without daylight savings time the amount of time you spend going to work and home from work in the dark is expanded by 2 months. one in the fall and one in the spring.
actually he is referring to the fact that most of upstate NY and eastern canada recieved snow three weeks earlier than normal, yet two day ago it was 70 and sunny.
10 minutes a day, 30 days a month, 12 months a year or 60 hours or roughly 45 kwh every year. twice that for my work as we make on average two pots a day.
all that said the only reason I like daylight saving time, is because in september it is still light out when i get home from work. without daylight savings time the sun would set by 5pm in October, instead of the November it does now. Those extra hours are very useful for fall evening projects.
Since when did MSFT support open standards? Also did you know that the wifi features of a zune are useless? cool in concept but MSFT used their own stupidity and limited all songs shared by such a method to three days. even music that you recorded yourself and wanted them to have a copy of.
Zune like most MSFT products takes a good idea and implements it poorly, with no concern for the end user who actually wants that feature.

that question is only useless to the intelligent. PHB's aren't intelligent.
while you are correct, the problem lies with the OS that needs the most AV support. Windows itself acts like a virus to change memory locations when certian apps are run. Thisis to ensure compatibility. With Vista msft has been trying to change such behaviour, but it took 6years for msft to notice the problem and at least until win7 until things start working better. Linux and OSX don't suffer from such things as badly as they depracrate old buggy features ona regular basis.
that's an awefully generous figure your quoting there. i would say more like 10-15% the fact is the average person shouldn't have to know it. UI are for the most part horrible, and artificially and sometimes randomly limiting in choices one can do.
I stay away from flea markets as I don't want to become infest with fleas so i stay away from ebay. (paypal polices are another good reason), however I do believe you.
flash is something I do miss with the iphone. It is one of the more annoying flaws with the product, my personal pet peeve is the fact that it takes more than 2 clicks to activate bluetooth. I have a built in bluetooth headset in my car, and I don't need bluetooth turned on all the time on the phone draining battery. however trying to turn on bluetooth quickly is a pain in the arse. Also most websites use a special dumbed down site for mobiles because mobile phone web browsers suck. CNN is annoying turning the site into an RSS feed. slashdot however renders normally though the comment box is a bit of a pain to read while entering a reply.
you need to add a pair of diagonal cutters, to your knife and scissors for christmas morning. Stuff them next to your drink. something with enough reach to pick away at that sort of packaging. I will never spend more than ten minutes opening a box. I may spend months assembling the item inside the box but the box itself shouldn't take more than a minute.
If it is a publicity stunt then why the uproar? opera mini is a joke compared to safari mobile that the iphone has. I can tell you this more people use the iphone to browse the web than any other mobile browser. maybe because it isn't a toy browser that limits options. Safari mobile works well on regular web pages not stupid mobile ones.
Of course I don't I didn't vote for bush either time.
Also Vista has been out for how long now? It was released to companies in Nov of 2006. It is now Nov 2008. vista adoption isn't growing by any large shot. Linux adoption won't take off until you can convince CEO's that there is more than windows out there. that takes decades.
I actually played with a touchsmart for while because it is a good idea. my only gripe was the high pressure you have to apply to the surface to get it to register a contact. touch and drag works only if you jab the screen with your finger first.
atom is still x86 compatible. RAID,samba, mediawiki, and MYsql all run on OSX but if your family prefers ubuntu, and windows for gaming then that is enough.
while I agree completely, one should use the OS for the main tasks required. Giving windows plenty of uses. As well as Linux and OS X. However what feature of OS X makes it unusable for you? Or is it simply you don't like their limited hardware options? A valid reason by itself.
I have tried to use windows mobile maps, gps several times, it is nothing but a pain in the arse. the iphone does well what apple always does well make things easy to use for the average person on the go,
The notable feature of the iphone isn't the hardware, but the softare which makes it a 100 times better than every other phone on the market. iphones get used more often and have out sold every other smart phone on the market for a reason. in the first quarter of the iphone 3g they are outselling RIM.
it is more than trend it is because you can use the iphone without being a geek. there are no complicated menus, shortcuts or keys to memorize.
um did you completely forget destroying the validity of ISO to push a document format that is useless for 90% of the world to work with, that was pushed through so hard several countries are beginning to reject ALL ISO standards.
exactly it will only work with window's mobile. Think of Azure like the MSFT answer to BeFS of the mid 90's. a perpetual motion project that will always be in the clouds and if they ever finish it might be cool, but will be fscked in all the wrong ways.
Isn't that the same thing?
what flavour lollipop? It is important for them to earn my forgiveness.
not only do we pay to recieve text, the price is now $.20 a message. it went up when no one was looking.

think about that for a while.

Now that is the one that got me. you can't get win2k, licenses but you could get win 3.1?
at least win2k was mostly stable. the only good thing about win 3.1 was the ability to get into DOS easily.
In other words we should give everyone a pilot's license and let gravity sort out the group?
Darwin didn't see that one coming.

never underestimate human stupidity. after all bush got elected twice.

so yea MSFT has been a good citizen lately.
earth 2 came out and bombed. Personally I want earth 3. SP 2

well ending democracy in america with a king george who taxes and spends without consideration of those whom he governs, would be fitting irony.
I wonder what we can throw into the boston harbor to start things off?
