    Alright then you need to come up with an interface for a CD to read the laser data directly. In essence you use an existing laser pickup mech assembly and replace all the hardware. I'm sure it's possible to do via FPGA or ASIC

    I didn't think opinion about the EU was bad within those countries that are a part of it.

    I've heard target dates from 20 to 70 before the EU goes sour and bad things happen. I can't disagree with that assesment but do not wish for it. An unstable europe is a bad thing.

    Agreed. It's their money and it's their policy. I do see the EU being a problem militarily for the US but not for some time.

    It sounds like the crystal itself is getting overwhelmed and doing the cancelling. This is a problem with some of the smaller microphones that are IMHO crap. It's also used as a feature on noise cancelling hearing protectors as it cuts way down on needed electronics. Police headsets

    Still I'd want to converse securely on a publicly accessable IRC network whether in chat or not.

    I can of course pass PGP encrypted messages either just armored or cloaked as a picture or by other means.

    The reason they want this is similar to usenet postings. You can command you legions of winged minions without the MIBs knowing who the winged minions are. It's a waste of their time and only captures the diseased and weak winged minions so I won't cry too much about it.

    If the 'business' that publishes pays any tax or dances to any government regulation, it is not free. If any reporter pays any tax, they are not free. I don't know of any country that has a free press except those that do the job for free.

    On the reimaging if there is any way to get a trojan or other malware on it someone would do it. Reimaging is not a bad option but I'd prefer a diskless workstation.
