Make a MDI clone, but make it act so that windows inside it move with it, but windows outside it do not. Kinda like Winamp, where things docked to the main window move with it, but things that aren't don't. You could then pull all the toolbars out and maximize the document window inside the faux MDI parent, and it would act like normal GIMP. Or, you could leave them inside the MDI parent and it would act more like Photoshop. Make it tweakable for the nitpickers (How much of the window has to be inside for the window to be "inside"?).
I registered so I could have it always be flat mode with a threshold of 0, and so that AC posts were shown fairly. (I can't remember if AC starts at +1 or if logged in starts at 0 for me, but they are even).
And who the hell modded my comments above "Insightful"? It may be "Insightful," but first and foremost, it's offtopic. Moderation isn't to reward posters who agree with you, it's to weed out spam and trolls, and make the discussion more readable. My post should be at -1 by now, so that only people interested in all/. conversation, whether on or off topic can read it, but those only interested in the topic at hand, and therefore reading at 0 or 1 will have it filtered out. In fact, I should have posted that with no karma bonus so that it would have started lower. I'm leaving karma bonus on now so that future mods can see it. Please downmod my first post first, then this one, if you wish.
3dfx made some awesome cards, and Glide was nice. I still used my Voodoo3 for years after I got it, and when I got it, it wasn't top of the line. Too bad they went under.
I think human nature confuses you. Just because someone bitches about something doesn't mean they actually care. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who actually does still have a War of 1812 grudge. Hell, with a random sample of 20 or so, you might not even find anyone who knows the White House was burned down during the War of 1812 (Or ever, maybe).
Eh, "My kid would never do that." Parents want to stop the whacko kids from shooting their babies. That's why they don't lock up their guns, so their babies can protect themselved. *ahem*
If you keep a tape adapter in your car, you could use it like that. Pretty cool for a "look at me" kind of thing. Put your keys in your car, then plug your stereo into your keys. Might be nice for a convenient car mp3 player.
By the way, "Greasemonkey Hacks" is DEAD until we fix this. And I'm
posting a big red blinking warning on every page of
diveintogreasemonkey.org advising visitors to uninstall it, until all
of these security holes are closed. This is why God invented the
<blink> tag.
And I just realized I changed my sig from the old anti-<blink> one. Poo.
Heh. That will only lead to dictionary wars, with competing dictionaries nullifying each other's trademarks. Come to think of it, telling the grandkids of The Great Dictionary Wars would be badass.
None of it should, but you're naïve to think that it never would. Imagine if MS's EULAs were found illegal. Do you think if Bill Gates said on the stand that he never intended Windows to be used that it would mean anything?
It means that if the license is invalid, MS can't sue you for using unlicensed software. Their intent has been made obvious. I think it's being missed that I'm saying what might be decided by a judge, not what I agree with, or what is right, just what is possible (Maybe even likely). It's not a huge stretch. Look at it from the point of view of someone who has never really looked into OSS mor coded anything. Might see that as a minor detail.
Read the submission. He's looking for a solution that is below $100. I'm willing to bet his time does have zero value. I'm thinking student worker who is going to be getting hours even if he has nothing to do, so yeah, his time is basically of no value.
The size of the text is irrelevant, why the hell are you even arguing it? I just said "in small type" because who would sign it if they saw that? The main thing is, that if a contract is invalid, it may still be used to show intent. If you want to argue with me, then argue with one of my points, not something I added as filler.
Besides, just because you say something, doesn't mean you have to follow it. Welcome to the real world.
Unfortunately, there's a chance that if the GPL is invalid that it can be found in court that, although the restrictions are invalid, the existence of the license itself shows intent of the author to allow use and distribution of the software.
Say for example that a contract allowed you to use a car, and somewhere in small type there was a clause that required you to sacrifice a kindergartener each month. The contract would be invalid, but the owner wouldn't be able to sue the other person for illegaly using his car.

(No I'm not.)
But the torrent is significantly smaller than the install file. (Duh)

Same here, but I'd assume someone whose homepage is /. likely has an account.

I'm sorry. ./ you are no longer my homepage.
But
Interesting how you were still afraid to risk your karma on that statement.

FreeBSD is open source, tool. Best Wishes, Logged in Coward
vi grammar? Maybe "syntax" is a better choice. And I know, it was intentional. Congratulations on being trolled by someone who wasn't really trying.
Can toast?
No, toast can't run BSD.
Well, your bottomless reserves of faith don't even give you the courage to log in with those comments, so how much do you really rely on it anyway?
Well if several people submit the same story, only one can be accepted.
With a uid so low, you should know better than that.

You win. Kick ass.
Mod me off-topic, I don't care, non-anon praise is in order.
You didn't invent that. Thanks for playing, dumbass.
"It would make no sense..." I see you are unfamiliar with the American legal system.

I've gotta admit, these GNAA "articles" are actually starting to be funny.
