As mentioned in
slashdot before, Baen publishing puts out Webscriptions and also gives away ebooks for free
on the net and they also provide a CD in several of their books with a large number of novels included. All of the free ebooks in the free library and on CD can be shared but not sold.
Here are several ISO images of Baen's free science fictional goodness, please

Patent holders being granted exclusive rights to a product method... etc are immune from some torts
"Bob Patents Ink fails to give BF Guns a 10 gigawatt plasma pistol patent license for free so BF Guns Inc wouldn't make them and Jerry not having an effective weapon against Leechians was eaten by Leechians." In this example with current law Jerry's family cannot sue Bob or BF Guns. And if Bob drags his feet and BF Guns brings tort to force the sale of patent licenses to BF Guns and this delays production of the guns and Jerry gets eaten, Jerry's family still has no right of tort except to bring claim for wrongful death against the Leechians in Galactic court if they manage to survive the current unilateral extermination action currently underway by the Earth-Setian confederacy.

By the way you can thank globul ogliachy building for extending the duration of patents in the US.
""" Prior to a recent amendment prompted by the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property (TRIPS) accompanying the Uruguay Round GATT, patents were normally issued for a non-renewable period of seventeen years, measured from the date of issuance. See 154 of Title 35. Under the amended provision (which took effect June 8, 1995) the term will be twenty years measured from the date of application. """

Innovate? If I'm a registered user I should be able to derate a webpage by 1. Similar to slashdot posts.
I wish they'd not be so damn lazy and point to the numbers it is web based they could add a link, either that or say that the DOE doesn't know.
I know we screwed the pooch with the weapons stuff out of a sense of terror. I saw this as another attack on nuclear energy. I had the numbers somewhere but coal produces oh lets use a multiplier:-) (100X) the amount at that facility and all of it has to go somewhere.
We have a worse place here in Indiana, the place with the VX gas. It'll be burned eventually.
New Scientist can't be bothered to report the numbers. A lot of scary words and no substance are in this article. Of the numbers given it was 67 tons of weapons grade plutonium, not waste plutonium. No numbers are mentioned for contents of that 'fouir million litters' of radioactive waste that leaked. It doesn't state what was in the waste. Another problem with the article is stating 'figures' as a multiple of the allowed tolerances which sound nice and scary but is worthless.
Coal produces billions of tons of hazardous waste annually that is both carcenogenic and bad for the environment. I'll do like 'New Scientist' and not back that up it sounds scarier that way.
It will be owned by someone else. I have a car, it does well and is cheaper than rail.
Trains are dying for a reason but maybe Greyhound can get access to the rail system and perhaps avoid the dead cow palaces and stop at better restaurants.

to go to waste. You need wide band they'll have it and the ones with lots of loot will go to multispectral fiber.
For a business it's because of the cost.
