    I like how in Detriot 500k+ is a huge home, while here in SF 500+ is a 1 bedroom condo with windows on one side...

    I'm with you. I was a big fan of the Homeworld series. Nexus did a pretty good job of recapturing what made Homeworld great. The only real nitpicks I had with Nexus was the inexact movement system that you mentioned, and the fact that in the later missions it became almost impossible to be victorious without losing one or two of your fleet ships. And fighters were basically useless. Aside from that disabling ships mostly came down to have the correct loadouts. You send a ship with mostly hull damaging weapons to disable ship subsystems and of course the result would not be what you want.

    This guy doesn't seem very smart.

    What good are you to your cause if you aren't willing to risk incarceration or bodily harm for it? Anyone who tries to change the way of the world ends up dead, he should have kept his mouth shut if he wasn't willing to risk that.

    If I were one of his comrades I'd be very pissed at him.

    Well thats to be expected. The first epsiode of a new trek series 20+ years after the original. You'd have to stunt cast to bring in the old fans

    But for a finale? If you don't have yet you aren't ever going to...

    I don't know how you can blame this on the net. Voyager put up with much the same scrutiny and held its own.

    So here's my question? If no Law enformement is invovled, lets say you see the corprate black suits coming up the driveway and iniate the self-destruct script (we all read Cryptonomicon right?). Is it still destroying evidence and obstructing justice?

    I keep seeing that scene from Hackers when the SWAT team comes through Phantom Phreak's windows with M4's...

    I'm the exact opposite. I stopped buying CD's years ago. I stopped burning my MP3s to CD when I bought my Rio Karma. I don't buy DVDs either. Thats what DVD mail rental is for. I do buy books though, so I do agree with you. Why would I pay 8.00 for a paperback I know I'll probably only read once and then stick on a shelf or on a pile, when I can probably borrow the book for free from the Library? Psychology is fascinating...

    The entire point of looking it up on the interent is so that he wouldn't have to call ahead.

    Granted I'd never drive 2 hrs for food (no matter how much ganja was in my system), but I'd be pissed too. Incidently the longest I've ever driven for food was about 40 minutes for In N' Out burgers and that only because for "some reason" I thought it was only 20 minutes away.

    I'm curious - why did you do it? Why not just report the scum bags and let them get what's coming to them?

    answer: We hated the CP for what it was, but it also consumed huge amounts of bandwidth so we couldn't afford to keep it around.

    Yeah I've wondered it myself. I'm generally pretty far left politcally, but I really admire the Conservatives for that one thing. They'll put aside whatever diffrences they have for what they consider the greater good. Liberals won't. The pot smoking Hippies in Hombolt and the Liberal New York Jews somehow think they're on different sides...

    shortsightedness or overthinking of the situation I guess.
