Toon Boom / Opus (for groups) costs a little bit, but its the 'standard' for a reason (from what ive heard). We use Opus at work, seems to do everything well, and runs on just about everything.
I would avoid a one-sized fits all solution to this.
Use SCSI RAID (1+0), 15k drives, for your frequently accessed stuff. A second pool of less used, but still accessed drives, say 10k, still in RAID (1+0) for some less used stuff, and then SATA for hot backups, and *really* old stuff that no one ever uses, but you still need around.
Drupal is a Content Management System, like slashCode, or Mambo.
They have a VERY large folowing, so im assuming they will hit the $3k soon. (following is a summary of the page you cant hit)
They took their server down to make physical upgrades three days ago, and when their server was brought back up, it wasnt quite right, now it dosnt work at all, and their host isnt responding to them (bad host).
They need the $$ so they can buy a decient server to colo w/ OSL.
The problem w/ the PowerPC procs is the energy requirement. You would never get even 48 power4 processors(g4-g5) to run at the same energy requirements.
I usually share 5x what i take. But seeders can get/.ed. Remember there are a few thousand people trying to get some data from 10 people or so in the begining. The more seeders, the more it balances out.
as of 10:30 CST, 34 seeders, 1898 peers. Im getting 51KB/s down, 19KB/s up.
Of the 'major' IM services (MSN,AIM,Y!,ICQ), AIM is the only one that allows you to direct-connect, and encrypt. (Not via AOL's AIM software though).
I have gotten most friends(that use windows) to switch to trillian, and have it automattically set up to do the 'secure link' which also helps w/ employers w/ prying eyes.
I believe that GAIM also allows encrpytion over AIM, but it isnt compatable w/ trillian's, which is unfortunate. I also believe that the Jabber protocol supports it depending on your server. (Google i hope when you launch your service, you include this function)
And Gov Blago. does still live in Chicago, and tends to dislike private monopolies(Pharm and Gas mostly) making me doubt that this would pass in Springfield.
Although I dont like the idea of paying for something i probaly wouldnt use, I think this would really help the city. Many convensions would use it as a selling point, 'free wireless to all'.
Imagine sitting in Millinium Park(Cation: Illegal photos), w/ a laptop instead of taking your lunch in the office so you could read/.
The only snag i can see is that Bill Daley(The mayor's brother, former secretary of Transoportation under Clinton) is/was the CEO of SBC.
Actually banks dont know better. Read 'Art of Deception' or 'Art of Intrusion' by Mitnick, and you will see this.
Not all banks use a two-man system, infact, from when ive seen broken atms getting repaired, it is NEVER anything but a single person in an easily replicatable uniform.
Blago, despite what this article links to, is a fairly good gov, the Republicans do not like him though. Despite their claims that he is 'spending wildly', he has drastically cut the beurocratic structure in Il.
I assume he is actually doing this becuase it isnt enforcable. He looks good to the regressives for trying, and the progressives know better. It wouldnt be the first time Blago has done this.
That is what the decision appeared to say, but in fact, the rules were never changed, the state initiated the full recount in accordance w/ its state constitution that required one when there was 5% difference.
Gore's request to only recount select counties was rejected in a state court. The FL state supreme court decided what you said. The US Supreme court on the other hand went over them and overturned the decision while holding an injunction against a recount, so one couldnt be made in the deadline (violating a states right, i cant remember the name at the moment).
This in effect when with the count that everyone knew to be inaccurate.
I know this isnt true for all liberals, but my only gripe was that it wasnt the vote that decided Florida in 2000, its was the Supreme Court.
They essentially side-stepped the whole voting process of the state, and its constitution, as well as the federal ones, as well as the rules of state sovrinty, and decided where the electoral votes went.
But something that the conservatives(and many liberals) are not getting about this election, IT DOESNT MATTER who wins, if it isn't done in a reliable manner, we ALL lose.
You are ignoring the people, myself included, that bought an OEM computer several years ago, and have now turned it into a linux box, because we have either woken up since then, or realize that we can squeze out a few more years from it because how much more efficient linux is over windows.
They arnt doing this w/ iPod minis, they are using CL muvos. The iPods HDs are modified physically to prevent this, the muvo's on the other hand, is not.
So can buy a $400 mp3 player, for the $500+ hd for your DSLR, and then ebay off the mp3 shell for $50.
If somebody has figured out how to rewire the iPod, it hasnt been on any of the photo forums, unlike the muvo guides.
One of the few things a agreed w/ in this article was what I quoted.
It is an interesting read none the less.
If you really are willing to do something against this, I reccomend two things: 1. Look for and support groups like http://www.eff.org/ 2. Write / phone your Senator's and Representitives (groups like the eff make it very easy, their site will actually figure them out for you).
If we never voice our concerns to them they have only the opinions of the nut-jobs(Pondexter), and Lobbiests to go on.

Ive been playing w/ OGLE for a few days now, and i stress playing because i have yet to get it to work in the apps mentioned on their page.
*When* i get it up and running, it will be cool though, and i will use it for generally evil purposes.
Now to find the $$ for one of those 3D printers...

The site is the first article on /. & digg, their server is probably melting down the rack about now.

Current is relative. Some of the data for Chicago to be 3-4yrs old (Mill Park).
Not sure about today, but they were handing out free issues of wired as well. So that right there makes it cost ~ -$5 (assuming newsstand price).
Chatting w/ the researchers and inventors was damn cool. I killed my boss at brain ball, so that was easily worth an extra few $$.
I wish it were larger, and completely agree that the layout sucked, but it would have been well worth the $15 at the door.
The Saturn car's display has to be the coolest use of projectors + kiosk I have ever seen (I didn't care about the car).
The Philip K. Dick android was also cool as hell. I walked up to it when g4 was interviewing it.
People are starting to know better than admit to it.
MS is paying AOL to make a horrible browser to discredit mozilla / firefox.
(Yes I am *mostly* joking)

That said, it would be a crap-load more powerful.

Holy crap!!! the Poster actually linked a .torrent, maybe all the complaining actually got somewhere.
Now only if others would follow.

Here are my Photos of Millennium Park. Must go take more...

The other side of this being the people I hated most in school, those that pay money, and expect to be passed because 'they pay their salary'.
I doubt this prof expected this few holes, and adjusted grading accordingly. UIC is not an elitist school by any streach of the imagination.

They are still doing this? I thought they pulled those 6mo ago. The answers are all over the internet.
The first one leads to a url, second to another, and that gives you a pin# to submit your resume w/.
CF has actually gotten even better in the past year, and if you use 'blue dragon' w/ apache, you can run a cf server for free.
