  7. BSOD screensaver on Need A Few Post-Its Around The Office? · · Score: 5, Funny

Back in 98, I installed a screensaver on a few file servers (NT 4.0). What was nifty about it was that it showed the total RAM count and was performing a filecheck that actually read the files (RAID activity can be heard) and flagged them as corrupted. Of course, the files were perfectly fine in reality.

Oh man...did I catch hell from my manager when he dropped his coffee mug and ran into the server room and pulled the plug on the RAID. Though I laughed really hard...he obviously didnt.

From that point on, we had to restore the file server because the system wasn't shutdown properly. Fuck...he only needed to move the mouse or press a key to kick the screen saver off.

Then came college at UT. He Graduated with a 3.9 GPA and a business degree.

Basically, HS grades and performance does NOT count in the real world. Never has, and NEVER EVER WILL when looking for a job. That said however, HS grades will make it much easer to get into a good college. And with the case of my friend, he took all of his basic classes at a local community college then transfered.

But for your average small business, they may only need support or simple solutions. Why should such simple solutions require the wage demand set by your company and its employees? Remember, not everyone is asking for 110%. They just want the job done....cheaply. You sir, have a very false sense of idealism.

You are correct about the height difference in bumpers between SUVs and cars. But, the main reason for integrated bumpers has to do with crumple zones. Because of the nasty rates of health insurance, it's better to have a car absorb the kinetic energy rather than your spine. Unless of course, you don't mind having your body experience the sharp jolt in energy at the expense of keeping your car. You gotta love those blood sucking lawyers! Sue sue sue is the name of the game now. (Sad but true)

I'm curious though. Why not have shock absorbers mounted in the front and rear of the frame? This would kill two birds with one stone; minimal auto damage and less shock to your body on impact.

I honestly believe this is the new game in America. They WANT you to lease the car so they can recoop most of they profit from you. Then, they ship that same car overseas. Wash..rense..repeat.

By overclocking your neurons, you might be changing your perception of time relative to everything around you. So while you may think faster to everyone around you, you may not notice anything different in terms of perceived intelligence.

Actually, time might slow down around you. Imagine being able to see a humming bird flap it's wings in very slow motion (assuming the human eye can refresh at a high enough rate) with ease. Also, imagine everyone talking in slow motion. Basically, time is in total slow motion relative to your speed of thought.
