A cube is a square if the perception is limited to the surface it stands on. Are they not the same object? divine, spiritual, physical dimension, map them to 3d and you have a working model of trinity. It needs not to be the theologically correct one to prove your assertion about sanity quite a bit too strong.
I consider a violation of privacy if a guy comes into my house looking everywhere to see if i have the state approved remedy for a disease regardless of my utter absence of symptoms or the existence of better cures. "virtual contact with your data"? there is transmission so the receiver must sanitize all incoming data, not scan the official source which is insufficient, for obvious reasons.
Politicians are our servant, officially speaking. Bashing a servant should be without consequences. Stripping people of such right makes revolt a just moral choice. Of course revolt might be the expected response, rage becoming fuel for other immoral machinations. I dunno your country but here: Fascism 1.0 (1914-1945) is when that freedom is taken away. Fascism 2.0 (1945-2001) is when politicians are uniformly puppets, so bashing them is encouraged as a diversion. Fascism 3.0 (2001-present) is when bashing is again prohibited so that the diversion is stronger and the choice for the citizen is between direct and indirect control. Getting out of it requires everybody to be social, powerful, smart, moral persons (moral as in having a moral system that competes with outside control - there is no real problem if people have genuine faith in communism, fascism, atheism, religion AND live their system for themselves and not against the others). But that's unlikely to happen: the system can buy us off simply enabling a positive economic phase.
They're not "child" prostitutes, they're like seventeen. Now, I agree that it's abhorrent to go with somebody that young if you're over 24 and he's like 70. I also think that if guilty he'd have to go straight to jail as underage prostitution is terrible. But I point out that had he waited some months the girls would turn 18, he'd have been above such charges. I have theories: 1. those girls are the way to frame him, his entourage has a lot of shady guys. The mafia or the really powerful people don't let a guy like berlusconi get too powerful without a way to control him. 2. 17 is illegal. 18 is legal, no fun anymore. Pedobear sh^t gets real.
> saying anyone who doesn't agree with their political opinions must not be a member of the human race
Lemme translate some famous pearls of S. Berlusconi "Judges are mentally ill and antropologically different from the rest of human race" About his opposition: "I can't believe there are so many dumbasses ('coglioni') that vote against their interests"
a general form of open hardware was there when they gave you schematics for the electronic stuff you bought, or the maintenance manual for your car. If our rulers really cared for out planet and our wallet the production of goods would have a modularization and compliance to standards phase.
Debian and debian derived projects are for people that are to lazy to use a real Linux system. Any Linux user who is lazy enough to rely on the binary Linux distro's are really just admitting they don't actually want to put the time into learning source based Linux.
Source based linux is for people too lazy to code their own OS in assembler. Problem, compilefag?
The only problem with wikileaks that I have is that they have quite a lot of media exposure, skipping the "first they ignore you" part. I do not believe they are just diversion/disinformation, but I think that some powerful parties are going to try exploiting their work: possibly to show internet is dangerous so it must be censored (that will happen if leaks cause tangible damage). Possibly to show that a centralized system (twitter, the net itself) can be an instrument of revolt (until it becomes so pervasive that nobody can do without it, then we`ll see how much freedom will be allowed in here).
Of course all of this is irrelevant in practice. One should take leaks with a grain of salt and official reports with a couple kilos of salt, always;)
Kind of a false dichotomy, there can be a different experience than windows, that`s why linux desktops often seem inspired by mac... Would users adopt linux if/when it becomes "easy as windows"? I think that users want to change as little as possible. They are right, it is stupid to learn new things needed to do the same stuff as before. I think exactly like that too.
But I have been a user long enough to realize that proprietary systems means always relearning how to do same things differently, either because of upgrades or the attempts by some vendors to lock users in unique operating procedures, so that they will find the competing systems unfamiliar. So I chose linux and did the long term lazy thing, that is paying off very well for me. Example, you think ubuntu is getting too different (the lock in I was referring to earlier)? fall back on aptosid or mint or debian itself.
Besides I think that desktop linux is already as easy as windows, or I should say with a somewhat lower number of real world annoyances (1 vs 2 glitches this weekend, for me)
Not really an expert, but biological weapons are like artillery or tanks, it seems strange no development or research would occur in that area for any serious army. The least optimistic thing is that after development there comes testing.
Ask ten people if having an mp3 is to be considered a penal offence, and then work out the probabilities that such laws passed around the world represent the opinion of the people.
I must have said it here already. RIAA and all the others do studies too. They know that their public position on piracy = theft is utter BS. They don't fear pirated stuff, they fear the cropping up of alternative channels for the fruition of media. Because then the market fragments and the consumer becomes the Chooser.
From a numeric point of view, that should not matter to them if they spend 10 million to produce and promote a band or spend them producing and promoting 10 bands, as long that they make up more than 10 millions in record sales. On the other hand, Art has often been about entertainment on the receiving end, about influence on the producing end, and I see no reason why this should have never happened after WWII propaganda efforts.
My problem is not with patents, it`s with trivial stuff being patented. How do you prove you invented a trivial software process, that is also the most lucrative for patent trolls? Someone with prior art and no whatsoever intention to file should always be able to invalidate whatever leverage IP holders want to impose. If we care for a healhy and innovative market.
it`s been years that the issue of insufficient ip space is debated. Governments so keen on regulating our internet experience and the digital tv didn`t even require that new network gear be ready to support it, or did they?
so my prediction is: there will be the expected crisis, no matter if severe or prolonged, and the solutions will involve more centralization or some more control over the net, as the existing trend goes.
Yep, so it's a kind of rape, so the organization the guy works for should lose the domain name, have hosting revoked, and the guy should go on the other side of the ocean to get a trial, or something like that.
The posts could be from an agent provocateur, but could just as easily be from a temp or secretary who actually holds those views, and didn't realise a posts source could be tracked.
The consequence of such a strange action (one is a genuine violent and has access to government nets where he could do a heap of actual damage, and all he does is inciteful posts to strangers...) is on the movement which loses credibility and gets associated to normal criminals and terrorists, which is the primary excuse for most governments to arbitrarily suppress protests. An anti government insider helping the government would realize that very soon. It might still happen for a single, very stupid, guy but if you RTFA it sounds like coordinated action.
And a stupid anti-government guy who managed to get inside the "enemy" organization as far as to access the internet from the inside of the office would also probably collect and leak embarassing stuff which every organization has, esp. after wikileaks is the flavour of the day.
> There is great danger for Oracle in all this: they may be perceived as gaming the spirit of the GPL.
If somebody takes a gpl file and incorrectly redistributes it as apache, someone else might get it and build derivatives containing closed source.
So oracle is using the gpl against google (for the entertainment of foss haters), but google violated the letter of the GPL and its spirit if it wasn't a mistake.
Given the business opportunities apache licensing may give with telcos I can't easily dismiss it as a mistake.
1. announce that your web access filters will be disabled for a few days due to upgrade. 2. give the HDs to destroy to your staff as "old drives for backup purposes" 3. wait two days.
The drives will be by then filled with porn and malware. Of course this is nowhere near a multi pass wiping but the staff will guard their new hd closely, so...

consent is different from prostitution, I guess, but IANAL.

Dear Cato, in fact your GP is off topic and And globally redundant.
About the rest of your comment, it should be obvious that evil policies are the problem, the resulting complaint is a mere consequence.

yo dawg, I herd you like being under terror...
so I suspect you of terrorism whenever you hit a non conforming site.

WTF? They need to be especially recognized as the women who resolved the issue of penis envy, instead.
May I?
How to destroy data correctly:
1. announce that your web access filters will be disabled for a few days due to upgrade.
2. give the HDs to destroy to your staff as "old drives for backup purposes"
3. wait two days.
The drives will be by then filled with porn and malware. Of course this is nowhere near a multi pass wiping but the staff will guard their new hd closely, so...
4. profit!!!
