Like you, I've only played around with it. I love it so far and it works great with jQuery. It would be nice to see some benchmarks and get a feel for how it performs under load, though.
I don't think that this new "bubble" is as unstable as the last one. Because of the much (much) lower cost of online publishing compared to that of 6-7 years ago, net-repreneurs (=P) don't have as much to lose as they did in those days. Not to mention the fact that VCs are now more cautious in what they invest in and how much. While you might have gotten millions of dollars in capital for your online business then, you are likely to only get tens of thousands or even a couple hundred thousand now.
Ok. Venom I like, but I was hoping Doctor Curt Connors would finally become Lizard. Oh well, i guess Sandman will do. Two thumbs up on using Venom (too bad a 2-3 hour movie is not long enough to work in Carnage).
I used to work the presort at the nearby FedEx Ground facility. The folks I worked with were concerned about only one thing... and that was getting their job done so they could go home and sleep. It didn't matter what the packages contained, they were all handled with the same lack of care. Things were thrown and dropped. Stacks of packages were carelessly knocked over with absolutely no remorse. I shudder at the thought of shipping ANYTHING via FedEx. I imagine things are not much different at UPS...
i live right on the former side of the indiana/ohio border. i forsee many of my Buckeye friends coming to my house to post sales on eBay in the near future.
it would be highly difficult for most people to get any use out of that plutonium. radioactive material is purified to only 3% for use in power plants and needs to be purified up to somewhere around 90% to be weapons grade.
ergo, i don't think i would be extremely worried if someone had stolen it.
I have a Knoppix disk that I don't use. I run Slackware on everything, so, when I have a problem, i boot up bare.i with the Slack install disk and fix it that way.
no OS is better or worse than any other one. it depends on what you want out of it. i run slackware linux and the only issue i have is that i can't play games on it. that's fine with me, whatever. i just whip out my PS2 if i want to play games. as a programmer, i personally enjoy trying to solve problems under linux. i don't mind that it make take me 3 or 4 hours to get a driver to work properly or that i may have to do some hefty configuration to make an app work. but, that's me. if i just wanted a desktop system to play games and surf then net, i would use windows... but, im a programmer and windows programming is homogay.
I thought the X-Men sequal was even better than the first and it did a great job of setting up the obvious third installment. As far as The Matrix, I feel that trilogy took a turn for the worst. The stories of the 2nd and 3rd movies wasn't quite as intriguing as in the first movie. Although, I will say that The Matrix did a hell of a lot better job working in a love story than those crappy new Star Wars movies... ((((shudder))))
Open Source should have no problem breaking into the market in Iraq... Microsoft's Iraqi representative was captured last Sunday by US Troops. It was all over the news. Anyone else see it??
If I remember correctly, there was a plugin available for Winamp 3 that allowed Ripping and I thought it worked quite well. Of course, it's not packaged with the software... You have to scour Winamp.com for a while to find it.

Clearly you haven't heard of Jaxer.
Andrew Keen would have a field day with this story.
Starcraft 2 was looking pretty sweet. I managed to get some gameplay footage narrated by Karune from Blizzard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1WmdSRB538
As well as some footage of Utgarde Keep in the new WoW expansion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxsISOCZcKM
I agree. Being able to launch my apps with out reaching for my mouse makes me work so much faster.

That jives with my experience this morning. I was number 18 in line and they let 14 people in before locking the door.
Yeah, I apologize. I posted that to the entirely wrong discussion. I certainly feel sheepish.
...i'm addicted to free pr0n!
Not only are there more men, but most of them are named Steve.

this was also in Wired Magazine months ago...

I think I like it. It's very "1984"
