Another con regarding the web browser, and I think it's a BIG ONE:
It doesn't appear to handle cookies correctly during redirects (HTTP 3xx). Since a lot of login sites use this technique, they simply do not work with the kindle browser, and this includes most webmail (including outlook varieties). gmail.com seems to work OK, but I think they are using javascript cookies during login. I was extremely disappointed with this limitation. But, as others mentioned, this device is for reading text, not surfing, and I like it well enough to keep it, regardless. I've heard from other owners that login sites used to work (i.e., cookies were handled correctly)... I wonder if this is just a new bug, or worse, it was introduced intentionally! BTW, facebook sort of works if you login with the HTTP option; but the cookies don't stick which means you often have to re-login whenever you post status updates or comments, which is very annoying.
In 1969, Earth passed through this same region with rather spectacular -- though brief -- results (with viewers seeing 2-4 meteors per minute over a 30-minute period). This year's passage probably won't produce quite the same intensity as it did in 1969. Even still, astronomers are predicting anywhere from 100 to 600 meteors per hour.
Huh? In 1969, they got 2-4 meteors per minute, which is 120-240 per hour. And they say not to expect the same intensity this year: instead "only" 100-600 per hour. ?????
Expect to see wave after wave of US layoffs in the wake of the elections... especially if Bush wins again.
I have this strange feeling that a month or two before election day, Osama Bin Laden will get "caught". Bush's ratings will skyrocket and he will win in a landslide!;-)
Perhaps, I've seen "Wag the Dog" one too many times!
Bored employees may reveal information on common people (ex-girlfriend), but "important people" (e.g., celebrities, politicians, sports figures,...) require a higher level of clearance than your average police officer. I don't know if the same goes for IRS employees.
Well, well... goodie for you. . I didn't get a score? Darn it all. I must be wrong and you must be right. If this is your logic, I'd hate to see your code.
I fell in love with Opera from the get-go. Unfortunately, it does not have as good Javascript support as Phoenix. Also, it seems to crash a lot with PC-Cillin web agent running (I can't prove this, but I ran my PC for a week without PC-Cillin and all went well. Then as soon as I started PC-Cillin up again, it consistently crashed).

This sounds like a Tesla vision. But instead of using radio waves to power large cities, we are talking about molecules here.

Amen. So many ignorant people with all the answers. I used to be "anti-cop" (when I was a youngster) until a close family member of mine became one. He actually has to deal with these thugs on a day-to-day basis. When someone is on PCP and on a violent rage, you are allowed to protect yourself and subdue the "suspect" with equal or greater force if necessary. People on PCP do not respond to force the same way a sober person does! Do you think you could do better? I doubt it. Think about that the the next time you kiss your child good night.
I agree to a point. Yes, it seems that the "older" group clocks in and out at more regular intervals and is more politically conscious. However, as with most stereotypes, there are exceptions. Hopefully when/if it comes time for me to find new work, my experience and skill sets will do the "talking" and not my age.
I am in the 30+ department with a dependent child (I am probably viewed as less of a turnover threat). I have been keeping up with technology pretty well the past 10 years and plan on doing so indefinitely. True, I have my family engagements and need to attend to them, however I do have remote access and do continue my work at home sometimes at weird hours. I believe those who enjoy learning continue to learn regardless of their situation/age/etc.
I don't think that offering the public a great TV experience will curtail the experience of the movie theatre. Where else can you spend $5 for watered down soda and another $4.50 for stale Jujubees?

What does "having a girlfriend" have to do with this? Can she outperform the Roomba? *AND* the french maid? Sounds like a keeper to me!

Looks like the site is kaput.

Isn't that a quote from the movie, "Tommyboy"?
I wonder if, after a long hard day's work at the office, he has enough stamina to "plug in" his wife.
Amen. And may Allah be with you.

Dead give-away: You must not be a developer or you pretend to be.
