What ever happened to doing/innovating just because you can? I thought that what nerds did, explored for the sake of exploration. I always thought that was one of the greatest things about what we did. Not for the money, for the joy of it. Silly me.
I'm just trying to understand how you don't see the need to reinstall the OS 'every few months' as being a problem.
not trying to start a flame/OS/holy war, but I would deffinatly see this as a problem

RTFA it doesnt come with windows, it runs a "Sun desktop os" and AOL office....which sounds quite a bit like another SUN offering of open office
not one to normally put much weight in crazy conspiracy theories, it does seem a bit odd to me that they have this new bug which forces an upgrade, and they are crediting users the cost of the upgrade....seems to me for some reason they want users to upgrade....what new 'features' does the series 2 have that they can give free upgrades?
atheros chipset as well, the madwifi drivers for atheros based cards were part of the freebsd kernel back when i was still strugling to get it to work in slackware....
easy kill for any offender

ok forgive me for being naive, or redundant but if it doesnt matter how the genetic material got there, what is to stop corporations, competing farmers, drunk football players with no cows to tip, etc from just going around spreading seeds in peoples fields and tipping off the 'authorities'? to destroy random people? sounds like a system begging to be exploited
bear burger is actually pretty damn tastey
my father in law hunts bear here in minnesota and the meat as burger is awesome, even better in chili
if you get the chance and like to eat the foods you have evolved to eat i would highly recommend it
this has been happening for years...last time i got paid overtime, i was working at a liquorstore doing inventory
i havent seen a penny for any of my overtime hours since working in IT
i do know that when ever i install windows i have to track down drivers for sound devices, video and network card. this has happened EVERY windows install i have done. this is on pcs made by the main pre-builts such as hp, compaq, dell,...etc
i do know that as stated in an earlier post the only drivers i had to install for my slackware install is my NVidia drivers. and the only compatablity i ensure is that i dont buy winmodems, but this may be because i dont buy modems
does this pave the way for a move from texas oil barrons and billionair middle eastern oir sheiks to mid-western multi billionair corn barrons...i shudder to think of it
no it was 15/month for a 3 month subscription and 10/month for a one year subscription....unless they have changed it....it was 10/month when i signed up and that is still what i have been getting charged
if you go on thier message boards you can see there are a lot of people who get the emails from emusic saying they have had 'excessive downloads' i know i had recieved this twice....
yes i'm saying just that....do the math.....9.99 a month/2000 d/l a month limit with money going to the artist, record label, bandwidth fees, etc. how much money do you think was left over for the company to pay employees much less make a profit(what business exists for)
all business's exist to make money, if they cannot do this they can not continue providing any services/products
plain and simple
you know as a long time emusic subscriber i was really pissed at reading this...especially being target to many of their 'your account has had excesive downloads....unlimited actually means we dont tell you the limit' emails....but i dont think these prices are unreasonable...i for one think i will simply upgrade to emusic plus and listen to the samples before downloading more often....i for on welcome our new trying to make money so their families can eat overlords
