doh I got the AoI and CH confused. I meant the CH or the continuum hypothesis. Which there exists no cardinality between those of the natural numbers and real numbers.
I think it's just we don't understand what the Axiom of Choice means... nor the Axiom of Infinity. These two are both independent of the ZFC set theory. However I wonder if ZFC set theory could be contructed out of AoC and AoI.
If the Axiom of Choice is not correct nor the Axiom of Infinity basically all fundamental laws of physics would be nonsensical. Such as there being no flow of time, the laws of thermodynamics would be wrong, then again maybe our physics is just a subset of all physics.
BT is really just p2p implemented well. Its an open source client without spyware that can be used for anything. People have begun to use BT for legal as well as "illegal" uses. But the same can be said for any great idea. Remember in 2001 when the monkey figures out he can use a bone for a tool. So he uses it as a weapon to hunt but also for killing. An great idea changes the way you view something. This shift can be exploited for good(tm) and bad(tm). It has been going on this way since creative thought itself, from bone weapons to smashing atoms.
The point is you can't stuff an idea back into the human mind. You can't hide or banish it. Once it is released you either deal with it or be crushed by it. BT as a well implemented p2p client is just that.
Bandwidth will increase, my ISP Comcast has increased bandwidth. This will only continue because the selling point of broadband is you can download movies, television shows and music. I mean Comcast tried to buy Disney.. there is a connection. AOL-Time Warner tried it and has failed so far. Microsoft is trying its best. But the future is one box, one line, and one remote.
translation from kraft - Within the framework of a friendly solution, our company does not claim any sum with Mrs. Budimir. In a new mail addressed on last 17 November, we proposed to take responsibility for our the expenses related on the deposit and the administration of the site "milka.fr" of its creation so far.
- We also proposed to Mrs. Budimir to take responsibility for our the deposit of the domain name "milkacouture.fr" which corresponds to the sign of its stores. This name would guarantee to Mrs. Budimir to continue to develop its activities and to inform its customers without creating confusion with our mark.
Milka Budimir's response This proposal is entirely unfavourable for me because my customers, local primarily, knows me under the name of Milka, and that the possible ones customers would have by no means the reflex to seek "milkacouture".
My response If her customers are local namely those who are in walking distance of her store.. then why does she need a website at all. Unless her website is more about her store then the store itself. Therefore a change in domain name will not hurt her financially at all.
that poor crazy french lady lost her website... i'm sure millions and millions of french people will be confused and her profitable business will dwindle down to giving out hand jobs.

geeks on average have bad people skills... not all of them but alot. and this is what happens. why don't the gnome people hire someone as a figurehead to calm the pleas of the peons. someone personable who could go to the users and say 'whats the problem?' and then go the developers and say 'here's what they are asking for'. i just feel the users going directly to the developers isnt going to work out.
If you have xorg 6.8.x installed you can get a program called xcompmgr which is really just a hack to show off these effects. Really the windowmanager should be doing these things and in the future they will. If you have the nvidia drivers you can also turn on hardware acceleration. As I said it's really just a hack but in time it will be come stable and fast.

Gnome 2.10 Released

I don't really know if Gnome will ever officially ship with Mono.. but there are going to be apps that might become really useful that depend on it that integrate well with Gnome. I mean dbus and hal don't ship with gnome but you need them for the gnome-volume-manager....

Gnome 2.10 Released

The 2.12 release is what i'm excited about... the cairo implementation, better compositing support (aka transparency and shadows... fading in and out of windows etc), gstreamer, dbus, Beagle, Mono, memory reduction...
2.10 has some nice improvements and what one should consider as a release that smooths over some issues. But it's nothing terribly exciting and new. Hopefully 2.12 will be a release that blows people away.
heh well if she's 8 and uses linux... not only that but gentoo and can install programs via emerge... well she wont have any problems with installing a printer or video card. also getting into college and doing well on the SATs...heh
If other people want to execute other people... hell I have no problem with that. It's a problem when the State has the power to execute people. The State should have no right to life. We allow the State to exist.. not the State allowing us to exist.
he's happy today but just wait until tomorrow when a group of street punks beat him and take his dungeon master's guide. :(
for about 5 seconds... then you imagine yourself chasing this thing around. then again you could always put a leash on it or glue it to something.
The hypothesis in question was explained here
Also here for the braver souls.

sarcasm. and btw UIDs don't mean shit. The first slashdotters were mostly trolls. Hence the whole reason for a UID in the first place.
