My first programming language was BASIC. There's just something simple about PRINT, GOTO, END that made sense as a child.
Visual Basic might not be a bad idea either, least it's a language they can build on and easily use in Windows if they decide to pursue programming in the future.

These are hackers, they're not the most law abiding citizens, not sure if I'd trust a hacker to not install kiddie porn on some guy's PC for kicks, especially if he believes the guy has done him wrong.

I rush out and bought the PSP though but I've been regretting it, the promse of "handheld PS2" just hasn't come true, it's been nearly 18 months and there's still no God of War or Gran Turismo game yet. I never bothered with the Xbox or Gamecube.
Out of all the next gen consoles the Wii is the only one I'll be purchasing new, but I might get a PS3 sometime around 2008-2009 when they have the Slim-line PS3.

If it's not exposed I'm guessing any large amount of liquid would probably kill it. Since I'm sure it's mounted several feet off the ground I'm thinking maybe a can of wasp-killer spray? The come highly compressed, some cans shoot 30+ feet, doubt it's mounted 3 stories above the ground.
this site has a 19khz and 17khz 3-second clip. The 17 is very easy to hear and would chase me off after awhile and I'm going on 30. I can't hear the 19khz at all, guess I don't have to buy those headphones that go up to 22khz anymore;)
The really scary thing is anyone who can't hear these frequencies could crank this and play 24/7 for free with only a PC and speakers, no need to spend $1,000 for that device. They'd have to play it through their windows since these frequencies don't travel well through walls, or if they want to go all out I'm sure they could get a loudspeaker from RadioShack and mount it permanently like the Mosquito.

From reading the website and the $937 price (UK£ 495) it's pretty obvious it's not designed for individuals looking to annoy your neighbors. It does effect your neighbors rather than just their children since the page says "the majority of people over the age of 25, have lost the ability to hear at this frequency range" so if you have any neighbors under 25 you're bugging the crap out of them.
I think I'd contact the website and explain to them that you're a early 20s home owner and your elderly neighbor is trying to run you out of your house. I'd also print out the webpage and show it to the police, maybe you just need to have a younger police officer come out to the house?
The brother is a good suggestion, but doesn't this topic sound a little 1999? A laser printer that is "network-able, under $300, and produce decent graphics" isn't hard to find, especially if you don't mind using a cheap netgear print server, then there's a ton of laser printers for under $100 that will fit the rest of the requirements, and if you don't mind refilling the toner yourself you can buy toner refills for less than $15 for almost any laser printer.
Oh, and if you don't want to go through all that you can just jump to Networkable laser printers for under $300 in froogle. Every printer company has one for under $300 listed with froogle, I see the Lexmark, Samsung, Brother, HP...

I use to do DSL tech support. Customer's would opt-out of paying whatever the install fee was and chose to do self-installs and call us with "I just got this box in the mail from you, how do I hook it all up?"

So basically I photocopied the book without paying 10 cents a page copy machines charge.
i've never seen or heard of a study doing this, why not? Besides it being illegal it's not much worst than illegally downloading music, so what's stopping them?
