1. Don't run more than three splitters in a series. 2. ALWAYS run the patch cable from the wall to your cable box FIRST. Never run it through a DVD or VHS player. Doing so will jack with two-way signal communications. 3. All of your patch cables in the house should be RG6. RG59 is not very well shielded and in fact can act like an antenna. As such, the cable infrastructure should all be RG6 throughout your house.
