida, or Nevada, or Los Angeles from NY cheaper than it is to fly to Boston. Not only is it cheaper but it is faster too. As the majority of direct flights have to bounce through PA, or New Jersey.
if the ipad is over priced why isn't their a single competitor with a similarly priced device? Every single device that matches specs is $700 plus. now don't go find a resistive touch screen, I said match specs.
You can't I have tried they don't exist yet. Acer CEO stated that they were expecting the ipad to be $999 HP stated they were expecting a $999 ipad. The $499 price made every single tablet vendor CEO shit their pants. The only thing close when the ipad was released was the crunchpad, which can't match features. The only superior product in the works is the current vaporware notion ink adam. (the one I am personally waiting for)
If the ipad is overpriced, then why hasn't anybody been able to duplicate it in less than a years time? Just try to find a capacitance touch screen with an OS designed for touch screen use(windows 7 isn't a touch screen OS, it has touch elements but still needs a mouse to work right, and is way over priced) For $500 find one you can buy right now.
Apple has been competitively priced for the last decade. You get less processor options, but overpriced they are not, stop trying to compare them to dell, but instead to thinkpads.
apparently you never used Windows ME. MSFT has imaginary shit you can buy. Apple at least polishes the turds they sell, because shiny shit sells better than a cow pie.
Most safeties are hard set. There are fuses that trip to protect equipment from actual damage.
The 2003 blackout lasted for hours. Once the grid shut down most of the work was isolating the bad sector and restarting the systems. It does take a little while to restart a generator. Hackers might be able to target one or two nodes but to infect 10000 from various manufactures over a 20 year period is a different story.
Sticker does prove it is possible but actual damage was limited. However with stuxnet now out there companies will begin to change to fight that too. Releasing stuxnet was the single stupidest thing any government has ever done.
Actually there were many reasonable people standing against Sheridan's war. Elizabeth Lockey was one of them. you didn't here about her ahead of time, but she made her choice that soldiers don't make policy. They fought for the other side. There was very few who wanted to stand up to sheridan on B5 because he was the one keeping them all alive.
As for the rest of your comment I agree. Caprica seems to wander quite a bit.
part of crusade's problem was oversight management. they kept trying to change the basics. They kept billing it as rogue rangers. however the rangers weren't going rogue until midway through season 2.
why is it that TV exe's want shows that last 5+ seasons, but then cancel them before they get to a point to establish 5+ seasons of backstory? JMS, Joss whedon, and a few others are capable of writing literally a decade long show, and make it mostly interesting but are only allowed 6 months to setup that show, and that 6 months gets divided into 2 piece's stretched over 2 years.
SyFy, really needs new management. They think nothing of showing episodes not only out of order, but with so much separation that the story loses consistency.
not sure about farmville but the few flash/social games that I have played more had long term goals like real life. beating someone up is fine, but you don't do that every day.
the real goal is to survive for as long as you can. I did fairly well, and had a decent standing but real life took away all the free time I needed for the game so i gave it up and gave my account to someone else.
I would almost like to go back and see what it looks like now, however since major changes take place every couple of months (both software wise, and socially) I doubt I would recognize much and my cities are long since gone.
I would add to that by telling the things he did he managed to piss off the local conservative government(jews) who had the money and influence to have him killed publicly. I am even willing to bet he was born in a stable, and a carpenter by trade.
Of course he never owned much gold let alone had giant gold goblets and golden crosses. Using Gold to represent a man who declined wealth and to whom greed was a sin is just one of the many hypocrisies of modern christians.
Just because MSFT has a squirting turd doesn't mean that they are ready for another one. Just listento Ballmers statements on tablets and tablet OS's. He says the standard windows desktop is fine for tablets. Since 2002 MSFT has produced a tablet OS. In those eight they only created one application for it. They never ported Office. They never modified IE. MSFT dying because they have never been a true innovator. They can only copy others. When there was no one to copy they dont sell anything new.
you do realize that a major portion of the reason why the soviet union collapsed was because they were spending money trying to match us Weapon for Weapon. Our economy was flexible enough to allow it, however theirs was tightly controlled and couldn't stand the strain.
Without that build up the soviet union might still be around. Without the massive drain that a large military provided it might have continued onward. Look at China. Instead of massive technological military they went for shear numbers of troops. only 10 years after the collapse of the soviet Union did China start with more high tech designs, and now are progressing rapidly gaining what they had before ignored. china will have duplicated the majority of our knowledge and weapons by the end of this decade.
Of course China doesn't have to fire a shot to kill us either. They can simply cancel all the loans. The loans that george bush used for stimulus, to pay for foreign wars, etc.
no I have smoked pot, I saw things that weren't really there and then my natural paranoia kicked in I wanted to get rid of the flying things.
My family are also angry drunks most of the time. Therefore I don't drink as I don't want to lose control and hurt someone(or myself). I don't do drugs not because it is bad but because I will lose control and I will probably hurt someone.
While I admit it is just me, the majority of people don't have that kind of self discipline, do you really want to take a chance with your life? what's to stop them from smoking pot, and drinking in mass quantities and then driving home. Right now it's illegal, so only a small percentage(though still large number) do so now.
Says who? If it was legalized it would be taxed, company profits would be attached, the FDA gets involved, legal protection problems for the use of it, like alcohol. In the end it might just be cheaper to get it illegally.
Have you ever seen someone high on pot drive? they are worse than drunks. A drunk serves because he doesn't have fine control of his body, someone on pot serves cause that's a pretty shade of yellow in the other lane.
All drugs react differently with different people(angry drunk vs mellow drunk is a great example) How do you know someone won't go homicidal while on pot?
No OS updates would have to downloaded to a USB drive, and then rebooted. If the update contained everything to boot from the drive self contained it would be a difficult attack vector without physical access.
my method preserves today's user installed items while separating out the OS which shouldn't have write access anyways. Of course this would also mean that all included applications, would reside on the User/application Partition. you couldn't bundle IE, or safari so tightly with the OS that you couldn't separate them.
why tell the consumer anything at all? Just tell then they have 250gb of SSD storage, and create a 10gb OS drive.
I have thought for years that if they put the main OS (everything but swap and configuration files) on a different read only drive. That it would at lest help slow down viruses. As a reboot would wipe it out of memory. The OS could due a simple MD5 hash check to see if changes were made to configuration files and prompt for user intervention (or simply restore from known good back ups.)
That was also back when Sun worked with other JVM's, as opposed to suing them out of existence like Oracle is doing. Apple probably lost those engineers and Oracle probably came to them and said now you have to pay us for the privilege.
Why are we blaming Apple when it's Oracle's policies that driving this particular change.
Basically, Sun never supported Java on the Mac, Apple did. Apple provided the developers, the tools, apple did all the work, and then paid Sun for the privilege. (it costs money to make sure your JVM was approved).
With oracle now suing every other Java implementation out there that wasn't approved Apple probably thought it just wasn't worth it. Expensive to do, costs money to do it, and unless your sending money up to oracle yearly, now a patent nightmare mess.
Look at it this way a side effect might be that Oracle stops suing non oracle approved JVM's, including Davik. The Bad press might be more than they realize.
their computers(real people) couldn't calculate beyond a certain point so that became the final end date. Just like Y2K. lazy programmers cause the world to burn.

Only us airways offers a direct flight. jetblue and airtran both bounce through JFK, newark, with delays.

nope keyboard works just fine, it's what you get when you type on tiny cellphone keyboards with poor software error correction.
This is just thefirsthalf of the machine anyways. The secondhalf takes the sub assemblies this produces and assemblies them from the outside.
Stage three wil be to take several complete units and have them work in parallel useing networking.
stage four is were it gains sentience.
Hopefull we live past stage 5
Nope we just miss translated 5 thousand years for 5 billion years..
it could happen to anyone the US governement does it with tax money all the time.
no big deal
I always refer to it as the Mayan Y5K problem.
