I liked the lady who thought she needed to live in a faraday cage made of wood and chicken wire. I bet you could get cell recption in there, and it only blocked a couple of frequencies at most.
Or lady the lady who got sick sitting in front of her TV. She was old enough that i would bet the elctron gun was damaged and outputting higher than normal.
She should get an LCD tv and see if she feels the same.
Cesinmum 137 can chemically replace potasium in the food chain. It also has a wicked half life. So itsticks in the enviriment for longer and you are likely to ingest it.
Bikini atoll site of above ground testing is safe to walk on, however eating one of the coconuts can kill you as some of the potasium inside has been replaced with radioactive cesinmum.
I don't text even from my iPhone even though I am posting this from said iPhone.
At my work we have 20 MFP from 6 different manufacturers. They all suck for scanning. They all advertise one touch, quick button press to scan but it never works.you have to insert document walk to your desk. Manually launch the software from the system tray where it is running and then click on scan. For me that is a 100 foot walk up and down a flight of stairs. While I don't mind the exercise, it is a pain when I am in a hurry.
HP is only one of our vendors, we use business class laser printers, but scan software for all them suck. Every one advertises one touch scanning but no one delivers it reliably
Right and entering a 20-40 character email address on a number pad is fun. For address book, that would be some 100 seperate contacts for me alone, none of which are sync'd but would be enetered seperately.
None of the current models are easy and reliable as fax machines. And that is scary as fax machines suck IMHO.
because a fax is simple to use and at the other end the other person has a physical copy of the document.
My company we use both. The primary fax lines are regular faxes, however we also have Fax service built into our email and Phone systems(our VOIP service does the analog fax service to PDF)
However it takes twice as long to scan, let the software save and process the PDF, and then email it, than to simple put the pages in the same machine and hit fax. Faxes may move at 1KBS but they move, scanning at 300DPI takes twice as long as scanning at the 150DPI the fax uses. for generic text it doesn't matter anyways. Best of all I can press insert the paper enter a phone number and walk away, while the machine scans and faxes instead of having to stand over it, and then go back to my desk to get the always unstable software to work. Seriously in 2011 why is it so hard to get decent scan software that works with a button press from the scan machine? every single machine and make I have used have always fail on a regular basis and you have to manually start the scanning software.
I got an iPhone 3G when they first came out. I still use it every day. It has been dropped onto concrete, drowned, and never once has had a girly case protecting it.
the back is scratched up but you can read all the labels, with this last dunking in water it has finally started to corrode the sim card socket. However it works just fine, battery life is still good for 2-3 days for "MY" usage.
by products that are designed to live a long time to begin with and they have a good chance of living twice as long as that.
Cell phones by design are a 2-3 year item and then you upgrade. As for me I am not sure if I want a new iphone or not, I haven't decided.
and how is that any different from the menu;s of Office 2003 where if you didn't use it very often it took hours to find?
they are just large pictured menu buttons. click on the more options some time and find the old menus still there. broken down a little bit, but the exact same menus are still right there.
Try it. sit with 2003 and 2007 next to each other and find a feature. and then find the option. the dialog boxes are identical in most cases.
easy because you zip up a file to share it stupid.
I don't get the complaining about the ribbons, they are just big pictured menu buttons. it is just as quick as the regular menu and just as obtuse as office 2003 menu's where. In reality very little changed they just added a few pictures to the menu bar.
I am at 77 degrees north. if I want to enjoy my summer evenings outside, I would like more than an hour after work to do so.
The sunset sets at 7:50PM local time, I get out of work at 4:30 PM without DST I would still get out of work at 4:30PM however the sun would set at 6:50PM.
Businesses don't change their hours due to DST. so you have to work the same hours, only use lose hours of sunlight in the evening.
Only if we switch to DST completely. My summers would be completely ruined on the east coast if the Sun started setting at 6:30 in the afternoon in August.
People don't realize just how much they use DST's. especially in the northern latitudes.
The thing is convertaibles have been around for a decade.
it took apple to show the world that tablets had to have a different GUI from desktop computer. MSFT has been making tablet based OS's for a decade directly, however only a couple of dedicated touch applications where ever created for it, with Office being one of the big one.
when apple shipped the ipad it included a stripped down(and broken depending on your view) version of their office applications. straight out of the box. The email client gui was re written to take advantage of touch interfaces, unlike outlook which is still the same(with a shiny new ribbon)
tablets may become more powerful, but the interface requires them to have simplier UI's. Just like cars engines might get more powerful but you still control it with pedals and a wheel.
We are entering computation age where raw power isn't needed. directed computation power is. for those like you stuck in the past you will struggle with this change.
I bought a nook color. small enough to carry large enough to read easily, even though I am all apple computer at home.
My Nook gets recharged every 3-4 days. I primarily use it at work. not for work but when I am on my break I can use the open wireless connection for sales to access the internet without going through the corporate firewall/restrictions. I can surf or just read in general.
it also sits on my desk while gaming. I can open a website, or other information on the game while playing to quickly know if that item is actually worth keeping, if I don't know it.
The thing is people havne't figured out where to put them in their lives. to put tablets into their "work flows" Tablets don't go every where they are an accessory that can greatly enhance your productivity if used correctly, or just sit there if you have no imagination(or it has bad tabletized software like your 2.2 device)
Circuit city while not exact shows exactly what happens when you consider the short term profits over long term thinking.
My dates may be off but they are close at least in rough timeline.
Jan 2008 seeing that sales where off the Board of directors gets a brilliant idea of saving money by firing the top earning employees who aren't management. Comminsions, are expensive on those 3,000 people.
Summer 2008 the board gives themselves 10 million dollars bonuses for saving Circuit city $8 million in expenses.
Jan 2009 circuit City board announces they had the worst year ever. sales are off by some really high number. This only surprises investors, and the board but not one of the 3,000 top salesmen(women) that they fired the previous year.
summer 2009 Circuit city folds.
Short term profits, to excessive Board compensation packages , doomed that company.
Just because it is cheaper doesn't mean it is better. With the current costs of fuel many companies are bringing manufacturing back to the USA as it is becoming more impractical to use the cheap labor and ship it 20,000 miles.
I find command (letter) to be much faster and easier to use than crtl.
Control key is varies in placement between keyboards making the distance to the key inexact. However on apple keyboards command is right next to the spacebar, so it is very easy to use.
I always wish msft had pushed their windows key for more than just the start menu. it would have changed keyboards for the better, as linux would have just followed along.
Keys that modify others should be quick and easy to use with one hand.
besides what makes it really useful. is that I can command -c in a terminal window without a gay work around, where as if you ctrl -c in a terminal window you close it not copy the text.
Did you not read my post? I have an always on connection from a major ISP. It isnt always on. At work all of our branches across upstate NY use Time Warner business class and guess what once a week one of the branches loses their connection for 2-4 hours shutting down that branch. We use VOIP phones, VPN to corporate, lose TW shuts down the branch from working. If businesses dont have a reliable always on connection then why are you ignorant that home users do?
I dont play MMO i have a life and MMO's assume you dont. I have maybe 4 hours aweek to play games. I cant play anything that requires me to wait an hour before letting me play just to get into town and wait around for the next mission to reset from the last group.
So no i dont complain only because i dont play them.
I live in a mid sized city in new york state. My time warner cable connection drops randomly, several times a week, forcing me to reload and reenter things like forms(slashdot posts). It is saturatedand Time warner is cheap. I dont have an always on connection so now i cant play diablo III except for early in the morning.
Cable connectioms across the country arent stable enough leaving 100 million potentioal users in the dirt.
How about servicemen in afgahnistan? Or on deployment on ships? They cant play it either. They cant even play Starcraft againist each other in their down time.
I liked the lady who thought she needed to live in a faraday cage made of wood and chicken wire. I bet you could get cell recption in there, and it only blocked a couple of frequencies at most.

Anything can be a weapon. Old lady church gossip has been used to spread more lies and hurt more people than every stalker who used google.
This is what most people dont realize. Nothing changes in human interactions, merely the tools used is what changes.
and for a bit more you can get 2400mAh AA that last for a while.
I spent $10 on a set of 4 AA and they lasted 10 times as long as regular AA's for my given usage.
I am running about a 70% fail rate for flash games on my android tablet.
websites assume a keyboard or mouse to be present. so the on screen keybaord overlay tends to cover up the important bits.
even if the game loads(and that can be a big if) it usually runs poorly. Flash needs crysis level hardware to run semi smoothly.
you aren't going to find it on a battery powered device.

they would if they ran out of gas for the rovers. I bet they were pissed too when AAA wouldn't drop them off a gallon.

which is why DST should be the only time.

Depends. Try going out on a lake in the evening. or maybe play a round of golf in the evening,
The problem is that businesses are open for such and such hours, rarely are they opened at 5 am for such things. however they will stay open later.

Diablo isnt a resource intensive game like WOW isnt any laptop made in the last 5 years should run it just fine.
Assuming a stable always on connection that will put users over their bandwidth caps is assinine. It isnt needed to play the game.
