No, what I'm saying is that starting everything from scratch might fix some bugs that were in the previous version (hopefully you learn from your mistakes) but at the same time is going to introduce numerous others at the same time.
Biting the bullet & a major re-write worked pretty well for Apple
I don't expect people who have worked for years as admins to know everything about security. I wouldn't expect a 19yr old to really know anything about security.
How many people actually watch what their package manager installs. Or actually looks at the running processes that are chugging away on their Linux box. Far too many people, I would even say most, believe they are and always will be invulnerable to anything simply because the logo for their OS is a penguin.
To answer your question, its not unless you make regular backups of your important data. If you made backups the system itself would be unaffected and you would have save versions of your important files. A simple wipe and restore of/home/me would give you back a running system. Assuming you didn't simply over-write your backups with an infected version.
The short of it is, a system is only as secure as the expertise of the person running it allows it to be. Simply running 'Geek OS flavor of the month' does not make you secure.
From what I hear the people who like WoW are the people who liked their earlier games. Personally I am not one of them, and I have yet to hear someone describe WoW in a way that sounds interesting to me.
Saying "best mmorpg ever made" is a huge stretch, its more like "the mmorpg that their current fans expected."
How could this not sound significant to the general users of this site. The latest Athalons and Pentiums use how much power again? If these guys patent this idea, I'm guessing it could make them quite rich.
Have fun living in your cave. No company is more or less 'evil' then another. They all have only one goal and will use whatever means at their disposal to reach it.
A computer, like a calculator, should only be used when the student has learned to do it properly and for themselves. You would end up with better people if they actually learned how to do things, and could do them for themselves. I would look a a parent who approached things that way in a better light then someone who would simply throw a computer at their kid so they don't look like they're 'messing up.'
Yep, there was a reason SCO sued IBM. It has nothing to do with the GPL, and they did not sue 'Linux' as that would require sueing Linus. IBM has money, the BSD's do not. The GPL doesn't change that.
Yes, because offering insane salaries to IT 'professionals' during the dot-com era brought brilliant people to the field by the truck load.
You want good teachers to stay in the profession? Make parents teach their children some manners. There is no way I would ever consider teaching, I wouldn't put up with those brats.
Absolutely right. when I needed to build a router to allow me to download and play games online, I found 2 cheap Sun boxes and installed OpenBSD and utilized carp.
Gamers installing FreeBSD on a router, thats just crazy.

Ya, upgrading Nextstep did work well didn't it.
Ah yes, throwing everything out and starting from scratch is a fantastic way to fix security holes and bugs.

Anyway just because Homer doesn't know him doesn't mean that no braindead idiots know him. Fry knew him and worked at the pizzaria he frequented.

You might want to look into something called dual-licensing. The owner of the copyright can do whatever they please with what they own.
Can I get a list of your other 'worst ever' games? I like games that I have fun playing.
