How many layers of tin foil are you wearing at this moment?
I need know how high I need to set the power on the Government Mind Control Machine for you
It's as secure as using a credit card at the pump.
If that is saying much...=)
How is this "security through obscurity"? You swipe your card/speedpass, it calls Visa, and says yes or no...it's not too difficult, most 16 year olds do this working at the mall...
You don't need RFID or dollar bills to track someone...if they use a credit card, any credit card, your tracked.
If you want to get ultra-paranoid about that, they use this information to figure out the exact time and place to send the aliens in to abduct you!
And the number of 30 something Slashdot reading video game players must be huge, right?
It's at least two;)
And why would you want to at your age? It won't get you laid, it won't make you more popular, and it sure as hell won't give you any respect from anyone regardless what you think of me.
What does that mean? Sounds like you are in High School and these are the things that matter the most. News Flash: These things don't mean a thing after college (well, maybe the laid part, but we've already had a good run with that).
Your original post sounded like it was aimed mainly at those that don't play games after 30...like they grew out of it or something and games are for kids. Does playing games get High School students laid, popular and respect? Never did when I was there, but I had fun!
When I grow old, I want to sit around and play Enemy Territory instead of Bridge =)
"I just came home from work to find a letter waiting in the old snail mail box from my Broadband ISP."
Last I checked 'snail mail' meant through the US Post, as in "Going Postal";-)
But it would not suprise me that an ISP would send you spam email about you using too much bandwidth...then offer to sell you "penis enlarging viagra birth control pills including a free date with a super model and the Paris Hilton video"
I'm very left handed, but with most computer periferals being made/designed for right-handers I've graduly adapted to it.
But give me a right handed Golf Club and I won't know how to use it:)
...and each gravastar holds an entire universe which holds a finite number of gravastars each containing yet another universe and so on...
That is very similar to the Microverse theory where if you we to shrink small enough (or grow) you will eventually pass through the limit of the current Microverse into another one.
This may also help explain how the Wormhole theories work between Black Holes and White Holes (Black being an entrance and White being an exit)...maybe the White Holes are exits from another Gravistar? Thus crossing dimensions...
OOhhh...I want the movie rights! =)
First, the linux installer must be as easy as windows
It is, if not easier...I also don't remember XP giving you any options of which packages you want to install, Fedora Core is one of the simplist and easiest installers I've seen...if you can read one of the 100's listed languages that is
Second the linux desktop has to surpass Windows XP in usability
It's only unusable to those that do not wish to learn something new. Once people realize that it's Linux installed and not XP, usability will improve. Even then, it's very easy to use...Linux just needs a 'hold your hand and show you what to do' thing...a clippy for Linux so the beginners know what to do?:eek!:
If you want to run XP, install XP
Frequent tasks should require less keystrokes or mouse movement to accomplish.
Gestures is a geek fad, most 'normal' users have never heard of this and never will. The simple dropdown menus are well known and appreciated, tried and true. We don't need to re-invent the wheel, but to improve on it.
The 'radial pie menu' would be the most logical next step...if it can be kept from being intrusive and ugly. I really don't find it difficult to move the mouse around, no matter how far across the desktop I must go...
That's why you can't buy a TV that lasts more than three years anymore, that's why you can't legally play DVDs under Linux, and that's what's gonna get us all DRM in our hardware. Modding someone down who happens to believe in supporting your local economy
Too bad it is the American companies that are the ones pushing DRM down everyone's throat...
So, on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 means no integrity at all, and 10 means the news media with the most integrity, where would the NYP,/., and the, oh, Weekly World News be?
NYP = 2
Slashdot = 4 (mostly due to double posts)
Weekly World News = 3
Weird, mine is a Dell (600m with a PRO/Wireless 2100, the non-Centrino ones use the Dell TrueMobile cards) the most problems I've had was getting the card working with Linux
Do you know what the cards/APs were that gave problems? I would think it's a manufacture/software problem some how
It flopped, but it does look like todays market has changed
Time for some DDR!
But if it was something simular to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy...that would be different, how?
Wow, it HAS been a long time since I've seen Win3.1
Then it does look early Gnomish to me
And cool! 100% Troll! =)
Mine has 256MB USB storage...

That's awesome! A little like the 'face' but I don't think they can blame this one on 'tricks from shadows'
Linux? It looks like Windows 3.1 to me...
Or Gnome in Red Hat 5.2!
Good point about having them as original scans, I change my argument to being a choice.
Give us text only AND the PDFs =)

Or convert them to text and gzip them...
PDF is WAY over used and should be band from text-only use. Leave PDFs for flyers/presentations/manuals

You read that wrong...he said he got a Snail Mail
Means it was delivered via the Post Office on paper in an envelope
Be kind of silly to send an email complaining about overuse of bandwidth

Thats a great idea!
I'm sure you can find 4-5 Terrabytes of drive space laying around somewhere!
I have about 60GB I can donate! =P

That's OK...if you break into a private computer system you will get treated like a murderer!
Ever see Evolution? That turned out to be a 1 1/2 hour build up to a Head and Shoulders commercial!
More options!!
"Gotta catch 'em all!"
