If my boss told me to wear the flame resistant body armor when I got to work in the morning, I'd know I'd be in for a pretty bad day. I myself have been to protests - peaceable ones. You blame the cops? When a buncha people gather with overthrowing the system on their minds that's gonna spell trouble. They should issue the cops flamethrowers to make their jobs easier. Burn em all baby!

Not one crash, the plugins work well, its faster (or at least seems faster than Moz) and its OSS. I haven't put it on my Linux box yet just out of laziness - over there, Moz still rules the roost.

This is bullying tactics by a company without this being proven in a court of law. Companies and users can be threatened into buying a license that is not necessary or legal. SCO has no basis to ask for this without this being reviewed by due process. This can be likened to buying the Brooklyn Bridge - its not theres to sell. Please investigate this - thank you.

  16. Jibes with other reports - wheres the good MMOPRG? on Star Wars Galaxies Reviewed · · Score: 3, Interesting

I read another review over on UO Stratics (http://boards.stratics.com/php-bin/uo/showflat.ph p?Cat=3&Board=uochesapeake&Number=4094063&page=0&v iew=collapsed&sb=5&o=0&what2=postlist&fpar t=) (Warning, Stratics ain't stable on the best days, let alone a slashdot barrage). Basically it said that the game was lacking depth, like many of the other MMORPGS out there. In terms of visual appeal, most other games of this genre beats the pants off of UO, but UO is the oldest one, and most people who quit UO eventually come back to it for the depth. I quit myself recently after three years of suffering many changes that older players were not happy with. Many reports from older players say that they try other MMORPGS and then come back to UO. Problem is that UO is losing its older fan base due to its changes. I keep looking around looking for the next great game, but haven't found it yet. It's sure to come due to advances in technology and lots of information on what players want in a persistent world. Part of the problem seems to be that companies rush to bring out the next big thing and suffer a devestating cash (Sims Online comes to mind). For my money, the best hope that online role players have is the D&D online game coming out in 2005. They are taking their time to develop it (http://www.rpg.net/news+reviews/press/press.5593. html) has some info on it - its an Atari/Turbine production. I don't care if I am swinging an axe, a lightsaber, or a chicken at enemies. What I want to see is a game that will hold my interest for years (like UO did) and listen to its player base (which UO didn't). One of these days that game will come, and that will be the next great online game.

Our offshore call center uses VoIP. Quality is shakey, it is difficult to hear, and calls get dropped or crossed with other service providers out of that facility. If Ghana has no other option (the 300,000 waiting list makes it sound like they don't) then I guess anything is beter than nothing, but as a professional business tool I don't think VoIP is there yet for rock solid stability and clear communciation.

I think how our government treats minors is terrible. I understand we need to have an age limit for voting, but 18? That is far too high. I think 14 is about right. Oh, and we need to abolish age limits for tobacco, alcohol, porn, and anything else that is restricted by age.
Ummm - you're kidding right? Youths who use these items illegally now would have a field day if they were legal. Part of the reason for underage substance laws is the fact that their bodies are still developing, and it is well agreed that tobacco and alcohol is not part of a receipe for healthy development. The "parents" who are expected to see that their kids use these items responsibly aren't doing that now, since they are allowing their kids to break the laws of the land and endangering their childrens' health. The US by far is not the only country that imposes age restrictions on using harmful substances. This is not a US thing, but a common sense thing.
