Yes, I'll rave a bit here. Its amazing. Especially for developing on my 12" PowerBook. With so little screen real estate its amazing how much time i save looking for the right window.
Before Panther i was soo pissed off about how un-useful OS X's doc was. But Panther made me realize that I don't need a task bar, there are other more eye-candy intensive ways of doing things.
The good thing here is not the eye candy, but the innovation of finding a new way to do somthing.
"Under the oppressive regime of Saddam Hussein, Iraqi citizens face arbitrary execution, detention, torture, rape, religious persecution and forced relocation. They face suffering and death from chemical weapons deliberately used on civilian populations. They are systematically denied basic individual, civil, political and workers' rights as set forth in Iraq's own constitution and in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights." usinfo.state.gov
I know, i know, it says Chemical weapons. But it really pisses me off that this post got modded up for saying that what the US does to mice is equivilent to what Saddam did to his people. If they were to quote other articles about the alleged testing of chemical/biological weapons on humans by the US then I could see it as being "Informative", but as it is its just a "Troll".
Oh.. so by that "logic" Saddam Hussein was COMPLETELY and utterly correct in undertaking biological research as he didn't want to get caught with his pants down if someone else invented it.
Um, yeah you're right...Oh wait he acutlly used it on his own people. Not just some mice in a lab. Whoever modded this "Insightful" is a f***ing moron.
So i should go buy one of these really cheap printers now, then wait for the 3rd party cheap cartrides to come out?

Is Bluetooth Dead?

· Score: 2, Interesting
I agree completely. I got a 12" PowerBook recently but my phone doesn't have Bluetooth. So now while looking for a new phone I guarentee that I will only buy one with Bluetooth. Especially after the idiocy of me scrolling through every entry in my current phone and entering everyone's phone number into the macs address book.
I'm assuming he's meaning American macro-brewed beers (Bud, Coors, etc.) and to this I agree. But there are soo many good American micro-brews as listed by another poster.
If you can get a hold of Victory (a micro-brew) in
your area try their Golden Monkey. Its a tripel that will put your on your ass (9.5%) and tastes amazing (once you get used to the suff floating in it).
Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V is universal to Windows, Mac, and Linux. Deal with it. Windows Update lets you pick which items to install or not install. You can make yourself a non-priveleged user in WinXP too. And holding Linux up as an ease-of-install bar for Windows to meet is a joke.
Thank you! I read the second paragraph and discounted this guy as an idiot. What do you mean "extra hand motions"? The extra hand motion is moving my hand over to the mouse to middle click (or click both buttons at once)! Anytime i'm forced to take a hand off the keyboard when editing a document it slows down my productivity.
Its problably people like this that design those keyboards with the rearranged home, end, page up, page down keys because "no one uses them".
Isn't this a linux user? shouldnt he realize that standards are good!
OK, this is probably an easy way to get modded down but i'm going to defend Microsoft. Even worse defend the default interface for XP.
Lets see, they moved the programs section of the start menu from the top to the bottom, this is a lot closer to where the mouse alredy is after clicking the start menu.
Next on the start menu, at the top they have which ever your default webbrowser and email client? (what? it not just IE and outlook? nope its whatever you have set for your default).
Now then theres the meaningless programs between the default email client and the programs menu. If you actually used this config for a bit you'd realize that it adds your most used programs to this list.
So why is My Computer and My Documents there and not on the desktop? Well because most the time you cant see the desktop you'll have windows covering it up.
I don't think that its that people will walk out, but that a lot of theatres list the runtimes of their movies. There is probably some magic number that increases attendance for a move.
Of course, with LotR fans, this is probably irrevelavant.
Even better would be to have an option to choose what categories you want included. If I'm looking for my-friend-Pete-from-freshman-year's blog, but cant remember the URL, it would be useful.
I agree, the coffee lawsuit proved that McDonald's coffee was servered much much hotter then coffee should be served and thus much more dangerous. It was more then the fact that everyone should know that "coffee is hot" but the fact that everyone doesn't know that "McDonalds coffee is really freaking goddamn hotter then any rational person would serve coffee"
On the other hand, the "McDonalds food makes me fat" lawsuit is just a bunch of idiots trying to make some money.
I find this "Loss of Jobs" argument rediculus. I can think of many laws that if removed would create a ton of jobs...lets see how bout we legalize drugs...we've just made jobs for crack dealers, pot dealers, heroin dealers, ecstacy dealers...
It's pretty convient that you can just plug in your 15" Powerbook to the soundboard and supply fans with perfect quality mp3s and FLAC files. If only more bands would do the same thing as Phish. I'll gladly pay $10 for 3 disks worth of live music.
check out this pic to see Phish's sound man and his power book at IT.
If it reaches to Camden Yards I could check out how my fantasy team is doing while I'm at the Ravens game. Or "work from home" while attending an Orioles day game...
naw, i doubt it would reach that far...and i dont even know if they'd let me take my powerbook in.
You're both half right. Guinness doesn't own the book , but they were the origional creators of it (actually their owner, Sir Hugh Beaver, came up with the idea and contracted a fact-finding agency to make it for him). As someone mentioned above the book was used to settle bar disputes. So no its not really Guinness' Book, just the owners idea, and it has their name.
And i thought i was going blind! ...very slowly
It opened fine in Safari. Well almost fine... the far right side was just white with black vertical lines. But hey 350000 of 400000 pixels aint bad.

But it does have wi-fi.
*shiver*
So "Big Mac" is really only one seat right? so it'll only cost them $25?
I guess i shouldnt complain that it costs me $130 to upgrade to Panther.
$130 * 1100 = $143,000
owch

So i should open "c4seyj0nes' Printer Cartrige Shoppe" next to every Office Max and sell 3rd party ink on the cheap?
