It's their least poppy and most experimental effort to date. Which is why Reprise Records rejected it last summer: if the suits don't think you have a hit single, you're S.O.L, no matter how great your album is. Thankfully, after a fall tour and six months of shopping around, Wilco wrested "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" back and sold it to Nonesuch. Both are subsidiaries of AOL Time-Warner, so in an ironic twist, the band was paid twice for the same album by the same company.
...from the Engines of Creation author makes this interesting statement. QUOTE: The basic concepts have also been more controversial than I had expected. Even now, after (for example) the US Science Advisor has called for the development of molecular manufacturing, segments of the science establishment are still having difficulties with some quite simple ideas. I know it is a little old (1996), but the US has had this in the bag for a while I assume. Then again, I am sucker for a conspiracy.
I would be willing to bet that if there is agenda to budget tax dollars to research the potential energy source there will be a lot of hot air to shoot down the proposal from those that get campaign finance from the petroleum sector.
On a positive note, the Bipartisan Renewable, Efficient Energy with Zero Effluent (BREEZE) Act extended the production tax credit for energy generated by wind for five years. (The tax credit expired Jan. 1. 2002) That is a lot of hot air.

Why would I buy something from somebody I don't know, and can't get *real* info on.
I buy a TON of promo and out of print CDs and albums on ebay. Stuff that I cannot find at stores even in NYC or Boston where I do shop. The reason? These out of print titles are in the hands of individuals, not retailers.
I have a friend that works at Outpost, he said that they are using Mandrake and Enlightenment on a number of their machines. Not sure about office type apps, he is working in a production support capacity.
Sorry international readers... some specific 'we' content pertaining to the USA.
Did we actually declare war?
That takes an act of Congress.
Section 8:
The Congress shall have Power To...
Clause 11: To declare War... and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water...
Of course, Congress hasn't formally declared war against anyone since World War II. Since then, the United States has engaged in military conflicts in Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf and elsewhere. Our soldiers are fighting overseas. We feel as though we're at war at home, but we're not at war under the U.S. Constitution because Congress hasn't declared war.
All Congress did was approve the necessary budget items related to the Sept. 11th.
That being said, what do we do with all the 'detainees' in Guantanamo Bay? Does international law require us to be at war to hold them for any length of time?
This may be my new solution for burning analog to CDR. The internal soundcards a too noisy, and the stand-alone burners can cost more than a PC solution. I wonder who makes the DACs? The page states "Sound Blaster Extigy's 24bit/96kHz DACs"... that does not indicate their origin. Anyone know?
I did go to MASS MOCA just yesterday. If you are headed this way, it is a rare gem that is asking to be absorbed into your psyche. About an hour point five away from me, but closer and just as great as any contemporary art in NYC or Boston.
Actually, it has very little to do with geekdom for some... I think it is a great idea to hide from society on this day only. I get out quite a bit every other day of the year that this event just seems way too crowded and over hyped. Plus, I do not want to share the highway with a bunch of drunk morons (I think it is very uncool to get behind the wheel intoxicated, very high-school indeed). I must admit that TV is not the best choice for an alternative. My wife and I are having a sex marathon after having a nice dinner and drinks at home.
And if you are not into pickling your brain on this holiday, there are many other traditions that you can check out.
OK, I'd rather have a toilet at my seat in the place of broadband. A fully stocked bar would be nice. Free Valium? Massages? The real issue is the fact that it should be long after improved security and maintenance. However, not all flights are 3 hours, and the food does suck.
Then there is Down, Turner's and Klinefelter's syndromes. Down has an extra 21. Turner's is a monosomy X with sexually underdeveloped females. Klinefelter's syndrome are males with extra X chromos, XXY - XXXY. There is also XXX, XXXX and XXXXX female karyotypes with mild effects as the extra X's are inactivated and converted into Barr bodies.

Where did that come from? I don't recalling Fernandes ever making a "premium" guitar, even among the other Japanese offerings.

2. Turn off the TV during war/disaster/election controversy.
3. Attend more Free Jazz concerts.
4. Do not boot to Windows once (at home, forced to at work)
5. Take para-gliding lessons.
6. Get a sick stereo (Krell and B&W).
7. Badger slashdot staff until I see a poll without the CowboyNeal option.
8. Knock over the first person I see driving an "IT".
