There would be more overhead, which is already a problem, byt splitting these into 2 agencies. Each oen will need a head, maagement. to many dual positions going for the same goal. its cheaper to run it the way it is now.
I never said I used a free version. we pay for all our copies, plus having it on our server. I do use the free version at home and recomend it to a lot of people
AVG is great for me because it barely uses any system resources. I run a small company with older hardware and it runs great on there. Much better than something like Norton which can really bog down one of those machines
Scientists at LLNL for the first time have performed 16-million-atom molecular dynamics simulations with the highest accuracy inter-atomic potentials necessary to resolve the key physical effects to successfully model pressure induced rapid resolidification in Tantalum. As a shared resource, BlueGene/L has enabled scientists studying the effects of voids in metal failure at Los Alamos National Laboratory to perform standard accuracy molecular dynamics simulations with more than 2.1 billion atoms.
If you are in VA or the DC area, you should check out Ron and Fez at nights on WJFK. I think they are on from 7-11. They are a very funny talk show. No music, but most of the crap on the radio is the same stuff no mater what station. They really break up the torture of a drive in traffic.
As a fellow computer literate person who reads this site, I know many of us will post "I can already do this." For you, rolling your own TiVi like box is not only possible, but fun. For most people it is a burden, along with maintaining it. I am sure Intel will come up with a nice chipset to make a lot of this easier to integrate into an already exisiting home.
This is the same cycle the car industry goes through. 5 years ago kids all over the country were putting small TV's into their car for a high cost. Just like a computer guy might build his own home entertainment computer. Now adays, a Honda Oddesy comes with a DVD player and a TV. We can not snap judge technology we already have avail. to us as a group of computer savvy people, because 90% of the people out there do not know about it or do not know how to use it.
Plus XM has Opie and Anthony on channel 202 who may be the best talk radio show on the radio now. they are awesome and put on a great show.
XM is a superior service from what i have heard.
I have a friend who has sirius in his car, but i like XM better. Both put FM stations to shame
170 million cell phones and 83 reports of cell phones exploding or catching fire in the past two years.
83/170,000,000 = 4.88 x 10^-7.
To me, this is way within acceptable margin of error or uncontrollability.
Think about how many computer power supplies have shorted out and caught fire (i have had 2 at my job in the last year, and we only have 17 computers).
It is a shame, and I am sure it is painful for the people and i do feel bad, but lets not get out of hand with this.
What do you use to filter out all this spam? I agree that we should teach people how to filter, so if you do not mind, please share. or anyone else for that matter.
and what if you have a small buisness with say 15 people, but no exchnage box, just a small stand alone mail server. what do yuo suggest then?
They would have to use a distributed form of svaing information. This would be needed for many reasons. Security, data intergrity, accesability.
Just think, to have this feature, you would have to have the computer that has your information on 24/7. By distrubuting the files across a huge WAN (Think RAID 5 stripping across 10,000 computers, then mirrored to 10,000 more) you would always be able to get your information.
Cost I am not so sure about. In theory, if you bought one computer and hooked it into this network, maybe that could be your pass. Then by paying for broadband, you will allow them to use your computer for part of this file distrubution system. It could cost you the same as now, just with the ability to get your EXACT computer setup any where, anytime.
Also, it would almost make the need for data back up nil because it would all be distributed.
Its a great theory. Maybe not so great in reality. But either way, this research and technology may spur something else. No reason to just shun it because you do not see a need for such a system (and i am not pointing this last comment at the parent, but to all the doubters who have posted saying "I can do this with 'nix and VNC").
Assuming they attacked glass, the next logical assumption would be that the needed silica to feed off of. If this would be the case, then we would also have to worry about these nano-bots eating away at our beaches.
My cousin will cook me dinner everytime I go to her house and fix her computer. Saves me 20 bucks for food and drink for the night, and never takes me longer than 45 minutes.

I believe the way it works is that the monetary amount of your prize gets added to your yearly income. then, you get taxed on that. So if you make 60,000 per year, and win a $40,000 car, you will then have made 100,000$ for the year. then you will lose whatever percent from your income tax bracket.
Maybe they will have an Exhibit on network technology and show the server load of a page linked to a slashdotting for all the inspiring network administrators to be.
Since it produces 1000 times the amount of energy per coal, wouldn't we need to get it here at 1000$ per pound to make it even with coal. Anything less than that and then we would start to come in cheaper.

even with the additional fee, it is still cheaper per month than sirius

Even when he tries to do something nice, he gets flamed. The man just donated 20 million to the school. give him a break
here is the link to wired.com talking about exactly this Wired.com

I have no problems fixing lady's computers for a return "adjustment"
They need to go to the Maury Povich show to find out who the real baby dady is!
I hope it is not Cisco

Combining the safety and productivity of ML and Caml with the libraries, tools and cross-language working of .NET
Extremetech had an article on it a while back F#I think we can safely say 100 monkeys WILL be able to replicate this fairly easily.
