    good job you're not in a job which is subject to mandatory drug testing then... or requires a security clearance which would reveal your drug use (you'd be amazed at what the vetting team can dig up about you to quiz you on)

    completely and utterly different principle of operation. Magnus lift is the force that occurs when an airflow is passed around a rotating cylinder whilst the cylinder is moving... this new device is a rotating array of aerofoils and relies on the angle of attack being changed as the foils move around the axis... there is no motion through the air by the entire assembly required to generate lift... merely the rotation of the blade assembly around it's axis.

    that's pretty much a given considering the vast majority of password storing and retrieval systems out there barf when you give them a non-aphanumeric character...

    of course it will be... and it'll be on widnwos phone as well to enable windows phone users to phone up their mates using windows desktop and vice versa... MS are loving this spat as it enables the protocols to be churned so that Linux Skype users will never have the nice toys that windows desktop and phone users will have... the Linux and Mac clients will forever be behind in the churn of the protocols...

    the entire point of them buying Skype was so that they could embed a Skype client into windows phone to use to make calls to windows desktop Skype users and vice-versa... to use the large user base to lock it in to windows only... the Mac and Linux Skype clients would be deliberately kept way behind in features in order to discourage use.

    (a mechanical recorder to prevent speeding/going without a break is mandatory for trucks in Germany, and in general the experiences seem to be quite good).

    already easily "bypassable" by driving two vehicles on the same route, pulling over just before the mandatory rest and doing a driver swap... as far as the system is concerned, it's a fresh driver... the tachometer disk is identified by the truck, not the driver... if they were serious about enforcing driver rests, then the system should have been designed so that the driver was monitored...

    since when were THEY experts on radio signal propogation and global warming? and apparently making such wide predictions on the propogation of what is a short range system primarily intended for use indoors or just out to your garden or patio as well... this is just so stupid it hurts my brain... Wi-Fi is short range you donkeys... and physical objects have far greater effect upon the signal than global warming ever will...

    But their wages are going up 20% to 100% per year. Given the very low starting bases, it will be about 8 years before it just doesn't make sense to make a lot of products there and then ship them over here.

    Unfortunately, 8 years is too long... our own manufacturing base will have been wiped out and our economy destroyed... which is the long term Chinese goal. They don't give a sh1t about their environment or their workers as long as we're losing as a result...

    unfortunately, our own CEOs are beholden to the shareholder value rules and thus are forced to outsource production etc. to cheaper facilities... there's no long term company survival rule in place to protect shareholders and force CEOs to put long term survival ahead of the next quarter's results... perhaps if the stock options involved their own money being put up front and held for say 4 years before being able to option and also their bonuses being dependant upon long term goals...
