i had no luck at all. ive gone through 4 of these drives before Dell just gave me a wd cavier which works to this day. the failure would always come after working the drive hard for an extended period say 6 hours. for instance encoding a movie. it would then make what some people called the scratch of death. i remember dell saying there was 'no reported problems with the drive'. after the fiasco, i promised never to buy an ibm drive again, and what do you know they sold off their drive division (to hitachi) not long after. but now i probably wont ever buy a hitachi drive
The make their money selling Macs, not the OS, the same way iTunes fuels iPod sales...
i would argue that the ipod is fueling itunes sales. the pc users ive talked to say they arent particulary fond of itunes but use it because it syncs better with the ipod than other apps. just my opinion
OGG will never succeed commericially becuase it has no DRM (at least i think dont think it does). these new commercial projects are funded because they have DRM. why support a project thats good for the people when businesses can support a project thats good for themselves.
i have that exact same card. ive got it working perfect with 2.4.x and 2.6 kernels.

mythtv has a lot of great ideas, but it is way too buggy right now.
Watch a half hour program. then mythtv crashes and locks the device so you can't even restart it without rebooting.
You make it sound like everyone who uses mythtv has this problem. I use it day to day and it works great. once you get it up and going its alot better than even those pay products like sage. but i have to agree, unless you have experience with linux, its going to be tough
alot of these 'leaked' screeners are actually sold to street vendors who copy them and sell them on the corner. then someone from a release group will buy it from them and release it on the internet. so the inital motive is profit
btw, this screener was released by OBUS, which has released a TON of screeners this academy season. i wonder if they got all theirs from the same guy ??
the reason they arent prevelant yet is because of price. over the next few years it should come down alot though. the best way to get started with led lights would to buy drop in replacement bulbs (edison type sockets). check out this site
are you talking about the stuttering sound alot of people have reported (including myself) with mythtv? if so i dont know that the new kernel fixed it but heres how i did: leave sound enabled in the bios, but uncheck alsa. rebuild. now download the newly released alsa-driver 1.0.1. build and install these
i have a rio karma and i love it! It doesnt suffer from cheap build quality, i have no idea what you are talking about. the menu system is easy to use (i havent used the ipods). im sure if you want to go drop the $400 for a 20gb ipod, it will be easier to use, etc, but i wanted the best deal for the money. they release new firmware updates all the time and through the network connection you can use it from any operating system (which has java runtime installed) and load music or files onto it! i think maybe people should try it out for themselves
What about photoshop or the other adobe apps? In my opinion, thats what missing most from linux. Its the apps people cant live without that are keeping people from moving
i meant linux. just like people who have used windows systems at home all their life, do you think they are going to suddendly recommend linux at work? i relize there are different desktop and server versions.
Don't you think if more users are using an operating system they will be more implied to use that same operating system at the workplace or recommend it to others. In that case, why did you recommend windows for desktop users?

Yikes! how havent these people been hacked by some kiddies yet?
It seems like everyone is coming out with their own pay email scheme these days. and they always boil down to 2 things
i wish these people would stop writing these elaborate papers when the solutions are so clear
opterons and their motherboards currently still fetch a premium and aren't in the average consumer's price range
as opposed to the price of extreme edition cpus?
ya really who can afford a $10 sub. they opened one nearby me and i dont know why. its good food but college students cant afford eating there often
here are a few things that are taken for granted in the West, which aren't as easy to get there.
like maybe having your parents ship you a burger in the mail once in a while
remember the judge wont be deciding anything. its the jury

he later said in the blog that his roommate woke up to guns drawn, then had to dress in front of the agents
Back in the dark ages when I was in college I used to tape lectures and listen to them while I was asleep. Amazing results!
weird, i fall asleep during lectures all the time, and nothing good has ever come out of it

maybe their idea was completely new, but isnt improving on an existing idea still patent worthy? last time i checked it was

better yet the genki drinks with arnie are the best!

ya mine sometimes gets stuck in a menu and i cant back out using escape. end up killing the process.
exactly, they should rename it .NET Desktop
isnt linux running on the same machine?
and doesnt the price of the rdbms speak for itself?
