get the belkin battery pack. it'll make your ipod bigger, but you'll get a lot of play time with it. there's another one on the market that uses a custom laptop battery as an addon, too. but that's even less like you want. personally i HATE changing batteries, it's a huge cash sink and also it's even more bad for the environment

Hate to break it to you, but America is still catching up to Europe when it comes to being spied upon regularily. Just because one can travel freely among European countries doesn't mean you aren't being tracked coming in and out as a non-member. Not to mention the omnipresent video security and tapping abilities of Europe. Just because the US went from pretty much nothing to something doesn't mean the europeans have anything to goad over us.

  15. Re:Damnit on Slackware Likely To Drop GNOME Support · · Score: 1

There's no technical advantage one way or the other. sometimes kde has nicer configuration of advanced options like samba, and gnome 2.8 has hal and dbus integration. HAL and DBUS combined with gnome-volume-manager is the number one reason to use gnome instead of all the super/submount kludges. However, if you are used to NOT using X, you might as well just go with fluxbox (or other lightweight solution), which is what i use on my laptop combined with /usr/libexec/gnome-settings-daemon to make firefox look decent.
