there's no real point to sony including blu ray discs on PS3 games.
1) Multidisc is inconvenient and pulls gamers out of the game. Something many developers wish to avoid 2) Cost. 3 dvds cost more than 1 blu ray disc to manufacture. 3) Multidisc games are more complex, you have to have redundant data on each disc wasting space, you dont get access to the full capacity of all the discs. 4) How many dual layered DVDs would it take to equal the capacity of an 8 layered 200 gigabyte blu ray? (yea, they exist) 5) PS3 is meant to be a long term system, meant to be technologically advanced far longer than PS2/Cube/XBOX were.
Actually they have learned. Thats why Bluray movies have multiple companies supporting it rather than just Sony. Thats why its not Beta vs VHS this time around
NVIDIA contacted us today after we published the "PlayStation 3 GPU Less Powerful than GeForce 7800" story based on a report found at The Inquirer. Derek Perez, NVIDIA's Director of Public Relations, was kind enough to provide us the actual paragraph from the September issue of PSM. Here is the information from the blurb in question:
There's no doubting that NVIDIA's new 7800GTX is the ultimate in PC graphics technology. The card's G70 GPU, which is more than twice as powerful as two of NVIDIA's previous top-of-the-line 6800 boards, shares a lot of similar workings with the PS3's RSX chip - only it isn't as fast. Oh, and it retails for $599.
The article actually says the GeForce 7800 GTX is not as fast as the RSX graphics processing unit that NVIDIA developed for the PlayStation 3.
We apologize for any confusion and we'd like to thank NVIDIA for providing the exact info
Feel free to point out all the very obvious things I'm missing
The desktop and explorer were integrated with IE in multiple ways. Including a sidebar that let you customize themes/options for individual folders using HTML templates, single click options, the ability to use files other than simple Bitmaps as your desktop. Stability was improved ten fold, plug and play worked. FAT32 support was added. The start emnu supported drag and drop, the task bar supported quick task bars,it became easier to customize things like desktop icons.
I beleeive I read once MS fixed over a thousand bugs from 95 in 98
My objection lies in Microsoft's release strategy, and in the cynical way they manipulated the marketing of new OS versions to boost revenue without offering the customer commensurate improvement in functionality.
Barring ME, there are tons of improvements with each successive version of Windows. If you cant find a difference between even 95 and 98, you need your head checked.
Also, please keep in mind that ALL innovations in controllers have been due in large part to Nintendo. Analoge controls, shoulder buttons, the freakin' directional pad, rumble, and so on.
Everything that you listed except for the dpad was done before, and Nintendo copied. And Nintendo didnt do the first dual analog, clickable analog, integrated force feedback, eyetoy, steel battalion, light guns, etc etc
Thats as dumb as say, public outcry against someone killing human hair samples from a barber shop, and the church protesting cause the hair is human. Is human hair human? What gives you the right to decide?
I love my PSP. I've bought more games for it since it's release than I have for all my other systems combined. And there still isnt a single DS game worth buying. Nintendo's done a poor job of ensuring a steady release of games that cant be called glorified tech demos.
However, the flaw is with USB, not Windows, said David Dewey, a research engineer at SPI. any operating system that is USB-compliant is probably vulnerable

Kick the fanboys off the editors panel!
Microsoft has a card game?
Yes it does. Cause Id still need to buy a PSP. Now isntead of a PSP, its a PSP and a PDA.
As one of the users of ScummVM-PSP, I love you man *hugs* Portable Sam and Max, *tears up*
I agree, and appologize

The point: Linux is just as guilty as Windows in the matter. Moreso actually, Linux can update almost daily, Windows doesnt even update yearly
Forced? I still run 98 on my laptop, and even 95 on my PSP. No one is forcing me to upgrade.
Same for the DS.
Myth. XBOX has a larger global marketshare than cube.

They dont have to, mine is open source
Yes you can, I know this for a fact as I wrote my own video conversion tool for PSP.
The memory stick playback is not crippled, the 5 hour battery life is extended for memstick apps, and PSP sports dual 333 mhz processors
Gx2 does offer 64 megs of built in flash, PSP offers 32 for its firmware.

WiFi wasnt axed, the router functions were but they were apparently never announced. It will however serve as a gigabit switch
Except there's already 8 layered Blu-Ray at 200 gigabytes
analysts making the same claims on PSPs cost, and that didnt fan out either.
No Tekkaman/Technoman references yet?
