/. basicaly started as a place to bash microsoft, support linux, GNU, etc, so what drove you here? Most of people FUDing M$ here know when they are overdoing it, and most of us know when they are bullshiting, but that is why we come to /. - to listen to some anti-M$ bullshit that gives us pleasure. Do you see me going to "Bill Gates is a god" list and supporting linux? No! So you should lay off too.

You can't go wrong with them. With 200W sub, 4x53W speakers, and THX certified, they produce one hell-of-a sound. Also, in Canada you can get them for $200 CND, which is quite in your budget of ~$350 CND.
Buying those speakers was one of my best computer-related purchases. Best thing is playing Chemical Brothers Bass Test - whole apt. building shakes from the vibrations, and I don't dare turn it more than 50% up (i think it would rip me apart). Perfect for annoying those pesky Jehova's Vitneses neighbors :)

Actualy if you make changes to sex (i.e. you do it doggy style on the coffee table while watching power puff girls) and you do it in your own home you are free to do it privately (no one gets to watch).
But, if you decide to do it commercially (i.e. you become male hooker and your special for the day is doggy style on the coffee table while watching power puff girls), then you would have to make videos (or detailed text descriptions) available free of charge to all your customers (if they ask for it).

Problem with brain is that unless you can see from the begining of your life, being able to see for the first time when you are 25 is not going to do you very good - brain simply hasn't had much training as to patern recogniton, depth perception, etc. People who get their vision later in life have hard time dealing with it, and it becomes more of a burden than heplful - they would still have to tuch things in order to recognize them, sometimes even different colour of the object will confuse them... So, while this is great news for people who are about to lose their sight (kids including), people that are blind today, and have been so for most of their lives, probably won't have much use of it.

Yeah I agree that it's much easier for them than for "older" countries, but you have to give it to the Slovenians that they are quite inovative. While SFRY (old Yugoslavia) still existed they were pretty much their own world when compared to other south slav republics.
I know that there even were comercial specificaly targeting Slovenia. Eg. some car repair tool - Slovenian version contained super models being beutiful and showing off the tool in question, whereas comercial for the other Republics was dirty handyman showing how tough the tool was.

  24. Geek vs Nerd on The Ordinary Slashdot User Answers · · Score: 1

Hopefully, ou won't be offended (but i would if someone told it to me). I must say you pretty much are a luser - theres a difference between a geek and nerd. Geek is supposed to be person interested in technology, while nerd is someone who learns lots of unnecesary stuff and is anti-social. In my schools computer science club, 99% of people are nerds. Their knowledge about computers is if i click here WINDOWS will do this. The make up their own RPG games, and trading cards, and sh*t like that. We also have a few pople that are MCSE or Novells' version of same thing, but their knowlegde is not much better than the previous guys. It looks to me like you are a pure nerd! You spend 4 hours a day (you call free time) on irc/tv/music???? If you were a geek you would be spending at least 8 hours a day either coding, or dissasembling you tv, or anything. irc should be in a background, just so you glance ocaisonally on #kernelnewbies, or other PROGRAMMING, not TEEN oriented chat (hopefully you don't hang on teen chanels). I realize that you are only 15, but at the age of 16 i was going to bed only when my eyes can't sta open because of the bad monitor (~2am). Sometimes i wouldn't go to bed till 7am when the sun would remind me it's time to finish the fscking day. (on hollydays, of course :) Being kewl has nothing to do with what you do in you free time, it has to do with the attitude you give it. I have yet to hear someone say to me `geek` while thinking luser. Also, You gotta go out more - not to be kewl or anything, but because it's good for your body. Go swimming, skiing, baskedall, anything. weightlifting is especially good for morale, just watch your back :) Raves are also a necesity to give your mind a break, but you listen to metal. Techno all the WAY!!!! Hopefully you understood what I'm trying to say. Don't be offended. Try to take some of my advice. I must say i'm a combination of geek and nerd, but i don't see myself being picked on because of that. p.s. I'm not some big guy - only 180cm, or 5'10", I don't look menacing, maybe boolies don't come close to me because i'm serb, but i doubt that's the reason. I had same level of respect while i was in serba as well, and i was really short ages 14-16.
