One got smashed right after the launch just like promised: smashmyxbox.com... Few low-res images available now, some video footage promised 23rd and longer videoclip 26th this month..
Amarok is media player, but the clue here assumingly is that amarok is able to show albumcovers for albums, which it fetches from amazon.com. Some lisencing (or something similar) issue forces the Amarok to remove/re-fetch album covers that is has downloaded every 90 days or so, moving to use wikipedia for this propably eases the pain on this detail.
Also lyrics are fetched from some service in the Internet, but I can quess that providing extra information about the band, composer etc. might later on appear after this do-operation deepens.
I pretty much argee, FPS is so much more playable with mouse and keyboards, real-time clicks (RTS) usually require loads of keyboard shortcuts, thus also these usually work better on PC.
I miss good turn-based strategy/tactical games for consoles too, haven't seen those for consoles. I'd say PC gaming sticks..

What do you mean no bluetooth ?
(Straight from the site:)
Connectivity:
* WLAN: 802.11b/g
* Bluetooth specification: 1.2
Not quite that if I have understood the case correctly.. they took open source component as a core to their browser, modified it and now they have to contribute back to the project, since the stuff Apple used is under GPL, if you use & modify, you have to provide the changes you made when asked..
There's really no need to even to the purchace overseas, just any westore from any other EU contry would do, package & delivery costs don't take too much and takes just few days. Not to mention that Netherlands is such a small country, just 2 hours in in car and your out to Germany, France, Belgium or Luxemburg and back with brand new non-taxed device, IF this law ever gets approved.
BTW, we have a similar fee in the prices of CD-R/RW/DVD-R's in Finland, therefore big Finnish webstore has a branch in Estonia, and it ships all the medias from there and we get the media as cheap as before.
This has nothing to do with socialism, this is just a big corporation exploitation people.
Isn't there things like unions in USA that can handle this kind of violations.. At least for my European ears this doesn't sound acceptable at all, Overtime == more money or more freetime later to compensate the done extra hours...
It's especially annoying when people say "We talked about this TWO YEARS AGO!!!" Well here's some news for you: I don't memorize every slashdot story since the beginning, and there's been a lot of new members since then.
..Not to mention the fact that tools such as distcc evolve a lot and maybe even if someone remembers mentioned software/app/tool from an article two years back, it is revealing to hear news about stuff you don't necessarily follow from week to week and read the latest changelogs after every 0.0.1 increment in version number.
You mentioned that your office has 40-45 people (15 engineers, 7 creative types, 15 biz dev/sales, + extras.. )
I wonder what is the common ratio between similar tasks/roles nowadays. I work on a software company with about 80 employees, and I'd say at least 50 of are engineers/developers and we have 5, max 10 people who one could consider to be sales personel and 6 creative/graphical/gui designing guys + the support, extras etc.
Are we the exception that makes the rule or what type of ratio between roles other companies have ?
> can program as well as Linux himself,
I too would prefer if my box can program herself... but it won't. Do I treat her badly of what, or are you referring to Linus [Li:nus]?
I'd just love to see X.org in unstable as soon as possible, but propably other debian users agree with me, that it too quite a while to see 4.3 in there too.. so might still take some "weeks":-)
I had one of these babies few years back.. must have been year 2000 or something. I liked the OS on these, but actually I really didn't have that much need for these, I just work from 9 to 5 rarely have much appointments to rememder and deadlines just go by.. Briefly read the tech specs, but couldn't pick a notice that these would have Bluetooth in.. how to browse the web.. although Opera works pretty well on my Nokia series60 phone, so I get my share of slashdot [slashdot.org] when I am not tied to my desktop. Would be nice to try these again.

Even *Microsoft* does what they're legally required to do.
Or they just buy out the whole company that has something they eager and get the code like that, no need to contribute anymore

Yeah, I'd vote for MIESQL (btw mies is Finnish and means man).. so it would suit the up'n'coming improved mysql very well.
Mysql 5.0, - the manly edition with triggers !
Aaargh! At least you saw the article.. two posts on /. and during that time it's already slashdotted.. where has the world gone.
I'd just print it.. http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/
