This isn't really 3D. It's still the illusion of 3D on a 2D screen.
Floating windows would still take up just as much screen estate, I wouldnt be able to move my head to the left to see around the web browser i as using to see if i got a new email.
I remember playing Quake 2 and Half-life (both single-player) in a dark room with headphones on. It really added to the experience. I dont know if it helped my hearing any but it seemed to help me play the games a lot better.
Don't worry, all the benefits these kids gained from the video games will be negated after they get to high school, with their 20inch subs in the back of their Civics.
Good point, this kid was only "testing" the virus. I've always been interested in how viruses work, if i assemble a small closed network of unpatched machines and set a virus loose on them will I be arrested.
Of course, i'm assuming this is all the evidence they have on the kid. Hopefuly the FBI found somthing that shows this kid actually wrote (improved, whatever) the virus and released it on the world.
The only reason I go to a show is to see a display of musicianship. I'll admit too that i love the sceen. I love haning out in the lot and drinking some beers before a show. I'm not that guy thats still out there trying to score some more weed half way through the first set. I'm there for the music, my friends and a good time, in that order.
If you dont go to a concert to "see a display of musicianship" then you're seeing the wrong musicians.
ok, ok, ok...beyond the inuendos, bad 80's art, and drugged up look on their faces i have one question.
What the f*** is that fish doing there?!?!

Exactly. I was a huge Dead fan and everyone told I'd love phish. I told them to go to hell. Then a dude gave me a couple tapes. Halfway through the first set i became a phan.
Those free tapes i got translated into me buying a ton of phish cds and going to a ton of concerts.
btw, I cant wait till the concert in Philly (Camden, NJ acutally) July 30, 31. Then "It" that weekend.
The problem isn't the first copy. Its when someone decodes the.mp3 to burn it to an audio cd. They make a copy, then trade it to someone else who encodes it to.mp3, posts it on their ftp site. someone downloads it, decodes it, burns it, trades it, encodes it, posts it...etc. In the end you get a.mp3 that sounds like it was recorded at the bottom of an aquarium.
I download.shn's all the time, and all of them say on the setlist file DO NOT ENCODE TO MP3, but.shn is not a playable format (and they're huge), so I encode to.mp3, upload to my.mp3 server and enjoy. The difference is I dont then trade the lossy.mp3 i trade the.shn
I guess all the justices thought about was "wow, these filters must just block porn, so its OK, because porn isn't a free speech issue" while ignoring the fact that the filters fail at that task.
RTA, it wasn't the fact that the justices thought the the filters worked perfectly but the fact that any library patron that was over 18 could go and ask the librarian to turn off the filter.
I'm sure that this will be a little embarassing if you're actually looking for porn but not if a legit site is being blocked.
All the bands I listen to allow free tapeing of their shows. Anyone who's into the jamband scene knows where you can go to get free live legal music: Furthur and that its possible to go to awesome concerts without paying a tax to TicketBastard or ClearChannel: Bonnaroo
Now if only some other genres started doing the same things...
In my opinion, something the user does should never cause a program or operating system crash. If this can occur, it is the developer who is at fault, not the user
