Hell yeah! one of the finest books ever written. People do talk about "1984", "Brave New World", etc but "We" never seems to get a look in, which is a great shame.
Me too! I've got a 6GB player and it's great, long battery life and works as a mass storage device so no need for any DRM'd rubbish and proprietary players/formats etc.
We also have problems with the crazy methods of recycling used in local councils. We have one wheelie bin for non-recyclables and 2 red bags for plastic + card and 2 clear bags for garden waste and a tiny box for paper, glass and cans. The main problem is that the box is too small and the bags "disappear" after being collected, often i come home from work to find the street covered in these bags as they get left in front gardens and get blown away, or just not returned in the first place. The best implementation of council collected recycling I've seen is a 2 wheelie bin system, 1 for non-recyclables and the other for all recyclables, presumably this is sorted at the tip rather than just shipped off to third world landfills but thats another debate.
Kind of like the Assimov(?) story where a worker starts to remember how to manually add and subtract when everyone else is reliant on machines to do the working. Can't remember the title but I think it was in Robot Dreams.
This is what the old Tie Fighter games were trying to say in the short story in the manual. The sping on the story was that the Empire were the good guys and the Rebels were a bunch of terrorists.
People on Slashdot also talk about, amongst other things, The Matrix and LotR as if they were real too. So the fact that lots of people talk about aliens does not mean they exist.
What does that have to do with Verisign screwing up? What would you say if they gave your domain over to someone just because they pretended to be you?
Why is it that whenever the Creationist Vs Evolutionist debate rages its always between the Bible and science, are these the only two schools of thought on this subject? What about any other world religions belief structures?
Thats a good idea but would be too close to The Thirteenth Floor (which has been pointed out elsewhere today) where this idea has already been done. If the the brothers W decided to go with this story line I fell it would let the whole thing down.
I like it, it would make for a dark ending, which is a bit more than Hollywood tends to put out these days.
Of course if this turns out to be true wouldn't an awful lot of religious groups protest at the film portraying evil as the "good guys". Think of the protests raised over Harry Potter and there was never any doubt over him being the "good guy".
Ahh, king missile, how they make me laugh.
Their song about cheesecake delivery is great.

I always found the best method was to use two controllers, one for moving and one for aiming, which i think was the control sets were all 2.x
Regarding knowing the locations of every car at every moment, if they bring in the road charging scheme then they may well get this info too.

"I'm an atheist for God's sake" Please tell me you said this in jest. I may even use it as my sig.

Beckham won't be making the decision for his upcoming move to Europe, it'll be decided by posh spice who runs their household.

too true, I can't speak German except for vaguely remembered school level stuff and I could follow the film without the subtitles most of the time.
Not only is this a fantastic film but it had a great soundtrack as well. Well worth a watch.
