In the grand scheme of things, this probably means nothing to the general security of Firefox, but you can be sure the browser zealots on all sides will be watching carefully."
Talk for you. Logic serves people with real sense of logic. The only place where you may have trouble is with individuals of opposit sex. Seems like different logics don't mix well.
Most functionnal programming languages are a good step in this direction. Either Erlang with a message base approach or the pure way of (most interesting in my opinion) Haskell are very easy to run concurrently. Pure languages avoids mutable elements (think variables) so only the sequencing issue remains. That can be done with special instructions (seq) or by the language itseft (there is many Haskell variants going this way).
Not everyone is suffering from this outage. Looking at the throughput map, we can see that Iran and China have increased (2x) their throughputs. I presume this can be explained by the fact they don't share the surviving lines anymore.
That's the strategy openSSL uses. To manage plateform specific code, instead of playing the #ifdef game, they use different files and use a perl script to manage the code. After compiling, you end up with four different bunch of code:
what's indepedant of the plateform and generic code
what's depedant of the plateform and generic code
what's indepedant of the plateform and optimized code (e.g. to compute ciphers)
what's depedant of the plateform and optimized code
You must be carefull not to change the compiled code unless you want your change to suddenly disapear because the perl script copies code in temporary folders. At first it's strange but when you know what is going on, the code is clearer.
What's the point of focusing with Firefox v3 as it is already here with FFv2? Just take a look at your preferences, in the security tab. You got the choice whether to check for suspected forgery or not and if so, to look against a downloaded list or to give your privacy to some organization (google is the only one listed). So is this news? Maybe I missed something?
How much does it takes to correct an error in Britannica? Couple of discussions by a closed group, years and at least a forrest.
How much does it takes to correct an error in Wikipedia? It's a matter of seconds, by any individual. It takes a few keystrokes, couple of clics and that's it.
As a matter of fact, the same is true to introduce errors.
As most Windows users don't know what RAM is, they don't use this free upgrade. On the other end, every GNU/Linux user would take it. So, DELL probably did the math and realised that it was more lucrative to be unfair.
Why should Wikipedia have to choose? Shouldn't it be possible to make different articles about the same subject with different target audiance? Or at least mark some sections as more 'formal' some others as more 'entry level'.

Though I don't think of /. as the justice league.
Where can I find those funny forms?
Death by extinction? Remember everyone, suicide is not the answer.

I can't find anything related to what you say. It redirects to a page titled "greatest woman of all time" and it tells how great Barbra Streisand is.
As it something to do with the last editor named bstreisand? Who knows?

So why did you buy it?
Are you so insensitive to its feelings? Don't you feel its pain? Such a tragedy.

I would say that's about as close to Geek Tragedy as you can get.
Think green.

As a matter of fact, Ubuntu does not install gcc by default.
Gentoo does it since it's source driven (every package is compiled).

Maybe that was a little bit condescending, but I would be interested to see the numbers.
By the way, do you use Windows? ;)

So does Linux reached the computer's communist's holy grail?
you'll feel a placebo effect.
I share your view.

Fixed to maximum compression. Don't ask me to decompress though.

... for obvious reasons.
Let me guess... in reality shows?
Maybe look at Rocky, you'll find the start of an answer.
Boxing is a great sport for the mind.
